y wedding day. Not only did my makeup look the best it ever has in its life but since the beginning Jess helped me get my acne under control. My acne has been the worst and so hard to control. With her skilled help and my dermatologist they both made my skin flawless (literally has never been) for my wedding day and although it is only a few weeks after it still looks amazing today. She is so skilled that not only does Jess do makeup but also does a number of other skin care and beauty things. I took advantage of her microderm abrasion and chemical peels but thats not even all she offers. Everything she does is very clean and professional. It is very difficult to find someone that can understand the nuances of working with different skin tones. I wish Jessica lived closer to the city, so that I can use her for every event I have. They listened to what I said, looked at the pictures I brought, and gave me advice (i didn't really know what i wanted except that I wanted it to be natural). Even though Jessica would not be doing my makeup, she stayed for the whole thing and gave her input and guidance as needed. That was huge for me - it showed her professionalism that she cared and wanted the best for me even though she wasn't doing it herself. On the day of the wedding, America was on time, super friendly and easy going. Her makeup skills are flawless. She does not rush at all, but manages to keep everyone on schedule at the same time. I had worked with her for one of my best friend’s weddings last July and when I got engaged I KNEW that I had to call her to see if she was available for my wedding. Both times I worked with her she did an absolutely fantastic job with everyone’s make up! The first wedding that I was in had 12 bridesmaids and every single one of them was very happy with their make up – which is no small feat especially with a bunch of NYC girls. When I worked with her for my wedding she once again absolutely knocked it out of the park. Everyone absolutely loved their make up, especially me. My bridesmaids were not used to wearing a ton of make up so she made them just look like the most naturally beautiful version of themselves which was perfect. She did my mother and mother in laws make up – which is also very difficult because they have no idea what they want and she did such an excellent job – I have never seen my mother look so beautiful! As for my makeup, she worked with me at the trial and then we took a little different route for the wedding, which I was absolutely pleased with! me like a ton of bricks: how am I going to look beautiful on the biggest day of my life with skin like mine? I had a gorgeous dress, yet I found myself in tears wondering if I could wear my veil’s blusher throughout the reception to hide my face. So many of us suffer from adult acne, and mine is stress-induced, so planning a wedding wasn’t exactly going to be kind on my skin. I did a little research, and after reading and hearing so many positive reviews about Simply Elegant Beauty, I decided to give Jessica a call. She set up a complimentary consultation immediately. We met at a local Starbucks (my comfort zone) and had a conversation I had been dreading due to embarrassment. Within seconds, I was at ease and in full-flow of questioning. She answered each one of my questions as I took notes. She educated me about different professional treatments available (which I ended up booking with her, as she is a licensed esthetician!), what types of products I should use and how to use them for my skin, and finally, how regardless my skin ended up looking, she would be able to use her high-end quality makeup to transform me into the flawless bride I was dreaming of. Here is the plan we came up with together: -a few, alternating facials and microdermabrasion -proper facial cleansers for my face -proper exfoliators -proper moisturizers -proper spot treatments—tea tree oil is my new best friend -de-stress by purposefully finding the time to do so -drink TONS of water and herbal tea -makeup trial This brings me to the next awesome part of my experience with Jessica: my makeup trial. She came right to my house to do my makeup trial, and after showing her a few pictures of the “look” I was going for, she hopped right to it! Afterword, I felt and looked amazing. It was exactly what I wanted: a dewy, fresh-yet-sexy look with lightly bronzed smokey eyes that made my blue eyes pop! (I am no makeup artist, but that was the description I gave her lol!) The next few months leading up to the big day, I visited her for facials and micro, where she would also provide me with more skincare advice that totally worked every time. **THIS WAS AWESOME. If you book Jessica for makeup and want facials too, book the facials with her—nobody needs to know your skin as much as your makeup artist, and by the time your big day comes, she will know it inside and out. Literally! My wedding day, Jessica arrived on-time and ready to go at 6:30AM at the hotel I was staying at. She took her time on every inch of my face, and because she did my eyes before my face makeup, I was able to see what I looked like before concealer and foundation. I cried a little when I actually felt that I barely needed any! Obviously I did for pictures, but it gave me hope for honeymooning in the Caribbean without makeup! Phew! I can honestly say that I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day, and it was because of Jessica’s skilled art in makeup application, and because of how Jessica’s easy-going, positive persona made me feel on the inside. I was relaxed as I was driven to my ceremony, in a state of complete joy and bliss—a feeling every bride should have.
