If you are looking to work with a great person and great food for an unbelievable price, then you need to look to Sugar Daddy's Catering for your wedding. I actually got her name through one of my good friends, as I had attended her wedding two... years prior where Sugar Daddy's had catered a beautiful sit down dinner. When I contacted Deanna Hawkins originally, it took her a few days to get back to me - it was apparently a very busy time (this is the only reason I took 0.1 point away). But, she will get back to you, and it will definitely be worth your time. We had several meetings with several different caterers. All of the others were literally double from the price that Deanna charged, and her food was just as good, if not better. I was shocked, and during our meeting with my fiance, my fiance even asked "What's the catch?". There is literally no catch, and you will be shocked as well. She even had food ready for us during our initial meeting where none of the other caterers would make any food until the second meeting. She even made enough food for my parents who were there as well. It was excellent, and the day of the wedding, it was just as good. We had so many compliments.
Something that makes Deanna and her company several notches above the rest, is just the fact that she wants your wedding to be special. She of course will make money, but she doesn't nickel and dime you to death. She didn't charge for the silverware, glassware or place settings like the other caterers - this adds up! Even when we picked our two choices for our cocktail hour, she just threw in fruit (without charging us extra) because she thought that would be nice for the summertime.
Deanna even came to the final consultation with the coordinator at our venue and helped her. The coordinator was struggling, and Deanna kind of helped her through (without being pushy). When the coordinator didn't have a certain table that would have looked nice, Deanna chimed in that she had one that she could bring. She didn't even charge us!
The day of the ceremony, she brought red ribbons for all of the chairs for the ceremony/reception - and she only charged us how much she was charged for the ribbons! She didn't charge extra. She also helped the entire time - she even helped tear down things at the venue to help out the venue without being asked. The venue coordinator was shocked with this. When I was getting my food (I opted for a buffet style), she even came over and took my plate to the table. And, she made sure that I had something to drink. The food was wonderful just as I had remembered. The cake was fantastic. We did a butter cream icing and didn't have to do the fondant on the outside (because it wasn't as hot as outside as it was supposed to and the butter cream wouldn't melt). There was a little 'blemish' in the icing, but nothing major and it still photographed beautifully. Everyone commented how the food and the cake was. Also, if you choose her to cater your wedding, she gives you a discount on the cake (and the price of the cake is fantastic without the discount).
Now, the bar cost was absolutely unreal. Her cost was literally 1/8 of everyone else. She just told us that she wasn't interested in making money off of the alcohol. Again pretty shocked. When most of her competition are charging $250 and up for a regular keg, she only charged what she was charged. I was shocked with the price! You will too. You can definitely do a wedding on a budget wit
