n from the staff (Elaine, Christy, Kris, AND Kelly) that it was unreal. I got married at Southwind Hills on January 31, 2021; I toured this venue right when COVID restrictions were lifting, and Kelly stayed in constant contact with me until I confirmed that was the date I wanted, giving me a heads up if anyone else was interested so I had a chance to book. This was invaluable, as venues booked fast in light of all the post-poned 2021 weddings. Of course, that wasn’t needed, as we had booked the venue within days of touring- it’s THAT awesome. All of the amenities Southwind Hills advertised were executed perfectly, all the way down to planners available during all working hours to answer my questions, even if they were not “assigned” to me. They use a phenomenal DJ company (not sure why anyone would venture outside of the tried-and-true approved list, many of whom have been featured in OKC Bridal magazines for years) that was also incredibly communicative. The photo booth was a wonderful addition; they even emailed me a digital file containing all photos taken during the night. Southwind Hills did a phenomenal job with tear-down, going so far as to pack my mom’s car with all items from the bridal suite before the evening was even over. This all happened so discreetly that we weren’t aware of that hard work until the next day. Our planner even drove my car down to the on-site cottage so we could make an easy getaway the next morning. My husband and I planned this wedding out-of-state, and our coordinator did a wonderful job of scheduling video meetings around both of our work schedules (not an easy feat). Elaine sent us a highly-detailed day of schedule and welcomed collaboration on the schedule at every turn. Southwind does so many weddings, but I was able to see how hard they work to make every celebration special and personal. We were told during our initial planning meeting that we could use the venue either the day-of or the day before for rehearsal, depending on whether they had an event the day before, and our coordinator let us know as soon as possible if we could use it the day before. The rehearsal itself was perfect- Elaine was helpful and patient at every turn with our flower girl and ring bearers. Another note to add, is that one of my little ones has a limited diet. Staff did not balk ONCE at making him his favorite meal to be served along the adults’ meals. They were up front from the get-go about not bringing in outside food or drink, as they have an AMAZING kitchen staff on hand to make your dreams come true, and brought in a sommelier for the menu tasting so we could try every wine possible and make our financial decisions from there. This venue is incredibly busy, for good reason, but they don’t let it show even a bit. In all, Southwind is comprised of a team of professional individuals who feel like family by the time your wedding rolls around; Kelly even stopped by with a hug and well-wishes for me before the big moment. From one control freak to another (and there’s a lot of us, brides), they made it incredibly easy to trust the process! Thank you to their entire staff for giving us an incredible memory my husband and I will carry for the rest of my lives together.

Note: We chose their short engagement package. If you have little time to plan a wedding or aren't in the mood to contract out external vendors, I would highly recommend looking into this package. Almost all the vendors are in-house and included under the special package price, which I consider a great deal based on the quality of service!

o booking this venue - I wish I would've known half this information before booking my wedding here.
I got married at Southwind Hills in October of 2021. I booked this venue before the start of the pandemic and planned my wedding with Southwind Hills from January 2020 until our wedding day in October. Most of the amenities Southwind Hills advertises were not executed during the planning period or on our wedding day.
They claimed to have functioning speakers for our out-of-state DJ to use, however, they did not work on the day of. Our DJ was also my Godfather, had to miss our wedding ceremony so he could drive into the city to rent speakers for our reception. The photo booth wasn't properly set up, so the booth ran out of paper before dinner was ever served. Southwind Hills claims to do complete tear down following an event but did not follow our instructions and ended up misplacing all of our wedding gifts and monetary cards. They provided no assistance in helping us track down our items. They promised to drive our vehicle down to the cottage following our wedding but failed to do so, so I had to walk half a mile back to the venue to drive our vehicle down the morning after.
For nearly two years the "planning meetings" with my coordinator were nothing more than reconfirming my hired vendor list. I had to ask for the coordinator to send me the day of schedule, which was a general template - not customized to my day or my preferences whatsoever. Despite planning for nearly two years, I wasn't told until 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding that we would not be able to rehearse until the day of.
If you plan to have an open bar or even just serving alcohol, read the fine print... They charge you $10 per drink (minimum), which is restaurant price even though you are ordering in bulk. We had been gifted cases of wine and they refused to let us serve it, instead charging their customers 300% the cost of market price. On the market, you could purchase a case of wine (12 bottles) for $90 but Southwind Hills charges $400-500 for the same product.
I was told after my wedding that the team had 7 events in 10 days of our day, which partially explains why it was so disorganized and chaotic. That shouldn't matter though. In my opinion, a wedding venue should aim to execute 100% of their weddings to the highest standards. 99 out of 100 is not good enough but it seems to be satisfactory for Kris and his team.
With 2022 being the highest volume of weddings in a century, please keep this information in mind before you book. Your money will go further at another venue and you won’t be rolling the dice on your wedding day experience.

