Salt of the Earth Co is a wedding hair and makeup business based in Whitestown, IN. Hi everyone! My name is Kristen Basey, the owner of SaltoftheEarthCo. I have been in the wedding business for about 3 years now and have loved every second of sharing my talents for hairstyling and makeup artistry with my clients. I graduated from Paul Mitchell the School Indianapolis in 2018. I am so excited to work with you on your big day, whether it be makeup or hair. I take great pride in all that I do. My goal is to have you feeling your best and most confident while achieving your hair and makeup vision time efficiently so you can enjoy all your big day has to offer. Kristen not only is my regular hair stylist, but one of our regulars we use at the venue I work at. So it was easy for me to choose her for my day as well! She is so laid back, kind and really wants to bring your vision to life! She is who I recommend to any of our brides right off the bat, and everyone loves Kristen and her work. Kristin did a great job on my hair and makeup. She was SO quick and did an excellent job. I’m never going to look as beautiful as I did on my wedding thanks to her. I was worried with the timeline she gave me due to past experiences in other weddings I was in, so she brought in 2 extra people. They got done with 10 people’s hair and 6 people’s makeup within 4 hours, and that was with them waiting around for some of my people to show up.

Kristen was amazing! Every single one of my bridesmaids loved how their hair turned out! There is absolutely no body else I would have wanted to do my hair for my big day! 10/10 recommend ❤️

I am so glad I booked with Kristen for my hair. She did wonderful and was able to finish 6 girls’ hair in like 2 hours max. She was able to help me achieve the look I wanted and it lasted throughout the night. She made sure to try different styles and looks during my trial to ensure we covered all options. Only thing I will say about my trial versus day-of is that the hair style wasn’t the exact same thing for both days. However, not a huge deal - it still turned out beautiful. Another note, it was a little rocky with communication in the beginning, but she never took longer than a week to get back to me. She’s also a busy business-owner so I didn’t mind and it definitely didn’t hinder the overall experience. Overall, I definitely enjoyed her services and would recommend her for anyone needing hair services done. She’s a doll to be around and is so talented at what she does.
