The online wedding planner is very easy to use and the DJ had everything we asked for within it. He even pulled me aside quickly before the wedding to make sure he had the version I wanted played. Their price was the most competitive we saw and their service was absolutely incredible. DJ Ryan was very responsive to the crowd, and kept our dance floor full the entire night! (even let me steal the mic a few times). Our experience was absolutely incredible and our guests were very complimentary of the DJ as well!

ed the perfect music for my family to dance to!!! Their advice is not to give too many suggestions for reception songs, because the DJ knows what they're doing, and you know what, they're right! I can be very Type A but letting the DJ make the music choices was a great decision. DJ Matt was on time, on the ball, and picked all the best music. I couldn't be happier. I even specially requested a cover of the song we chose for our first dance (Straight No Chaser version of "I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz) and they had no trouble playing it! Every song I requested was there, and they even played the special mix I made for my ceremony entrance. There were no hiccups, no file errors, nothing...just great, professional service!

uiry and all follow up questions promptly. There wasn't a deposit required to reserve their DJ services for my wedding date, just the signing of a contract. After signing the contract, Keith provided me with their DJ planner and some other helpful documents (e.g. common wedding songs, wedding kissing games, etc.). The DJ planner was pretty thorough and well organized for me to complete. Something Blue DJs hadn't previously DJ'd at my reception venue, but I was assured that a site visit would be performed in advance. I provided my completed DJ planner back to Keith just over a week before the event and needed to confirm with him that the DJ could stop two of our formal dance songs at specific time points, along with some other details, which were no problem for the DJ to do. We got DJ Matt, who arrived early and was all set up by the time I arrived at the venue about 1 hour before the start of the event. He worked closely with the MC to ensure events ran smoothly during the reception, and even chimed in asking the bride and groom questions during the shoe game when the rest of the guests fell silent. He played all of our requested songs at the right time and stopped those 2 formal dance songs at the exact time points which I had originally asked for. He played a good mix of new and oldie songs for the various generations in the crowd (I had provided a break down of the guests' ages), and did a good job with mix ins/fade outs as transitions from song to song. Overall, I liked Something Blue DJs, we thought they did a great job, and I would definitely recommend them.

He has a word document and all you have to do is fill in the blanks! He's thought of everything! He even gives you a large list of up to date perfect songs for each part of your wedding which was so helpful! AND he sends you a list of examples for kissing games and center piece giveaway ideas! Keith was so understanding of all our little details and questions, at no point did he make us feel as though we were asking too much. One quest said "He's awesome and plays all the songs I've asked for" (and she was up requesting songs a lot ha ha). He even adjusted the lightening when it was bothering some of one of our guests. Initially, we thought it was a bit strange because we weren't communicating directly with our deejay, but the sales manager was really helpful explaining the process and in the end, we just went with it and trusted others' reviews. Very happy we did! DJ Carolyn was excellent! She contacted us a few days in advance of our event to clarify specific elements and was very clear and concise in figuring out final details related to music selections and program. On our wedding day, Caroline was assertive and poised at all times, and was somehow able to check in with us at opportune times with relevant questions. Her song selections were excellent. Also, absolutely no problem at all with set-up of the sound system, so we hardly noticed it but it was greatly appreciated. We would definitely recommend DJ Carolyn and Something Blue to others!

They got to take photo strips home (in colour), there were TONS of silly props, and we got the package that included a handmade book for us to take home (with our copies of everyone's photo strips). She even made extra copies of the pictures depending on how many people were in the shot, so everyone got their own to take with them. We loved it, and it was way better than leaving junky wedding favours for people. This combo of DJ and photobooth was ideal for us, would recommend to anyone!

We did not have an MC but we were told that the DJ would take care of the necessary areas. He did not interact with the crown and didn’t encourage our guests to play our advice game. Our guests even made comments that he was MIA a lot of the time, playing long (boring) songs to leave. Song choices were poor and the only songs that brought guests to the dance floor were those we had requested ahead of time. Keith was professional to hear our concerns but no type of compensation will bring back our wedding. A DJ service choice is important to set the atmosphere so please choose wisely; we would not recommend this service.

She made sure that all of our wedding party, the officiant, and everyone else was on the same page and knew what cues were needed for each step of the ceremony. Our officiant was so impressed he even took time out of the ceremony to thank her, and he told me that he’s never had a DJ take that initiative. After the ceremony, DJ Carolyn continued to keep the flow of the day, providing music for the cocktail hour and directing guests up to dinner when it came time. She continued to check in with us before dinner to confirm the flow of speeches and coordinate with the wait staff to ensure that the service would not interrupt the speeches. As for the dance, I cannot say enough about how great a job DJ Carolyn did. The dance floor was never empty. She knew exactly what to play to keep our guests dancing and having fun, and it was a great mix of musical styles and speed of dances. She also made sure to respect our “do not play” list, even when a guest kept insisting on a song as a request. She would not play it without consent from the bride. All in all, I think DJ Carolyn helped make our wedding the best day of our lives. I would absolutely recommend her to everyone!

The DJ did play great music, so it was a shame that the rest was disappointing.
