Serene Beauty is an on-location hair and makeup company based out of the New York Capital Region. Serene Beauty collaborates with a hand-picked group of independent hair and makeup artists who are experienced, fully insured, licensed, and seasoned bridal artists. Serene Beauty and independent artists will work with you for your wedding day or any event/ occasion and travel on-location to your wedding venue, hotel, home, etc, to get you and your entire bridal party ready for your special day. Serene Beauty holds pride in bringing a fun yet calming energy to the room. You will thoroughly enjoy your morning with your hair and makeup besties! Serene Beauty is highly trained to give you the look you truly desire. An in-depth consultation is had with each person to truly get an idea of what will make YOU feel the most beautiful, confident, and comfortable. Serene Beauty loves to provide looks from the most natural and subtle, all the way to glam. Hair and makeup are not a one-size-fits-all experience; your look will be tailored just for you. Jessica Preston is the owner, founder, and lead hair and makeup artist of Serene Beauty. Jessica established her hair and makeup business in the Albany, NY, region in 2016. Her business started out as "Jessica Lynne Hair and Makeup" (which may be what you know her as!) Jessica has always had an immense passion for beauty, artistry, and creativity. She knew she wanted to be a hair stylist since the age of 14. She attended Paul Mitchell The School in Schenectady, NY, graduating in 2014, where she studied to become a licensed cosmetologist. Jessica knew she wanted to specialize in wedding hair and makeup very shortly after she graduated. She worked in Oahu, Hawaii, for 6 months in 2015, working on an elite hair and makeup team, before moving back to the Upstate New York region in 2016. Jessica's business grew very quickly, as she was providing such a high level of service to brides and their bridal parties. Jessica collaborates with an elite, hand-picked group of independent hair and makeup artists to accommodate hair and makeup for even the largest of bridal parties.
In 2023, Jessica changed the name to "Serene Beauty Inc." Brides and bridal parties often tell Jessica that she and the independent artists she collaborates with provide a fun yet calming energy on the wedding morning, and it feels like they're hanging out and chatting with old friends! Jessica truly loves connecting and gaining trust with others and helping to give confidence and peace of mind to anyone who sits in her chair.

We had some last minute changes due to a family emergency and Jessica was beyond professional in her flexibility and compassion. I was put completely at ease that morning while getting ready and I know Jessica and her team had a lot to do with it. It was really important to me for both myself and my bridal party to look like themselves on the big day and her team more than exceeded expectations.

I truly can’t recommend Jessica enough. From the very beginning, she was incredibly communicative and transparent, clearly laying out pricing for all 10 people who had their makeup...
done. As the wedding got closer, she was also so helpful in organizing and mapping out time slots for everyone, which made the morning feel calm and stress-free.
My makeup trial and day-of makeup were absolutely perfect. I asked for a soft glam look, and Jessica delivered exactly what I envisioned. I felt so beautiful on my special day, and that confidence meant everything to me. I’m so grateful to Jessica for her talent, professionalism, and care. the trial she checked in at various stages to make sure I was comfortable with everything. Before the trial I had a family emergency occur and she was flexible in accommodating my last minute re-schedule. The day of the wedding she was on time and treated my family with the same thoughtfulness as she did with me. She is super easy to chat with and helped the morning of the wedding go quickly. I highly recommend doing a hair and make up trial because we were able to make small tweaks to achieve perfection for the real day. I wanted my makeup to feel light and natural and to feel like myself but better, and Jessica took the time to listen and bring the vision to life better than expected. My make up was flawless, elegant, and timeless and lasted the whole night. My hair was equally as beautiful, secure, and exactly the style I asked for. She even gave me a goodie bag for both hair and makeup touchups. I cannot recommend and thank Jessica enough!

We organized a hair and make-up trial which I would strongly urge everyone to do -- after the trial, I ended up having different ideas for what I wanted on the actual wedding day, and Jessica was completely on board and helpful in shaping the vision. On the day-of when she arrived at 8:30 AM in the morning, it felt like she fit right into the group and made all of us feel confident and gorgeous. schedule of the day was set months in advance so that me and my *12* other people getting makeup done would do so in a timely manner. Not to mention that I felt like an absolute princess on my wedding day!! I didn't have a particular look in mind so even without much to go off of Jessica made me look and feel amazing. zed person I have ever had the pleasure of working with and she gets every detail perfect. Jessica is prepared and has excellent communication. She truly listens to understand exactly what her clients want and she DELIVERS! I went for my bridal trial in January and Jessica instantly made me feel at ease and confident in her skills. On my wedding day I wanted to make some changes to the look I had trialed, and she was able to execute them perfectly. I went full glam with the makeup, but I still looked like myself and got SO many complements. My hair and makeup both held up for the whole day/evening... even in the 90 degree heat and humidity for outdoor photos! I would trust Jessica over and over again for all my hair and makeup needs. It was so nice to work with just one vendor for hair/makeup, and she was truly so AFFORDABLE!!

Jess took all my thoughts and ideas into consideration to help achieve the look I was going for. I truly recommend working with Jess, especially on your wedding day as she makes it such an easy and smooth process. I couldn't imagine having anyone else do my hair or makeup on my wedding day.

What truly stood out was her compassion and ability to listen. As someone with alopecia and thinning hair, I was extremely nervous during my first trial. Jessica put me completely at ease, never once making me feel self-conscious or less than. When she finished, I couldn’t believe my reflection—you would never have known I had alopecia. I don't even know where to begin with how professional, how talented, and how incredible Jessica is. She worked with me every step of the way and helped me nail down my timeline, which made my wedding day flow seamlessly. Jessica was so communicative, always answered all of my questions, and was very clear on what I could expect during the whole process. On top of it all, she is an incredibly talented hair and makeup artist. She ensured my bridal party and I were 110% happy with our looks and went above and beyond, even helping me put in my Upneeq eye drops. Jessica's team was also incredible, Lisa did a phenomenal job on the rest of my wedding party and was such a pleasure to have a part of our day.

She helped create the timeline for all the girls getting ready and ensured it aligned with when our photography schedule had to begin. Day of, Jessica and team were professional and so much fun to work with. Myself and my party were all so happy with how our hair and makeup turned out. One of my bridesmaids has been in a few weddings recently and raved that the way her hair and makeup turned out, as well as the service provided by the stylists, was the best of all weddings she was in. My wedding guests (and even other vendors) also kept saying how amazing we all looked and that it was some of the best wedding hair and makeup they had seen. I felt like I had the perfect amount of glam and coverage without completely changing how I look (same for my bridal party). The makeup and hair also stayed throughout the entire day and night (we were completed getting ready around 11 am, and the party went until 11 pm). ith the perfect timeline for my wedding morning, which had to fit 9 girls within a small timeframe. She worked with me to make sure everyone was ready when they needed to be and her and her team made everyone look absolutely stunning. From the first trial, I knew I was in good hands. Jessica listened to what I wanted and tried out different hair pieces for my updo. I don't have thick hair, but wanted the biggest boho bun she could make and she delivered! It was gorgeous and I received compliments the entire night about my hair and makeup. My mom, mother-in-law and bridesmaids were beyond thrilled and everyone looked so beautiful. The morning was so stress-free and that is largely in part to Jessica and her team being so prepared and easygoing. I honestly could not recommend Jessica and Serene Beauty more.