She truly was a god send that night, having to make multiple trips back and forth to the cottage, as we had forgotten things in our bags.
I received so many compliments from our guests on the food, the space, and the staff! Our bridal party also loved the bride and groom suites where we got ready. We all truly had the best day ever and felt so pampered! The Honeymoon Cottage was also an AWESOME place to spend our wedding night. The staff was also kind enough to send down leftovers from our dinner and cake for when we got there! It's the multiple (and extra for planners like myself) planning meetings, tasting events, advise, guidance, and preferred partners that separates them from any other venue. Y'all, after being under contract FOR A YEAR, we went to our first tasting and they knew who we were!! I work in customer service and to remember someone's name and face from a year earlier is more than impressive in my book! And they remembered us every other meeting following. I woke up (in the honeymoon cottage that is included) the next day and wanted to re-plan my wedding all over again and honestly not change a thing. I've helped many friends get married and hopped between locations on the day of or were stressed the whole day because they were responsible for set up, clean up, etc. Not at Southwind Hills. They confirm every last detail with you in advance and contact ALL your vendors before to confirm when they will be there and that they know where they are going. My coordinator, Candice, even helped my minister from TN confirm he properly filled out all the paperwork to legally marry us in OK. My mom even said my wedding was stress-free and that's from a woman who finds stress to stress about. I'm already looking forward to planning a vow renewal there and know every year they do nothing but improve so I'll be even more blown away down the road. If you want a dream wedding, no other place can touch what Southwind has to offer.

Our wedding coordinator, Christy, did a phenomenal job planning our short (five month) engagement. Nothing felt rushed, she went above and beyond to answer our questions, and she seemed to have every last detail covered. She and the Southwind Hills team were also so patient when we thought our outdoor ceremony was going to be rained out, but they pulled off the PERFECT outdoor ceremony just after the rain let up.
The food is incredible and makes my mouth water just thinking of it! Just like the rest of the Southwind team, the on-site caterer is an expert, and every dish we tasted was truly fine dining. Our guests are still talking about how great the food tasted.
The bar tenders were fun and friendly, and the DJ that the venue recommended gave us and our guests the best dance party of our lives.
The honeymoon cottage is such a thoughtful and sweet bonus, and my husband and I were so glad we didn't have to travel far after our reception :) They even made us extra plates of food and dessert to have waiting for us at the cottage at end of the night.

o a food tasting event, Elaine made sure to provide us with a private tasting experience to help us decide what to have served for dinner at our wedding. She also helped make the process run incredibly smooth by working well with our wedding planner and vendors.
Southwind Hills also provided our wedding party with an included lunch that we got to choose, which was amazing. Both the bridal and grooms suites are spacious and perfect. It seems they thought of everything as the barn contains plenty of space for dancing, tables, and a ceremony (if needed), as well as a bar, buffet area, photo booth, and kid's room.
In addition, we got to spend the night in their cottage the night of the wedding, which was a wonderful experience.
The venue is so beautiful that we also chose it as one of our 2 places our wedding photographer gave us for engagement pictures.

Elaine was INCREDIBLE and brought our entire vision into a real-life fairy-tale. Honestly, I'm not real sure how she did it. The entire night seemed to run seamlessly and we didn't have to worry about a thing. We had our wedding outside in the forest, in mid-June, it was a little hot but it was perfect!
We were a little hesitant about having to use the on-site caterer, just because we had never tried the food and knew we would need to use them per the contract. However, they allowed us to go to multiple tastings because our wedding was so far in advance. We cannot say enough wonderful things about the chef and the entire team at Southwind Hills. Our guests continuously compliment the food they ate the night of our wedding.
Prior to the wedding, our friends and family told us we wouldn't have time to eat. That wasn’t true for us. Elaine made us a meal and we were the first to eat while everyone else stood in line. This ensured that we actually got to eat. Plus, Elaine packed up some cake for our night in the cottage.
They built a chapel at Southwind Hills after we had booked the venue. Leading up to the wedding day, we had worries that our guests would get lost or accidentally attend the wedding in the chapel instead of ours in the forest – that didn’t happen. We never came into contact with the bride, groom and their guests in the chapel.
For an entire twelve hours Elaine, and the rest of the Southwind Hills crew, took care of us and made us feel like our day was the only one on their minds. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this incredible venue and we will continue to recommend them for years to come.

