ABOUT US We’re Rachel and Mark Reynolds, a husband-and-wife team living on the edge of the El Dorado National Forest in beautiful Pollock Pines, California. Surrounded by the heart of Gold Country, from the shimmering waters of Lake Tahoe to the vibrant Bay Area, we’re constantly inspired by the world around us—and the people who fill it with meaning. Rachel’s journey as a photographer began in 1995 when she was just 12 years old. Captivated by her grandparents’ photo albums—windows into their lives and legacies—she started capturing stills on film and filling her own family photo albums. She wanted to continue that tradition, preserving stories for future generations. In 2014, Rachel officially launched her photography business, but life took an unexpected turn when her first husband fell ill. After his passing in 2016, she was more determined than ever to help people hold onto their most meaningful memories. By 2017, she relaunched her business with a renewed purpose: to capture life as it truly is—real, unfiltered, and unforgettable. In 2020, Rachel met Mark through their shared love of music while playing together on the worship team at Pollock Pines Community Church. What began as a connection through faith grew into a partnership rooted in love, creativity, and shared values. The two were married in 2022 and brought their love story into their work. Together, they’ve built something that’s as much about people and connection as it is about art. Our story together is one of love, loss, faith, and resilience. In May 2024, Mark’s 14-year-old son, Haven, was tragically killed in a car accident. Mark and our daughter Ophelia survived the crash, but it was a painful reminder of how fleeting life can be. Our photography and films are deeply personal to us. We understand how fragile life is and how important it is to hold onto the moments that matter most. We’re here to capture your story as it truly unfolds—real, unfiltered, and uniquely yours—because love and connection are what last forever.

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Rachel for our wedding in Lake Tahoe this past August, and we can’t recommend her enough! From the very beginning, Rachel impressed us with her warmth, professionalism, and incredible ability to make us feel completely at ease in front of the camera. Our engagement photos with her were a joy, and that same magic carried through to our wedding day. Rachel truly has a gift for storytelling through her photography. Rachel and Mark are absolutely amazing! We booked them for our wedding in August 2024, and they quickly became our favorite and most standout vendor. From the very beginning, I knew they were the perfect fit for us. I spoke with Rachel prior to booking, and she provided so much valuable information—without hesitation, we booked them for both our wedding photography and videography. During our engagement session, Rachel made us feel incredibly comfortable, and the whole experience was so much fun. On our wedding day, everything was perfect! Rachel and Mark had us laughing and enjoying every moment as they captured our special day. All of our guests even mentioned how amazing our photography team was. If you’re looking for a wedding photo and video team, seriously, look no further! Rachel and Mark are the best!

Rachel and Mark are FANTASTIC at what they do and so FUN to work with! My husband and I did not have a lot of experience with getting professional photos done before but from the initial zoom call we felt comfortable and that we could be ourselves with Rachel and Mark. During our engagement photo session Rachel took the time to listen to us and understand our vision and guide us along the way while putting her own spin on it and we are so glad she did. She is truly an EXPERT and without her direction I know our photos and session would not have been the same. Once we got the photos back we knew without a doubt we had made the right decision. The photos were INCREDIBLE and really captured who we are as a couple. When it came to the wedding, Rachel and Mark (along with 2 others) showed up on time, came prepared and kept us on schedule throughout the day. They captured every detail of the day even down to my ugly cry face during our first look that I swore I was not going to be crying at. We have only seen a sneak peak from the wedding photos and we are already OVER THE MOON with the work they have done. We can not wait to see the rest of the photos from the wedding but more importantly we can not wait for more important times in our lives when we will need a photographer or videographer because we already know who we will call. There is so much to say about the quality of work from both Rachel & Mark. Starting with the engagement photo shoot, Rachel was so easy to work with and really helped us with poses and ideas, as my fiancé and I are a bit camera shy. She ventured with us through El Dorado National Forest for our dream snowy photoshoot and even captured some amazing golden hour shots. We were in awe with how much we loved doing a photoshoot! Our final details meeting before the wedding was easy and quick. Her questionnaire asks all necessary questions and made the process as easy and transparent as possible. Then comes the wedding day… we warned her & her husband Mark about some family issues and they worked with us to make sure the photo process was as seamless as could be. They were so positive and kind, kept a smile on their face despite some sideways comments from a few family members annoyed with having to take pictures. They were both on time, ready, and offered suggestions on additional poses and additional pictures. The drone shot with everyone was a huge hit with our guests AND worked to get everyone down to the dance floor!! Kudos for the creativity!! Overall, we had the best experience with Rachel & Mark and couldn’t have been more satisfied. Rachel provided sneak peek pictures SO QUICKLY after our wedding and we already fell in love with them. Thank you for everything!!

