He originally aimed for a career in engineering or architecture, then chose to attend Ithaca College’s School of Music. Through R.D. King Music, this guitarist aims to make your wedding music a unique and romantic element of your special celebration. The repertoire of R.D. King Music is a wide one, covering folk, world music, bluegrass, and classical as well as incorporating pop hits. King takes a comprehensive approach when discussing and planning wedding music. My wife and I married on the Odyssey on September 11th of 2022. R.D King did an amazing job - guests are still commenting! R.D. was very easy to work with and was able to offer more or less support (as needed) with song selection for prelude, ...
processional, and recessional. Overall, we chose specific processional songs and the recessional song. We empowered R.D. to choose the prelude music as he was able to make us feel comfortable based on phone conversations/web calls. If we were to do the wedding all over again, we would likely try to incorporate R.D. even more! Very professional to work with and an amazing guitarist. Thanks again R.D!

lready in his extensive repertoire. He was friendly, accommodating, and very responsive throughout the whole process - a top vendor we worked with! Sometimes ceremony/cocktail music is lost in the background with the excitement of the day but not with Russ. His music completely elevated the celebration and made every moment feel even more special. Several of our guests thought the same and raved about him all throughout cocktail hour! Couldn't recommend R.D. King Music more.

erience in hiring a musician, nor picking out music for the day. R.D. was prompt at responding to us, easy to talk to, and had suggestions to make the day go by smoothly. In the end, we picked a song for the procession and the recessional, as well as our first dance song. He was so wonderful that he learned two of the songs to play for us! Our first dance was absolutely magical with him playing guitar. He captured the song perfectly, and it was such a wonderful moment for us :). For the other music of the day, we explained to him the type of music we liked, and he ran with it! So it was minimal planning on our part, and an extraordinary musical experience on his part. Throughout the day (and after), many people came up to us to compliment on how well he played. We couldn't have chosen a better musician. I can't say enough good things about R.D. King, and I highly recommend that you hire him for your event. We're glad we did :)

vity and talent was breathtaking. He was able to cover all the songs we requested (highly recommend Something by the Beatles, my bridal song) and added his beautiful fingerpicking talent. We had considered hiring a trio of strings, but I can say unequivocally, RD King was the way to go.

I'm a Candyrat Records Artist, a TEDx Cambridge performer, winner of the 2017 Canadian Guitar Festival’s International Fingerstyle Competition, and winner of the 2018 Walnut Valley Festival NewSong Showcase (Instrumental Category). I've opened for Grammy-nominated Ari Hest, Andy McKee, and many others. Music changed my life and it's my hope to inspire others in their own lives too. I have 3 albums of original acoustic guitar music available on Spotify, Apple Music, or wherever you find music! I live in Boston where I perform, teach, and explore the evolution of consciousness through sound.
