Tom is very kind and did a fantastic job.
Ahead of time, he sent me a copy of his classic ceremony speech/outline, and wanted us to feel able to alter it in anyway we please so it would still feel like our own. We did not end up changing it t...hough because even though it was his "generic" outline, he still says his speech with a lot of heartfelt meaning and that spoke to my husband and I.
I was nervous picking an officiant that I wouldn't be able to meet with before the rehearsal, but as soon as we met he felt like family. The day before the ceremony he stayed with us and practiced repeatedly until we felt comfortable and not nervous anymore. Also, every vendor on the island knew Tom! He was used to doing weddings at all the venues and working with other people that we're making our special day happen. This was a huge advantage!
He was so welcoming and genuine, and more importantly, was great and guiding my husband and I on what to do during the ceremony and when signing papers. My husband ended up naming the teddy bear we gave our ring bearer, "Tom".
