liant and really helped us customize how we wanted our wedding to go. I cannot say enough good things about Patrick. He really did an amazing job and made our wedding very special.

My husband and I had a very bad experience with Patrick. We had a very small and very laid back wedding and 90% of the stress that I experienced planning this wedding was due to working with Patrick. He was not flexible on scheduling our final ...
walk-through 60 days before the wedding. We were unable to make any of the times he offered as we live 2 1/2 hours away. Finally, after much begging, he agreed to do it over the phone 2 weeks before our wedding date. The morning of our scheduled call rolls around and my husband tries to call him. No answer. He calls two more times; still no answer. It took four tries for him to pick up and then ask "Where are you guys?". We had it in writing that this was to be an over-the-phone meeting and he was waiting for us to show up. After that, things just got ridiculous. I got radio silence from him every time I tried to reach out with a question. It got to the point where my parents had to physically go to the venue and sit him down and ask my questions and get extra charges he had added onto our bill without my consent taken off. Then comes the week of the wedding. 3 days before the wedding I get an email from him saying that he "tried playing [the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to] with no luck- bummed." BUMMED. He didn't even try to offer a solution or ask if he could do anything; just sent me into a panic mere days before the wedding. You can ask anyone involved in my wedding, this was the only thing I stressed about before the day of. Then comes the wedding day itself. Ceremony (remarkably) goes off without a hitch. But the reception had issues, all thanks to Patrick. First, the bridal party had it sprung on us that we were doing a dancing entrance that we did not request. Second, we specifically told him numerous times that we would not be doing a garter toss, but he still had it on the reception timeline. My husband had to go speak with him and make sure he wasn't going to cue a garter toss. After that, we had three people lined up to give speeches during the toasts section of our reception and had specifically told him that we were opting out of giving a speech ourselves as we both have rather bad anxiety about public speaking and being the center of attention. But what does Patrick do? After the last scheduled speech, he walks up to me in front of all the seated guests and says "your turn". I was and still am positively livid. It is not mandatory for the bride and groom to give a speech and forcing two individuals with horrible anxiety to speak in front of a room of people is just cruel. Every interaction I had with him over the course of planning and the day of the wedding left a bitter taste in my mouth. What was the point of the final walk-through where we went over all the details of the reception if he wasn't going to listen to our requests at all? Patrick is also the owner of Shenandoah Mill, the venue out of which he does most of his work. The venue itself is gorgeous and I highly recommend it. However, if they offer you the "full service" package. Don't purchase it. It includes DJ, florist, photographer, and venue. And none of that is worth the money they're asking for it and Patrick will make you miserable. Learn from us and book a DJ that won't screw you over.

You kept us on time and made everything so entertaining! The games were so much fun, the music was fantastic and you kept our guests engaged and active throughout the night! I lost count of how many compliments were given about your fun and professional leading of the night! Michael and I will definitely be recommending you to family and friends for their future events ☺

My wife and I just recently booked Patrick for our wedding last March. We can't express enough thanks for his professionalism and for helping make our wedding the best night ever. I too DJ for a living as well and have so for almost 7 years now...
. I currently hold some of the most coveted club residencies in the state. Not only do I DJ some of the best clubs in Scottsdale but also have DJ more weddings than I can count. In other words I know a good DJ when I see/hear one! When we met with our venue, Vila Siena, there was no way I could even consider not booking Patrick. I could have easily booked dozens of other DJs that are very good but, I didn't need good, I needed the best for the best day of my life. Sure enough Patrick came through and made our wedding exciting and a night that we will never forget. He has such a powerful mic presence that draws the crowd in and keeps people entertained which is important to me. Once again thank you Patrick!

