My wife, who ran late to the wedding, was disappointed he didn't get a photo of her (or her mother) entering the church. We didn't directly request that specific photo, but did request he get photos of people entering the church. He did however take a couple of additional shots we hadn't discussed, so I feel like he performed very well.

Every time we asked him, he either ignored us or told us “by Friday” or “next week” but of course that was a lie. He eventually posted the rest of our pictures (unedited) since we kept badgering him. He promised a refund so we sent our PayPal info, and still nothing. We sent the prints we would like and was told 2 months ago that they’d be coming shortly, along with the flash drive of all edited phots, still nothing. Ladies, save the time and headache and hire someone else please! I see some women posting good reviews but it seems like they have only received the preview. I was still pretty happy with Arief at that point too. But he’s a con artist. He takes your money and doesn’t complete his end of the contract. DO NOT HIRE HIM, you will regret it. This is the most beautiful day of the rest of your life and you want photos that can help you remember how special it was. So hire someone else.

, a few more weeks, tried to say that he was hacked, then went straight to ignoring me. I threatened to sue him and finally got my pictures. I have been in contact with NUMEROUS brides who have not received their images STILL. Brides that were married in September still haven’t heard from him. And the cherry on top, he was doing business as “Harlan Photography” but because his page on Facebook was getting so many bad reviews he changed it to “Positively Photo and Video” Without notifying any of his clients and left off the option to leave reviews on Facebook. He also has another photography company “Louisiana Sports Photography”... DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN. I also spoke with a girl that was told he had hired someone else to shoot a wedding for him, and when she contacted that other guy about her photos he said Arief had been ignoring him also and never paid him. Don’t hire him. He needs to be shut down. My heart goes out to the couples that will never see their wedding photos. CHECK YOUR CONTRACT FOR A DELIVERY BY DATE TOO! He’s slick in the way of conveniently leaving it out.

I also wanted sunset photos outside with my husband which was the whole point of why we got married at a certain time. Arief told me we can come back and take photos later. He never pulled my husband and I to take individual photos. I’m so happy I had a videographer there because HE posed us and told us he wanted shots of us outside. If he wasn’t there, Arief would of robbed me of beautiful photos to cherish. After the wedding I called my mom crying because I was beyond upset at the photographers performance. My family & I cherish photos like gold. He did NOT do his job or what he claims to do. We also got married 4 months ago and have yet to hear anything from the photographer on a status of the photos. He was getting bad reviews for two whole months (brides saying it’s been 5-8 months with no photos and him ignoring them), and decided to completely remove his reviews so no one can see them , and then days later completely deleted his photography page. He did not reach out to let me, a paid customer know the website is gone and that he started a new photography business under a different name (went from Harlan photography to positively photo & video). He also posts every day on his sports page but can’t even message back brides. PLEASE beware! It feels like my special moment is being robbed and not worth the money for all this hassle.

We host multiple night weddings at our venue due to our outside scenery and tree lighting, and so I thoroughly enjoy viewing Arief’s photos taken at our venue, and all of his photos of course! I have built a great professional relationship with Harlan Photography, and I recommend them to my clients. They know what they’re doing when they shoot weddings, and that’s always very helpful to wedding coordinators like myself! They’re so easy to work with, in addition to being very patient with me and the clients. I have done a few weddings with them and look forward to doing many more!

gh good things about this team. Super reasonable prices, amazing photos, so professional and definitely made us feel very comfortable. Couldn’t ask for more!

ned my top three issues with this photographer below. 1. For my bridal session, Arief's assistant was actively on Pinterest looking for pose ideas. Although I got some good shots because of this, they should have come prepared with ideas for shots instead of spending time during my session looking at other photographers' work for inspiration. I thought this was unprofessional and conveyed inexperience. 2. I found Arief and his team to have very timid personalities and had issues taking charge and directing everyone for shots. The Knot states that he works off a shot list, but when I asked about this during our first phone conversation, Arief neither agreed nor denied that he worked off a shot list but stated, "We get your typical wedding shots." To assure I got the photos I wanted, I gave him and his team a list of the photos I wanted with everyone's names. As a bride, I didn't want the burden of having to arrange my bridal party and family members for those crucial shots, but I still ended up having to do that (along with the help of my MOH) because neither Arief nor his assistant were very efficient in the process of calling people up for shots, even with a list in hand, ultimately delaying my husband and I getting to our reception. 3. I have several photos taken by the second photographer that are ruined due to harsh sunlight. When I asked why my family wasn't moved to another location for better lighting, it was initially made out to be the fault of my family, stating that they wanted to stay in the area, so the photographer thought she had to work with what they wanted. Because I wasn't around while these photos were taking place immediately prior to the ceremony, I asked my husband about this. My family never demanded to stay in the area, and more importantly, it was never suggested to them by the photographer that they move to another location for better lighting. A professional photographer should have known the sun was too harsh and would produce bad photos, and she shouldn't have continued taking photos in this area. When I asked Arief if these photos could be fixed, it was admitted to me that with more time spent on editing, the light could be balanced better. Why this wasn't done in the first place? My assumption is that he cares more about a quick turnaround time than he does about the quality of his photos. I had some other minor editing issues, but this took the cake. Arief assumed responsibility and agreed to fix these photos along with a few others. Four months later, I still didn't have fixed photos, so I asked for a refund. Ultimately, my photos weren't fixed, and I settled for a $200 refund that Arief was quick to agree to because he wasn't sure when he'd be able to "get to them." To me, this indicated that he takes no pride in his work. The level of experience this team possessed and the quality of their photos are true reflections of the low prices and quick turnaround times on which they pride themselves. The ONLY reason I gave 2 stars instead of just 1 is because you get access to all of your photos free of any additional charges. Looking back now, I wish I would have spent a little more money on a more experienced wedding photographer.

solutely adored the photographer we got! Then on our wedding day Arief himself and another photographer got every shot I could have ever wanted!!! My pictures are stunning and I love the download option! I am so grateful to have had this experience and to have these memories to look back on. Face it you never get to see everything at your own wedding, but I can look at all these amazing pictures and get a glimpse. Thank you Harlan Photography for absolute perfection!!!!!
