Hermelyn (Mel) expanded her skills and experience through freelance work since 2007. From weddings and birthdays to proms and pageants, she focuses on allowing her clients' natural beauty and confidence to shine through. Simply Glamorous by Hermelyn offers various services to nearlyweds and their wedding parties. Brides to be can avail of a trial hair and makeup session to establish the desired look. Hermelyn (Mel) is available to travel to the pre-wedding location to prepare the party for the big day.

I hired Mel to do my bridal hair/make up as well as the hair/make up for 3 others in my bridal party. There was a lot of variety in the wants and needs of the four of us. Some wanted their hair up, some wanted it down. I had full glam and others wanted a very natural look. She was also able to work with the mature skin and hair of my grandma just as well as she did for my hair/ make up. Mel is very versatile and knows how to make you shine no matter what you’re working with. I would work with Mel again and again. She is kind, talented, reliable and has great pricing. If you’re thinking about hiring her, do it. You won’t regret it.

She was so sweet and professional, could not have asked for a better turn out for the makeup on not only myself but my lovely girls as well.

Mel did hair and makeup for my destination micro wedding on O’ahu. She was professional and also so sweet and kind. Mel made me feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day alongside my sister, sister in law, and mother. She was accommodating and super efficient in her work! I’d hire Mel anytime. Mel did an absolutely AMAZING job!! She was kind, professional, and just overall wonderful to work with. My makeup stayed perfect- even in the Hawaii heat and humidity, and my hair managed to stay put, which is nothing short of a miracle given its super fine nature! Mel listened to what I wanted and absolutely delivered- I felt absolutely beautiful, but still felt like me. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for hair or makeup.

No trial run was necessary! And let me tell you, she did not disappoint! My Maid of Honor hired Hermelyn to do our make up. My wedding was intimately small, so hair and make up services were needed for just myself and MOH. I showed her a few inspo pictures and she did her thing. It was BEAUTIFUL! The hair pulled everything together. My hair was at shoulder length so she curled them and put in this very cute headpiece! It made a huge difference considering how ‘plain’ my dress was. The make up and hair was intact the entire day!
Hermelyn is a sweet soul and from beginning to end, it was such a delight to have her a part of my big day.
Hermelyn was very professional, full communication leading up to the wedding. I shared my inspirational pictures and she nailed it! Makeup was wonderful and even lasted through a light drizzle. She also did my hair which was also exactly what I asked for. She came right to my hotel room so I didn’t have to go anywhere. It was so wonderful!

Hermelyn is amazing (: she did my hair and makeup for my wedding in Waianae . I highly recommend her for your wedding events and etc. she’s very respectful and responsive. She did everything I’ve asked or my sister asked lol. She also provides a makeup kit for touch ups and much more, thank you!!!! You’re the best.

I was in search of a hair and makeup artist just months before my wedding, but wad having a hard time finding someone within my budget. I found Mel and her prices were much more reasonable so I immediately inquired. She contacted me almost immediately (within the same day I believe). I booked a bridal trial and wedding day hair and makeup. I'm glad u booked the trial because I had never has a full face of makeup before, so I had a better idea of what I would prefer foe the wedding day. I was also able go see how the hair and makeup would look with my dress-highly recommend a trial!
On my wedding day, Mel made some adjustments as I requested and we reached my hair and makeup goals! Everything lasted well into the night except one of my eyelashes that started coming off by around 8/9pm. This could have just been that my skin is a little oily though. Keep in mind, I was also done with hair and makeup by about 10am because I had a Chinese tea ceremony as well.. so it did last a very long time!
Mel also did my friends makeup, which looked great. My friend was running behind and didn't have time to do her own hair. Mel was willing to stay longer to also do her hair. Thanks so much! Overall, Mel was very professional and reliable. I would definitely recommend her.

I booked Hermelyn to do my bridal makeup as well as my mom’s makeup for an early morning wedding ceremony. I have so many great things to say. She went out of her way to meet us early at our hotel, and did a stunning job. Very sweet and professional throughout the whole process and did a phenomenal job on my darker complexion. Everything went flawlessly! Definitely scary hiring someone for wedding hair and makeup that you’ve never met, but she exceeding all expectations and more!!! My hair and makeup looked amazing and lasted all day! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

The service Mel provided for me on my special day was incredible! She far exceeded my expectations.
She worked quickly, expertly, and even held steady conversation to help aid in easing my wedding day jitters.
To cap it off, she left me with a very thoughtful maintenance kit goody bag as gift, which I barely needed to use because my hairstyle remained in place for the entire day!

Mel is the best. She did my hair and make-up during my wedding ceremony today (9/23/23), I received a lot of compliment regarding my hair & make up. She's so nice and sweet as well. She even accommodated my last minute request and she came in on time.

Hermelyn did my hair and makeup for a Military ball and I have never felt more beautiful! Mel has high quality products and gave me a natural look with smokey eye and lashes. It was 10/10 best hair and makeup I’ve ever had, including our wedding day. She came to my location (early) sat up while we were getting ready and did lashes for several of my close friends as well. I could not have asked for a better experience, value for the price and my hair and makeup lasted all night, even after dancing the night away in the Hawaiian humidity. Don’t wait, book her asap, you won’t regret it.