I should preface this review with the statement that I worked in the event industry for 14 years and have worked with over 50 DJs in that time. When I learned this was a family business (Mom & Dad own the venue, Patrick is their son, and their ...
daughter is the photographer), I felt a lot of pressure to use Patrick. Especially since Patrick was also the “event manager” that came with the package we purchased. Never have I come across someone so rude, unprofessional, and condescending as Patrick. As a paying customer, you expect some level of respect, but Patrick Riedlinger refuses to come down off his high horse to give you any. I should also say that I was about as NON-bridezilla as you could get. I never had issues with ANY other vendors except for Patrick. He is by far the worst vendor I have ever come across in my 14 years in events. Pre-wedding issues:Patrick tried to overcharge me several times. Once for the venue ($2k!),three times for the linens, and then for beverage dispensers he said I could use. When I asked him to use a free music program to play my music playlist, he refused, saying he had all the songs. He then sent me his DJ planner sheet to fill out (which apparently he never read, which I will get to during the “day of issues”). He never got in touch with me and basically only responded about money or when I wrote him several times.Patrick, the “event manager” didn’t even bother to show up for the rehearsal. Day of issues: Patrick, the “event manager”, refused to help set up for my wedding even though we paid for the venue and the event manager. Patrick not only gave my helpers attitude, but he would not help them when he was asked to get something or show someone where something was. He was playing circus music when people were setting up and when my maid of honor asked him to play my playlist, he said he never got one from me. He scowled at my father and mother and did not even say HELLO to me. I’m not expecting a “you look pretty in your dress” or anything like that, but not even a hello? We repeatedly told him that my husband is from a foreign country and had NO family here. During the introductions he continued to ask our guests who was on the groom’s side. You could hear crickets. He did not play the mother/son dance. He did not play the Ken/Barbie game. He did not do the bouquet toss until someone mentioned it to him and by that time all the single women had left.At 9:30pm announced to everyone that the party was over and the bar was closing. We had the venue until 11pm and the OPEN bar was wide open. Who tells people to leave a wedding? He was rude to several guests who came up to me to complain about him.Several people said that he was a horrible DJ and he wasn’t trying at all. Then when he spoke, he was trying TOO hard, like he wasn’t comfortable in front of people. He never got the crowd going or laughing. The whole point of a DJ is to get the crowd excited and dancing. He played the songs HE wanted to play and didn’t care about the playlist, which had songs on there that meant a lot to us. Obviously Patrick does not enjoy his job, nor is he good at it. This is apparent with his attitude and comes across in his performance. When you are in charge of the energy of the party, you fake it. Even if you’re in a bad mood, you fake it.For the most important day in someone elses life, you fake it.Stay far away!

When my husband and I were looking for DJ's, we weren't all that picky. As long as they played music we liked, we were fine. After we met with Patrick, the owner of Platinum Day Entertainment, I think we both realized that there is a huge diffe...
rence between a mediocre DJ and a great DJ, who really enjoys what they do. Patrick explained what he does, what he's all about, and why he's different from other companies. We absolutely loved him! He's also hilarious! He assigned DJ Damien to work our wedding, and he was great also. He was willing to meet up with us and go over our song selections and the timeline for the day. He made great suggestions on when to do which activities, and he suggested the Ken & Barbie game, which was a whole lot of fun and a huge hit with all the guests! When it came to the actual wedding day, he transitioned between the songs for the ceremony perfectly. He also had a great stage presence and can really capture the attention of the crowd; he isn't afraid to take charge when needed but still allowed the spot light to be on us. He had confidence when talking to a new, random group of people on a microphone. I don't think I could do that! :) Platinum Day was also reasonably priced for an outstanding service, and I would highly recommend them to any couple still in search of a DJ for their special day!

ia text and email. He was friendly and understood what we were trying to achieve at our wedding reception on 10/12/12. His company also runs a Photo booth, in which they set it up, an attendant runs it (Spencer was our attendant and he was very friendly) all night and your guests leave with a copy of the photo and you get one as well in a scrapbook that very night. It also comes with a disc of all the images of everyone. It is the best deal ever! DJ Patrick had everything in order, from our song choices, to getting our Bridal party ready for their grand entrances to set the tone of the night, to making sure we were sticking to the schedule, to just making sure everyone was having a great night. I appreciate all that Platinum Day Entertainment brought to our wedding day. It was amazing!

ely personable, helpful and understanding when I didn't know exactly what I wanted. He pointed me in the right direction so that I could really tell him what would make the day perfect for me. He had a lot of suggestions (most of which we used) for format to help with the flow of the evening. I actually had one of my guests tell me that it was probably the most organized wedding she'd ever been to. I really think that Ken helped a lot in that department keeping everything going without rushing anything!

