y shoot our wedding and they were awesome. They kept things moving, were creative, and caught so many heartfelt moments. They were constantly on the move for the 9 hours we had them! We couldn’t have been happier with the photos we received. We couldn’t pick a fovorite as there were too many great ones to choose from! We also had pictures taken at a few locations and really wanted the scenery around us to be a part of the photos as well. Brian and Cathy really captured the beauty of Charlevoix, MI! emotion in all their photos. This was a requirement for me as my husband and I are both pretty camera shy haha! After a fun Skype date, we chose them to photograph our engagement and wedding. We were both nervous for our engagement shoot because we had never gotten our photos taken professionally before. Oden and Janelle quickly eased all our nerves, we felt like we were taking photos with our friends! Oden is very outgoing and was always making funny and cute comments to make us laugh. Janelle is very precise in her direction but manages to make all the photos look so natural and not posed. We welcomed the directing as we are both not models! Our engagement photos turned out so beautiful that we couldn't wait for the wedding. As the date grew nearer, Janelle was always very responsive to all my questions through email. On our wedding day Oden began with the guys and Janelle was with me. I was worried about how the day was going to go and being in front of so many people but Janelle made me feel better with her kind words and she made taking photos with my bridesmaids fun. Then we had our first look where Oden and Janelle captured some of the most AMAZING shots of just the two of us. We had kind of a large wedding party but they still managed to get everyone together for excellent group photos! It was SOOOO helpful to make the timeline so we could keep everything on task but still get all the photos we wanted. All our photos turned out great from the ceremony and reception. We have received so many comments from friends and family on how beautiful our photos are. Oden and Janelle were always on the go, not only trying to get those little moments of us but of our guests as well. We hope to be able to work with them in the future, wherever life takes us! With Oden and Janelle you get so much more than amazing pictures. With these two, it was basically impossible for anything to go wrong. t we could enjoy for the rest of our lives. In the search for our photographers from hundreds of miles away we found that Oden + Janelle had a wonderful website with reviews that blew us away. We reached out and it only took the first 30 seconds on the phone to fall in love with their goal for each shoot. We first met Oden + Janelle at a very relaxed bar in Traverse City and we instantly felt we made the right decision. Throughout our engagement not only were O+J our photographers but they played such a huge roll in our timeline. They referenced other vendors and gave wonderful reviews on vendors we were interested in. Our first professional experience with O+J took place during our engagement photo session and it was the most easy and fun afternoon. My husband and I do not enjoy "all eyes on us" as it makes us very uncomfortable but O+J made us feel like it was just a date between us two. It was perfect. After receiving our engagement pictures we got so many wonderful reviews from our family and friends. They said things like, "These pictures are flawless" or "The water in Michigan is beautiful but I didn't even notice the water in the background because you two look so great". The pictures that O+J captured were breathtaking which only confirmed the decision we picked for our wedding day. On our big day O+J were the perfect amount of structure that we needed. They kept us on tract for time and absolutely surpassed our expectations. Of course the day goes by so quickly so although the day is a little blur we remember the moments we were alone. O+J made sure to capture a sunset shoot and we can't thank them enough for that alone time. It was one of our favorite moments of the entire night because we were able to enjoy each other as husband and wife for the first time. During that moment, at the top of the mountain, we felt as though O+J were our closest friends just hanging out for a moment of silence. They truly felt like friends and guests rather than our photographers. When we received our wedding photos it was like reliving our wedding day all over again. There were so many pictures that we didn't even know they captured. It was so amazing to see the details that we forgot about and pictures of our family that we forgot were taken. Our first look was beautiful as O+J captured that one moment of pure love. We were so blown away by the amount on talent O+J have and true passion for the love of their "job". Spending the day with them you truly feel as though they are there doing what they love and enjoy. You never feel like it is there job to be there because they want to be there. We are so lucky to have had such a beautiful experience and will only have more with O+J in the future. We can't thank O+J enough for everything they did for us. We will absolutely use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone.

17 wedding at Ciccone Vineyard. Oden had me laughing on the phone before we even met, and both he and Janelle made an effort to get to know me and my husband so that it wouldn't be awkward once we finally got together. An engagement shoot is also included in their packages, which I highly recommend; this meant that we were like old friends when our wedding day actually arrived, and we were excited to see each other again! They are incredibly talented, fun, unpretentious, real, and funny--they put together really creative and beautiful shots and are just fun to be around. As with any wedding, we had a few things go wrong, and they were both there in a pinch offering suggestions and their help...like when we had to pick bugs out of my dress (who knew bugs are attracted to tulle?!) and one of our kids got huge grass stains on his pants two hours before the ceremony! Truly cannot recommend them enough, and we plan to work with them and our family for many years to come!