Rachel and Mark are phenomenal! Our proposal + engagement photoshoot and filming went well! We looove how our photos came out and so did our family. We are excited to have the duo capture our wedding and film it. They are super communicative, flexible, and love brainstorming fun ideas with them. Highly recommend them to our friends and family. 🫶

I could go on and go about how absolutely PHENOMENAL Rachel and Mark are. The photos and video speak for themselves, but they are just die to for. I'm ordinarily a somewhat self-conscious person and was expecting to look back at my wedding photos and nit-pick at how I looked during the day, but I didn't! The pictures turned out so wonderfully that somehow Rachel and Mark have managed to make me feel beautiful!!! I absolutely love all the photos, and the video is just so touching and perfect. Rachel was so supportive and by my side the entire day, while Mark was taking all the photos of guests mingling, decor and other details. Rachel was great to communicate with and just so easy to work with. I really feel like we got to know each other even through our email exchanges before meeting in person on the day of the wedding. I simply cannot recommend Rachel and Mark enough. I am constantly browsing through our wedding photos and love being able to look back fondly on the day. Thank you so much for making our wedding memories perfect.

I dont even know where to begin these two! My husband meet with Rachael before it became Rachael and Mark and let me say, Rachel and Mark were my dream team! They were very professional, fun and upbeat! I had a small meltdown regarding my dress ( zipper) and Rachael kept me calm and was able to caputure the moment in such a beautiful way! So much that if a stranger were to see the pictures they would assume it was just the bride getting ready. They captured moments during the reception that I didnt even think anyone was around to see! They were able to truly see us, and have all the emotion come through the photos, the laughs, the tears, the nerves.. you name it! So if you're looking for your dream team, call them! Book them! The outcome of it will amaze you and you'll have a lifetime of memories to last forever!

I do not even know where to begin with this review. Rachel (of Rachel & Mark Photography) is THE BEST photographer I could have ever asked for, and is an incredible person, as well! I booked Rachel in 2019 for my wedding in Fall 2020. We were able to do an engagement photoshoot in the Oakland redwoods and the photos turned out absolutely gorgeous! Rachel is a true pro and really captures the heart of the moment - nothing artificial or forced here! She spent time getting to know me and my fiance so that we would be comfortable in the photos, and was able to do two locations for us. The photos are all amazing and just feel really genuine. I knew I wanted someone who was going to capture us authentically and with minimal adjustments, more of a photo story than a stylized shoot, and that is completely Rachel’s style. Due to COVID-19, we had to reschedule the wedding, and she was incredibly flexible and helpful with suggestions as we went through the re-planning process. In advance of the wedding, she sent over sample photo lists and gave good timing suggestions which really made the day run smoothly. The day of the wedding, Rachel captured everything we asked and more! We received a gorgeous set of sneak peek photos and her photo-journalistic style and beautiful, authentic aesthetic were so present in the first set of photos. Finally, Rachel is a kind and generous person, who is easy to be around and knowledgeable about all things wedding! I honestly could not recommend her enough, and we were so lucky to have her capture our wedding.

Rachel was very friendly and patient with our group of 12 for family photos. She had creative ideas for positioning the group. I appreciated very much how far she had to drive to take our photos and the pricing was extremely reasonable. She made our photo shoot fun & I would highly recommend her!

Rachel was our photographer for our September 2018 wedding. We took photos in South Lake Tahoe and got married in Placerville. Rachel is the most accommodating and real photographer you can get. She takes amazing photos and makes you feel calm while doing so. She doesn’t make anything awkward and is easy to get along with. We have some of the most amazing engagement and wedding photos and are always being complimented on them. Every time we look at our photos or our AMAZING photo book I can’t help but smile. If you want a photographer who will go above and beyond, I’m talking getting into the river to get the best shot, then you want Rachel Fawn Photography!! Can’t recommend her enough!!!!!

Rachel is so much fun to work with!!! I actually found her through a Facebook ad shortly after I got engaged. For once one of those ads led me to something awesome! Her photos in the ad looked so magical; so we set up an appointment to meet to see if we'd be a good fit and it was great! From our first meeting up until the wedding Rachel is very communacative and both my husband and I had a wonderful time working with her! Our (very affordable) package came with an engagement shoot so we got the chance to learn Rachel's style of shooting before the wedding. She's very photo journalistic and will perfectly capture your story! She shoots a lot of photos so you'll have a lot to choose from too. She did an amazing job capturing our special day! She got us sneak peek photos within a few days and the rest of our photos came in about 6 weeks (we were barely back from our honeymoon, so quick)! I'm very happy we found a photographer who worked so great with us! Can't recommend her enough!

When planning our dream wedding(s), one of the best decisions we made was hiring Rachel. I interviewed multiple photographers and Rachel was the only one who put me at ease. Rachel was really able to look at the different styles of photography that we liked and conceptualize ways in which she could capture our multi day wedding in photography that will stand the test of time. Rachel was happy to be taken a little bit out of her comfort zone and experiment with me so that my fiance and I could get exactly what we wanted. I won't say that I was a bridezilla but I will say that I had a very specific vision in mind for what I wanted and Rachel was able to roll with low light scenarios, smoke bombs, champagne being poured from the sky and through all of that take amazing pictures with a wonderful attitude. In addition to delivering amazing photography Rachel really went above and beyond for us including staying in the East Bay for a long holiday weekend so that she could be at multiple events and even trading in some equipment to take better pictures in our low light ceremony after taking test shots during our rehearsal. Our pictures were delivered extremely fast (sneak peak from first wedding on Friday came while we were getting ready for the second wedding on Sunday) and the portfolio with all of our pictures was delivered within 2-3 weeks (we were still on our honeymoon in fact). In the end I can't say enough good things about Rachel and can't recommend her enough.
