The gentleman runs the business out of his house, which is fine. He had a lot of books to go through to pick out cake ideas. I told him that I wanted a 2 tier cake with the quilted pattern on it, pearls on the spots where teh pattern crossed, a... black ribbon around the base, and with a black bow on top. He told me that would be no problem at all, but he didn't think the bow would look good, so he wasn't going to do that.
When I picked up the cake, it was a 2 tier cake, but that's about the only detail that was correct. Don't get me wrong, it didn't look bad, it just wasn't what I had ordered. Instead of the quilted pattern, it was strange scratches going all different directions in the fondant, there was no pearls, there was a black bow around the base, and the bow didn't look like a bow.
Again, it didn't look bad, just not exactly what I wanted. The actual cake was good, though.