w I wanted them for my wedding too. They're willing to talk about anything and everything from the very beginning. They got to know us as a couple and they took into consideration what shots I wanted also. The free engagement session they offer not only gave us over 100 beautiful images, but also allowed us to get comfortable with them both before the big day. That was a big plus for me! They also helped with deciding on a timeline for the wedding day and they took charge to make sure everyone knew where to be and that we stayed on track. That took so much pressure and stress off of me as the bride so I got to enjoy every minute. Plus, their experience together means we didn't have any of those "ok so what kind of shots should we do next...?" moments! Now we have hundreds of breathtaking photos that we will treasure forever. The only problem you'll run into with Oden & Janelle is deciding which pictures you like the best! I'm seriously worried that our entire house will be plastered with wedding photos! I'm so glad we had them to capture every moment of our big day.

lth of wedding knowledge allowed me to honestly love the planning process! Despite being told by many that we would be too busy to enjoy our own wedding day, Oden and Janelle made sure that we did. They drafted a timeline for the entire day that kept all of our vendors on pace, took most of our pictures prior to our ceremony, and had us back with our guests half way through the cocktail hour! Our guests are still raving about our "amazing photographers." Shortly after the wedding I was starting to regret not hiring a videographer for the day. But after seeing how these two captured every last detail and precious moment, that regret quickly faded. I could not give a higher recommendation for this dynamic duo!

e latter of the two is just what Oden and Janelle provide. It was this basic principle that you can see in their photos that helped my husband and I decide on them. And we couldn't have been happier! Very quick in response, personable, and totally willing to accommodate to the crazy bride life. They were the only vendor to not aid in the stress of wedding planning. My husband and I both felt that our entire wedding day moved smoothly because of Oden and Janelle. They were inconspicuous while we were enjoying our company but right there when we needed a hand. And the pictures are beautiful. We had an unplugged wedding so I was a little nervous that a lot of little moments might go undocumented but when I received our photos, I was not disappointed. There is many action shots of guests, emotional photos of family, and pictures of the tiniest details you forget on that day. So in other words, picking Oden and Janelle as your photographers is the easy part; choosing your favorite photos they capture won't be.

After our destination wedding we had a reception back home and inquired on having some wedding pictures back sooner so we could print them and put them up at our reception. They were more than accommodating on that and our pictures turned out amazing! Highly recommended!

which all ended up being amazing. Our Traverse City wedding was a destination wedding for us so they made planning from afar a relatively painless process. Oden & Janelle set up a really great wedding website that was so useful for getting information to our guests. They also worked with us by traveling to take our engagement photos, which are incredible. After getting our engagement photos back, our family and friends gave us so many complements on the photos such as, “These are the best engagement photos I have ever seen!” We thought so too! Before the big day, Oden & Janelle were very accommodating to work with when figuring out the best day of schedule. We wanted to get as many of our photographs done before our wedding so we could enjoy every moment of our reception. We also decided to hire them to stay another hour in the evening and boy, are we glad we did! Oden & Janelle captured an amazing sparkler exit and I’m so thrilled we have the pictures! Not only did they help us decide the best schedule for the day, but they stepped into a wedding planner role the day of the wedding. They kept everything on track for us and also kept us very calm. I don’t know what we would have done without them. Now let’s talk about the wedding photos! Shortly after the wedding, we got our breathtaking wedding photos back. WOW!!! Oden and Janelle are talented artists who captured the many emotions of the day. We laughed, cried, and couldn’t take the grin off our face when looking at every photo. So many people told us that our photos belong in a magazine. Also, Oden & Janelle use a program called PASS to view photos. I highly recommend getting your photos printed directly from PASS. The quality is amazing, they arrive fast, and it’s very reasonably priced. We know that Oden and Janelle will take many, many more family photographs throughout our lives. We feel like we have made life-long friends and we hope that every time we are back in the Traverse City area, we get to catch up with them. We truly love Oden & Janelle.

We wanted photographers that were fun but discrete, gave direction but not be bossy, have great, creative ideas but not be over the top, and someone that we could relax enough around so that they could capture who we were as a couple. Oden and Janelle exceed every expectation I had for wedding photographers. My husband and I met Oden and Janelle for engagement pictures and so that we could introduce ourselves. We were both nervous; we are very private people and hate having our picture taken. About ten minutes into our session I didn’t feel like I was getting my picture taken by strangers, I felt like I was hanging out with friends and we were just so happen to be taking pictures. At the wedding, Oden took pictures of my husband getting ready and Janelle took pictures of me getting ready. The pictures turned out amazing; it was great having a couple there that could split up. We chose to do a first look and I am so glad we did. Oden and Janelle set it up perfectly and it was an unforgettable experience and one that I would highly recommend. They both had an amazing way of getting fantastic pictures but giving us our privacy to share the special moment. During the whole ceremony and reception they took amazing pictures without being in the way or drawing attention. Their suggestions for pictures were fantastic and creative. All of my quests commented on how great Oden and Janelle were and how beautiful the pictures were.