I could just go on and on about each girl on staff-they have hearts of gold! The venue is simply breath taking. We said "I-do" in the enchanted forest, and I couldn't have pictured anything more perfect! Tina worked so hard to make my flower streamers that hung around our alter-it was so dreamy! And just the little details to make it just ours were all so perfect! Elaine was my personal wedding coordinator, and from the very first day I knew we would be friends! She kept everything on time, stress free, and handled every situation with such grace. Kristin assisted her on our big day, and she is such a gem! Angela is the chef at Southwind Hills and was outstanding! Literally, the whole team bent over backwards to provide special kinds of wines and treats for the reception. It meant so much to my Dad and of course all of us as well. The food was hands down the best wedding food we have ever had. The staff at Southwind also provided preferred vendors, and are so experienced with the flow of weddings to make everything go smoothly. These girls are there for you no matter what-Any question I ever had they answered, and did so effectively and efficiently. The owners have posted a sign that this venue is the true outcome of the Lord's work and everything done is for his kingdom. The venue and all the staff have servant hearts and it shows! I absolutely loved our experience here, and would recommend it to everyone I know!

worked with. As an out-of-town bride, I was constantly accommodated by Elaine, Ali and Amber to meet with me during the times I was available. Chef Angela swooned my parents with her delicious taste testing that I wasn’t able to attend, and from the very beginning we felt that the Southwind Hills staff was really just one big family. I was able to communicate my personal style and wedding vision to their team, and then sit back and enjoy my engagement. I dated my husband for 10 years before we got married so I had quite a lot of time to think about my “dream wedding,” and what Southind Hills delivered on May 1st was beyond anything I could’ve ever dreamed. They thought of everything, and even managed to keep our helicopter exit a complete surprise until it started descending and I shrieked! With the ability to have so many incredible resources built into a venue (warehouse of gorgeous decor, a talented florist, amazing chef, experienced coordinators, hands-on owners, a fully stocked bar, and not to mention all of the preferred vendors who know the venue so well), why would a bride look anywhere else?!

The venue itself was beautiful. However, it seemed that the staff didn't spend too much time worried about other things unless you gave them quite a large sum of money. I was impressed by how beautiful my wedding was, but I was not as impressed...

Steven and I were so impressed by everything the day of the wedding! The barn itself is so beautiful, but then to see the things I had picked out and brought in scattered around the barn just made it that much more personal!

als were beautifully arranged and I wished I had had the time to smell and touch each arrangement! I absolutely loved my bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets! They were exactly what I had envisioned in my mind! 😍
The food that I got to eat was delicious, especially the biscuit with sausage and gravy-that was our favorite! 😋 People have told me that the rest of the food was divine too, and I believe them! Also, I heard there was a cake emergency, and Chef Angela handled it like the pro that she is-I had no idea what had happened, but when I saw the cake, it looked just right!
Also, thank you to both you and Kristen for everything the day of! It all seemed to flow and run smoothly, and I think you all had a large part in that! I appreciate that both of you were so calm, yet at the same time got the job done! It made me feel confident and secure that everything would be just right!

First I would like to say that the venue is very beautiful, but the poor customer service we got was not worth spending the money! If I had to do over again I would spend my money elsewhere. They not only treated me (the bride) rudely, but also...
my family, bridesmaids, and the other professional vendors I booked like the hairstylist, florist and cake baker.
The chef was so unprofessional and catty towards me, even making me cry at one point when she griped me out for being at the venue early. She yelled at me and slammed the sliding door to my bridal suite not even giving me a chance to explain that I had already confirmed the arrival time with the wedding coordinator.
Then the chef got into it with my mother, telling her that we didn't pay enough money to get the service we expected.
We also had to help decorate that morning of my wedding when we were told it would be done the night before the wedding, nothing was done. And that was what we paid them for! But instead my mom, my hairstylist, her daughter, my bridesmaids, and I were setting up instead of getting ready for the wedding. Which this set us all back on time and caused us to miss getting pictures of my bridesmaids and I together which I will never get. That has been the most upsetting thing, and I still can't get over that I will never have them.
There is a lot more that went on than just that, but I just wanted to point out the main unnecessary drama that they caused. Instead of us getting to focus on me getting married and enjoying those moments together like you should, we were having to put up with the drama that the chef was causing. I never once got an apology from any of the staff or the owner.