Would not recommend them. From the beginning, I expressed there needed to be Mexican music at my wedding. Patrick was supposed to book his hispanic dj since he had a better variety of music. Two weeks before the wedding I was told the other DJ...
was booked for another event. Patrick informed me he had some music but not a big variety. My sister put together a list of songs and when I sent the list to Patrick he then asked me if I had them downloaded somewhere because he didn't want to spend $40 on songs. He never attempted to get the songs, he ended up playing the same songs over and over throughout the night. My guests at the wedding had only one complaint about the whole day and it was about Patrick the DJ and how he was a jerk and totally sucked. I was really disappointed because during the planning stage Patrick was great and understood what I wanted. It seemed like after he had my money nothing else mattered. Fortunately, my family and friends know how to have a good time so they had fun anyway.

ve him a song list that I wanted to be played, literally every song that I wanted played and in what order to play them in. He came up to me after dinner, and asked if it was ok if he shuffled all the songs around. Not something that I wanted to think about at that time, which is why I spent three months making the playlist. Also, I had given him introductions to read out for our bridal party entrances, and he must not have even looked them over before he read them, because he made mistakes on every single person's introduction. He pronounced simple words wrong, and he literally read off the paper that I gave him, so he sounded like a recording. Also, I booked them nine months in advance, and at the end they tried to sneak some fees in.

We booked with Platinum Day in June for our March wedding after meeting them at a bridal expo. Two weeks before our wedding we were contacted by the owner DJ Patrick because there had been some mix-up and we were not getting the DJ we had orig...
inally booked. I don't know exactly what the mix-up was or why another party got priority over ours especially because we booked so far in advance but for some reason we were given another dj that had far less experience than the one we had originally booked. They did say they wanted to compensate us for the switch and to let the new dj know what we wanted when we met with him. The only thing we asked for was lapel microphones for the groom and officiant for the ceremony. This is something we were told would be included but each dj has their own equipment and the new dj didn't have any so really we were only asking for what we had already been promised it wasn't much compensation. That being said, we STILL didn't have the lapel microphones for the ceremony. I was the bride and was busy with other things so I'm not sure what happened with that I just know we didn't get them even though they were promised. Then during our meeting we had specifically said "this music is very important to us" referring to the prelude and processional music. And of course, not one of our prelude songs was played. My husband's name is Lex, it is different but not very difficult to say. The dj could NOT get it right. It got to the point that his brother got pissed off and went up and told the dj to stop butchering his name and just call him the groom. My parents spent literally thousands of dollars on dancing lessons so that we could have a choreographed first dance. The dj decided to start the song in the middle of the song instead of the beginning which threw the whole choreography off. My parents were so disappointed. After the first dance I was to give a toast, again we went over all of this during our meeting and I provided a typed timeline and playlist, so I'm not sure how it could get lost is translation but it did. The wedding planner had to tell the dj "the bride's doing a toast (aka give her the microphone)" instead he went "yeah to the bride and groom whoo". I had to go up to him and actually grab the microphone out of his hand. We had provided a playlist of specific songs for both the dinner and reception. He didn't follow it at all. We asked for rat pack music and classic rock for dinner and got crap r&b you couldn't pay us to listen to. Oh but that's right we had to pay them. There was also supposed to be a final dance which never got played. I spent hours putting together the right combination of music and they ruined all of that hard work but not being prepared or concientious. It was like the meeting we had with the dj never took place. And he was a terrible MC too. I feel like we would have been better off (and have more money) if we had just used an ipod.
