We interviewed a few day-of-coordinators for our wedding but we chose Diana because of her positive attitude and lack of drama. In phone conversations, other coordinators stressed us out about the process, and spoke in a way that didn’t make us... feel like they would be the calm and composed people we wanted executing on our plans for the day. Leading up to the event Diana went above and beyond to learn about our venue, which was new to her. She took up the venue’s offer to do a private tour a few months before the wedding, and she showed up to our official site visit prepared and knowledgeable about the location. Leading up to the day she sent us templates to fill out which allowed us to easily transfer our plan to her and her team. We had one comprehensive meeting the week before the wedding where we walked through every detail and finalized our timeline. At that point Diana took on communicating these details to all our vendors and finalizing last minute things so we could focus on getting ready for our guests.
Three days before our wedding PG&E began one of its largest power shutoffs and it impacted the Santa Cruz Mountains. We received a call from the venue on Thursday morning that there was no power at the site and we didn’t know when it would turn back on. We called Diana to discuss our backup plans and that was when we really felt the benefits of having chosen Diana for her positive outlook. Instead of reacting like the world was ending and that our wedding would be a disaster, she calmly asked us several questions about the site and what the implications of the outage would be. She spoke with our caterer about making menu changes to accommodate the lack of power, and took that off of our plate for the day which was great. In the end, the power ended coming back on late on Friday night, so we didn’t need all the changes we had talked about making, but the way Diana approached the situation with support and positivity was greatly appreciated.
On the day of Diana and her team executed our vision perfectly. Coming down from the ceremony and seeing the reception for the first time was so stunning and it was amazing how well they brought everything to life. We repurposed things from the ceremony site down to the reception and Diana and her team made the transitions seamlessly. At the end of the night they packed everything up safely and saved everything so it was easy for us to unpack and organize when we got home.
In the end, choosing Diana and Simply Elegant Events was a decision that helped to make our wedding stress-free, seamless, and beautiful.
