Roger played for our outdoor wedding on a very cold West Michigan October day. He played beautifully for the wedding and through the reception, despite the weather challenge. He was a joy to work with and made helpful suggestions based on the types of music we wanted. If you’re looking for wedding guitar, we highly recommend him. I want to add that, while considering retaining him for our October 2018 wedding, I noted the July 2018 review on The Knot, saying that he had not shown up for one event (the only blemish in the many reviews we saw about him) – I asked him about it, and he was very understanding about why I would raise it and gave me an honest and candid explanation about the nature of the mistake, which left me with comfort that we had nothing to worry about (even though he had to travel almost three hours to our venue). Hired him, and he came through in splendid fashion.
Roger was absolute great! He played for our ceremony and cocktail hour for our June 10th wedding at the Inn at Stonecliffe. He was very prompt in all communications and arrived early the day off. He played beautify he classical guitar playing was the perfect ambiance for our outdoor ceremony! He even sent a recording of our music he played after the wedding!
Thank you roger for being a part of our special day!

He forgot to show up! Money was refunded appropriately, but how does someone just not show up?!?
I am honored and overjoyed to have chosen Roger Humphrey as the musician for my ceremony.
After I checked to see if he was available, all I had to do was tell him what songs I wanted him to play for the bridal party procession, bridal entrance, ceremony song, and exit down the aisle. Every song I asked him to play he knew! And the one song he didn't already know, he learned to play just for me.
He was there about 45 minutes before to play as guests entered. He's very independent and knows every vendor on the island, so he personal knows the people making your special day happen.
He's a fantastic choice because he times out your special walk with the songs you have chosen and will end with a beautiful note. He also gives you an MP3 of all the songs he played for you so you can keep them forever or add them to a video! And trust me that's something you'll want to have forever because no one plays like him.
His skills are magical and enticing, my guests were taken away! I had several guests tell me after the ceremony how cool and awesome they thought Rodger was.
I actually first heard Roger's extraordinary acoustic capabilities when he played for my brother and sister-in-law at their wedding. After the performance I heard, when it came time to plan a wedding of my own it was a no brainer to ask him to play at my wedding as well. Roger was a joy to work with, no request was to big and he made sure everything was seamless and special! I highly recommend Roger he is extremely talented, a true artist, and highly professional!
Loved, loved, loved him! We chose specific versions of specific songs, and Roger learned them for our ceremony. The music added something very special and romantic, and I'm so glad we chose to hire him. He even forwarded files of our songs to us afterwards, so we can play them forever and be reminded of our wedding! Would definitely recommend.
We loved Roger and received so many compliments from our guests on his music ability! He did an amazing job on both our ceremony and reception. Roger learned a song for my new husband and I for our first dance and it was incredible!! I couldn't have asked for better! Thank you so much Roger for making our wedding day even more beautiful!
Roger was amazing! He did a wonderful job at our wedding at The Grand Hotel in Mackinac Island. We had a special request song and not only did he learn to play it (in the week notice I gave him) he did such a wonderful job.
I would highly recommend Roger, easy to work with, professional and sounds amazing :)
Roger was an absolute delight to work with from the very first email. I highly recommend his services. He helped make decisions on ceremony music with me, which was a huge stress relief for us! His music is absolutely beautiful and added a classy touch to our outdoor ceremony.
I had my wedding in the woodland grotto at the Inn at Stonecliffe and his classical guitar made the setting magical and created our fairytale wedding to come to life. He customized, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and other requested songs for our special day. I wish I could have just sat there and got lost in his music, but on your wedding day that isn't allowed!
Roger played the pre-ceremony, ceremony and cocktail hour at our May wedding in Suttons Bay, MI. He was there early and very professional. Our bridemaids walked in to Canon in D, I walked in to Elvis' Can't Help Falling in Love With You (which he sent me a recording of) and we walked out to Brown Eyed Girl. Roger had not played Brown Eyed Girl before and learned for a wedding - top notch guy who will do anything to make your day personal and special. The jazz / classical music in the background of the cocktail hour was excellent as well. Highly recommend! Than you, Roger!!!
We hired Roger to play the ceremony music at our May wedding on the front porch of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. It was a bit chilly that morning, but he was there early and set up and got to work entertaining our guests as they arrived. The music was a beautiful touch. He was very easy to work with, and even sent a recording of the song I walked down the aisle to as a last thank you. Wonderful guy, very professional. Would recommend to anyone wanting beautiful, calm music for their ceremony.
Roger played very nicely for my wedding and even learned some Led Zeppelin songs to play before the ceremony for my husband. Thanks!
played just what we wanted and sounded beautiful
