As Garment Care Coordinator, I have the pleasure of working with brides, families, and the Pratt Abbott wedding team to make sure that everything about your wedding dress is perfect for your big day. I coordinate the pick-up or drop-off of wedding garments, communicate with venues and stylists, and oversee the cleaning, preparation and preservation of all wedding garments. After reading other stellar reviews of Angela Emery and the team at Pratt Abbott, I knew I would be in good hands. I brought them my gorgeous (but pretty heavily soiled!) wedding dress and cathedral-length veil after our August wedding in Maine. It was an outdoor ceremony and reception the day after a hurricane, so not only was there a 6-inch coating of mud and dirt up the hem of the dress, I also had some self-tanner staining in the underarms. My veil, which I had dragged around the woods and meadows for photography, had everything from burrs to bugs tangled up in it.
The deep, careful cleaning process took a few months, but I was in no hurry to get my dress back. When I was able to pick it up, I was stunned at the job Angela and the team had done. My dress looked just like d the day I had taken it home from my final fitting! I'm still deciding what I want to do with it, but if I decide to preserve it, I'll definitely bring it back to Angela!

Pratt Abbott is incredible and such a great cleaners for out of town brides. Traveling with my dress on the plane left it a bit wrinkled and I was nervous to use a cleaner I've never used before on such an important garment and day but based on the reviews I went for it and I'm so glad I did. They take such great care of your dress and even package it up for you in a way that you can easily carry it back (a must for taking the ferry) and then when you let it down it's completely smooth and perfect. Highly recommend for any bride!

Pratt Abbott was the vendor I chose for my first daughter, so I chose them again for my second daughter. Communication for the second was not as well communicated ,so when I went to pick up the dress I was not ready for the price quoted! They do a great job so i know sometimes things just happen

I brought my wedding dress here after the ceremony to get professionally cleaned. Angela was wonderful to work with and got back to quickly via email. I did spring for the preservation box which took a long time to receive and get back to me (they did quote me 12 weeks and it took around 15 weeks due to lack of preservation boxes. That being said, when the dress arrived the box was beautiful and the dress was properly cleaned in a timely manner (in other words, they didn't clean the dress until they received the preservation box). As a local and family owned company - I'd return my things back to them!

Outstanding job pressing our wedding day clothes! The staff at Pratt Abbott were so kind and took us in on fairly short notice. They did a beautiful job pressing my gown - tulle and beading weren’t the easiest to work with, but they knocked it out of the park. They also made sure my husband’s suit was flawless for pictures.

I brought my mother’s Belgian lace veil to see if Pratt Abbott could revive it from its origin in 1955 It was so stained The work they did on it to bring it back to its original beauty was exceptional Our daughters are so proud to carry on the tradition of wearing their grandmother’s veil and it’s just beautiful

Pratt Abbott in South Portland did some emergency cleaning and pressing for my son in law to be the day before his wedding with a very quick turnaround. The staff was pleasant and understanding and went the extra mile to get it done. My daughter took her dress there to be cleaned and preserved, again the staff was great with good communication.

Pratt Abbott cleaned my wedding dress really well. Their intake process was easy. They want to make sure they've noted all the dirty bits (and there will be...plenty), and that you agree. It may take some time, but I was dine with that -- the wedding was over! I have my dress back and it looks lovely!

Couldn’t recommend Pratt Abbott in Yarmouth, ME enough. About a week before my wedding I was at my final fitting and somehow something black got on the front of my dress. In a panic I immediately brought the dress to Pratt Abbott to see if they could get the stain out. The staff at the store was incredibly helpful and Angela did an amazing job in less than a week! The dress came back in perfect condition with the stain removed and it looked beautiful. I also used Pratt Abbott to preserve my wedding dress and couldn’t be happier with the results.

They did a great job cleaning my dress and getting it back to me on time. Everyone was super friendly and careful when returning my dress. The only hitch was that they replaced some buttons on the back of my dress, and accidentally sewed some of the buttons into my zipper, so my dress no longer zipped up. I was able to identify the problem and fix it pretty easily with a seam ripper and some white thread, but that's the only thing keeping my review from being 5-stars.

We selected Pratt Abbott Garmet Care to clean our daughter's wedding dress. They did a FABULOUS job!! The folks at Pratt Abbott were so nice and saw I was nervous about dropping that very special dress off! Due to COVID, I'll be wearing my dress twice! I wore it in October for a small backyard ceremony (where it rained) so the bottom of my dress was muddy and had pine needles in the lace. I dropped it off at Pratt Abbott and once I received it back it looked brand new! They even took care of my personalized hanger. Not going to lie I was definitely nervous about just dropping it off at a dry cleaner, I figured I have to go to a specialized wedding dress cleaner, but Pratt Abbott was great. Definitely recommend!

After my son and daughter in laws wedding I wanted to be sure she would have her dress for years to come. I initially sent it to Pratt Abbott to get it cleaned and then was asked if we would like to preserve it. I was so glad they offered this service as I had my own preserved years ago so I thought I would get it done for her. They did a great job and it is now safely cleaned and preserved in a storage box. They were very helpful as well as timely. It definitely puts your mind at ease to know it’s all taken care of for perhaps another wedding day!

Pratt Abbott did wonders on my dress! I got married outside, back in September and it was super dry out so the entire bottom of my dress and train was brown/grey looking from all the dust/dirt. I went in with low expectations because it was really bad and the sequence in my dress was all knotted from dancing the night away but I have to say I was blown away by how clean they got it and they took care in sorting out the knotted pieces of sequence! I also spoke to Angela Emery before and she walked me through the whole process and explained all of the options and helped me narrow down exactly what I wanted to do! They gave me a time frame for how long they expected it to be finished and they completed it a couple weeks early!! Overall, I highly recommend Angela and Pratt Abbott for any and all of your wedding gown needs both before and after the wedding!!

Pratt Abbott did an amazing job cleaning my wedding dress. We had a reimagined backyard ceremony and reception during covid and the bottom of the dress had a bit of dirt and stains by the end of the evening. Pratt Abbott’s wedding dress cleaning team made it look like new. I was able to resell the dress and included the cleaning certificate that Pratt Abbott provided to increase the resale value.

I was very nervous about trusting my wedding dress with anyone! But communicating back and forth with Angela and then chatting with the young lady who did the intake on my dress in Windham all help put me to ease. They were so easy to work with and my dress came back like it was brand new! The dress was pretty dirty from my mountainside wedding and you couldn't even tell I dragged it up and down the wet mountain and then dance the night away in it. I really appreciate how easy it was to drop off and pick up (since I could drop it off in my town although the cleaning took place at another location). Thank you!

Pratt Abbott was amazing with my dress!! My mom made my dress so there were no special care directions but they did amazing with my dress!! Everyone was super friendly, thorough, and went over every inch of my dress with me (and there where a lot of layers!). I waited longer than I should have to finally get my wedding dress preserved. I felt like it was the final memory still lingering to be sealed away for later.
