y and easily! Not only was it a beautiful location with amazing rooms and beach set up, everyone was extremely nice and welcoming! We were surprised that something this beautiful fit our budget! If you are looking for a perfect beach wedding, you have to have it here!!!

side youll forget all about it because the inside is very nice. The setup of the reception room was good for about 85 people, if we had more the room would have been very tight. We hired a band and the only drawback was that the dance floor was not large enough to hold everyone but we made do! The room also has pillars that are somewhat in the way but do add accent. Wedding day/Beach- 4.5/5 Everything went really well the day of, we lucked out with the weather. Alex was helpful coordinating everyone to where they needed to be. The beach is stunning and the dunes are also a great spot to take pictures. The pictures came out great so highly recommend shell island if you care a lot about pictures. Food- 4/5 - Shrimp and grits is the way to go. We did a buffet style and we loved how that went. Everyone was really happy with buffet style. The apps were good too. Drinks- The options were a bit limited but overall 4/5. Everyone was pretty happy and the bartenders were really cool and would make what people requested. Overall 4/5. Thank you Shell Island for making it a great weekend!

y enough to find this treasure. I don't have the words to describe how amazing Alex and all of the staff at Shell Island are. Alex took care of everything for us, and did everything to ensure that our day was perfect and smooth. It was amazing being able to show up and just enjoy our weekend knowing that everything was taken care of. She always responded quickly to my thousands of emails and constant questions without complaint. The other staff at the resort were fantastic as well. Our rooms were always kept clean, and the bar and wait staff were welcoming and helpful. I even had a bartender run through the bushes to bring me a fresh beer (without me even asking) when he saw I was running low! Alex was also great at making sure we stayed within our budget. She was always helping us find ways to save a buck here or there without sacrificing quality or what we wanted for our big day. The food at Shell was also amazing. Our guests couldn't say enough about how great both the cocktail hour and main meal were. All of this great service overlooked the ocean...we couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommend Shell Island Resort for all celebrations!!!

ously discussed that the guest would be allowed to park there just not over night. The second issue was the dinner, it was nothing like the food they had us sample at the taste testing. The beef tasted like leather, the chicken was great though! There was a huge mess up with the seating chart and tables and Shell did NOTHING to help solve the problem and left it up to the bride and groom to sort it out. And I will end with GEORGE. HE IS THE RUDEST MAN I HAVE EVER MET. I have never been so disrespected in my life, it is mind blowing that he works in the hospitality industry. He was rude to my guest, he was openly rude to his staff, and he made the bride hysterical cry at the end of the night before of how disrespectful and rude he was being. It was such a shame to end such a wonderful night on such an awful note. Thank you George. We wont be back.

ralled our huge wedding party of 14 (no simple task). The reception was fabulous and the food was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful all night, and kept making sure I had everything I needed (including appearing now and then to make sure I had water). The outdoor cocktail area was a great spillover for non-dancing guests. I couldn't have been happier, and the entire night was magical.

For our reception in the Ocean View Ballroom, we had minimal decorations because the view of the ocean is just so beautiful. The food was delicious, and the team at Shell Island was so incredibly helpful when setting up and taking down the decorations we did have. Every single staff member that came by offered help. Our pictures turned out so beautiful both on the beach, and we even walked across the street to take some with the sound in the background. All of our guests were blown away at how beautiful the ceremony and reception were, and how smoothly the wedding went. We are so lucky we were able to have our wedding at Shell Island!

We had our ceremony here as well and it was truly something out of a fairy tale. Even though there were a few hiccups as there always will be, everything turned out just perfect. We were even able to get in early to decorate which was amazing. I cannot thank the staff of Shell Island enough for their hard work and dedication to weddings. A few tips, if you have a multi flavored cake, be sure to tell the staff. We forgot! And, designate a member of your wedding party to bring you drinks. I promise, the staff is super busy taking care of your guests, as it should be. I cannot imagine having our wedding anywhere besides Shell Island. If you are looking for a beach wedding, you cannot get a better venue or staff. Dream come true. Thank you to everyone!

Our guests are describing our wedding as "perfect", "the best wedding they've been to in years", and "a great time"! As a bride who was ultimately wanting her guests to enjoy themselves, I don't think I could have asked for a better response. The food here was much better than we had anticipated due to our experiences at resort weddings and none of our guests left hungry. We utilized the rentals, cake, and flowers package which was a great deal for us. If you are looking for a venue in this area, this is it! Set up a meeting with Leigh and you will see exactly why this venue is a top choice for your wedding. Location, service, and food are all quality at Shell Island!

fic with moving our ceremony inside. We were married in the ocean front ballroom where our reception was held and made the best of a less than ideal situation. I was told be many people that it was one of the most intimate ceremonies they had ever witnessed. Everyone we worked with leading up to the wedding was so helpful and easy to get along with. Any issues or questions I had were quickly answered to my satisfaction. And the food was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend working with Shell Island!!

magnificent!! The staff is extremely helpful with everything! They make sure your wedding day is the day of your dreams and goes off without any problems! They handle the site setup, all the food and cake services, (Their chef is Amazing!!!) and have chairs and arbors for use for your beach ceremony. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for that perfect beach wedding! My guests are still talking about what a great time they had and how beautiful the place was!

She did not provide these for us, so my decor didn't have the lighting of the candles. But that is small things compared to what could of happened. If you don't get a package, they won't comp your room though. :) The food was GREAT!! The wait staff and bartender were phenomenal as well. All the guests had nothing but good things to say about the choice of food.

I gave them my favors & the few things that I was providing and they made sure everything was where it should be without any stress on my part. And the honeymoon suite was spectacular!!
