Set in a chic contemporary building in vibrant North Downtown, Omaha Design Center offers trendy to-be-weds a combination of elegance and modern amenities. Located in Omaha, Nebraska, the venue oozes style and glamour. The vast 30,000 square foot space has recently undergone a multimillion dollar renovation and is now the permanent home of Omaha Fashion Week, the Midwest’s premier fashion event. The Omaha Design Center offers couples the flexibility to be creative and a magazine-quality backdrop for wedding photography. The overall vibe is mid-century modern with an urban edge.
The Event Space. Boasting polished concrete floors, stunning chandeliers, velvet and sheer curtains and trendy furnishings, this blank-canvas event space can host up to 1500 guests. It can be set up for ceremonies, receptions and banquets and decorated according to your taste—the only limit is your imagination. The vast floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic city views. The lighting design is colorful and atmospheric and the ambience is hip with a touch of luxury.
Alongside the main space, Omaha Design Center provides bridal and groom’s suites, which wedding parties can use for their pre-wedding preparations. There is also an exterior patio, a reception area and a full kitchen for use by caterers.
What You Should Know
The Omaha Design Center offers to-be-weds the personalized services of its professional in-house staff. To begin, couples fill in an online inquiry form and then the team contacts them to discuss specific requirements. The wedding venue package at Omaha Design Center includes exclusive use of the event space and staging, tables and chairs, high-tech lighting, a sound system and audiovisual equipment, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi. Valet parking and event security are available at an extra cost.
The Omaha Design Center is a venue-only wedding location that offers creative couples the freedom to design the wedding of their dreams. Catering is provided by external caterers chosen by the couple and the planning staff assists you in selecting vendors who provide the best fit for your event by providing a list of approved caterers. The team can also help you identify other vendors such as florists, photographers and entertainers.
This sleek venue is the permanent host of Omaha Fashion Week. Every year, 55 designers showcase their latest work at what has become the nation’s fifth largest fashion event. This event has cemented the venue’s on-trend ambience and gives fashionistas an extra reason to select Omaha Design Center for their wedding celebrations. Couples can "strike a pose" and imbue their wedding photography with a designer edge. Alongside the main space, Omaha Design Center features an art gallery. We had our winter wedding and reception at the Design Center in Dec 2017 and loved everything! MJ was amazing to work with on setup and Sam, their caterer, served the most delicious food. We got so many compliments on the Venue and it was sooo easy to have everything in one place and be the only people there. The Rooftop photos were so fun too! I would definitely recommend The Omaha Design Center. The only thing we had an issue with was the bartenders not following instructions as to when to open and not to serve shots, hopefully they are getting that straightened out internally though.
My husband and I fell in love with this venue for our wedding a couple of weeks ago! It is absolutely stunning, perfect size for large weddings, and very customizable! We booked with them before a big management change, and they made it so easy! They accommodated everything we were promised and held meetings with us to make sure we didn't fall through the cracks from old management. We received so many compliments on the size and beauty of this venue, it was absolutely perfect!! Thank you Katie and the rest of the ODC team for taken care of such a big day for us and our family's!
MJ/Katie/ODC team were amazing in transforming such a beautiful blank space into our dream wedding venue!! The amentities included are fabulous and the space truly can be transformed into anything you envision. They were very flexible in helping us choose the perfect bar package and even allowed us to be the bartenders for a portion of the night (instead of a dollar dance). I would absolutely recommend ODC to any bride/groom looking to have a beautiful ceremony/reception venue all in one!

We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at ODC and it was fantastic! The staff was great to work with throughout the planning process especially Katie. She was quick to respond to emails and phone calls. On the day of the wedding, Katie was there and was extremely attentive. She was always making sure there was nothing I needed. The space was fantastic. We only had 120 guests but we were still able to fill the space. The decor was great and made for great photo ops. We were even able to go on the roof for sunset photos. The only thing that was a slight negative was the bride/groom suites were extremely warm. They did have fans in there for us to use, but it was hot. Overall great experience, and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a modern event venue!
This place is amazing! We has our wedding there and everything was perfect. The venue is already so beautiful that you don’t need to do a ton of outside decorations. The staff is so wonderful and helpful. They go above and beyond before, during and after the wedding. I couldn’t be happier that we chose this location. All of our guest commented on how beautiful the venue was. I highly recommend.
My brother and his wife got married at the Omaha Design Center this last Sunday 9/4/2016. It was absolutely the best wedding I have ever been to! The Venue was so incredible, they set up all the chairs and stage for the actual wedding ceremony with white curtains that surrounded the area with great lights for decoration! They set up all the tables and stage for the reception and worked with both families the night before and day of to make it perfect for the bride and groom. Not only was the venue gorgeous but the staff definitely made it a great experience. Many of them worked the 14 hours that we were there the day of to make sure that everything went off without a hitch. Robert and Azelia were two of the people who we dealt with most, they helped with all aspects of getting the venue ready for us and also made sure we were all comfortable. I can’t say enough about this venue and the staff involved but they definitely made a night for my family that we will never forget! Thanks Omaha Design Center!
My daughter and son-in-law were recently married at ODC and we had their reception at this venue, too. They were very accommodating and gave us more than originally planned. How often does that happen? Thanks to Azalia and Robert for ensuring we had a great experience. I would recommend this venue for your next event.
We had our reception at the Omaha Design Center. We originally booked when it was the Tip Top Ballroom. The transition between companies was pretty smooth in the beginning. Unfortunately, their event manager was virtually impossible to get ahold of and would sometimes take several weeks to respond to a simple question. It was very difficult having one phone number and one email to one person to be in contact with all that is ODC. We had a lot of questions up in the air as we reached close to the date. She was very sweet and wanted to be helpful, however it seems she is overloaded with customers and requests. It would have been nice to have another contact for easy questions to help the event manager prioritize or get simple issues resolved easily. We felt that several of our requests were not noted or heeded to as we reached the day we could set up and therefore had to go with the flow at that point. While the event manager was very kind and did answer our questions once we got ahold of her, we did not receive much help or offer to fix something when it was not as we had planned. It was very helpful once we gained the contact of Robert Mota. He was exceptional in making sure our event was what we had envisioned and had quick turn around when we had any issues or had things left at the venue after the wedding. We appreciated being able to consistently get ahold of him and his immediate need to make sure any issues were solved and fixed to the best of his ability in such a short time frame. While it was stressful not being able to easily get ahold of the venue, the space truly is beautiful and we had several compliments from our guests and vendors that the venue was gorgeous, spacious, and provided for a wonderful evening. We would recommend the ODC as a reception venue, however, I urge management to come up with a solution to be able to return calls and emails in a more reasonable timeline.
The venue was beautiful and great location. Their event manager did not get back to us in a timely manner with questions. Not sure if it was because we were part of the Tip Top transition or what. The event manager didn't offer to help with anything the night of either. She greeted us and that was it. There was no follow up of any kind.
