I was helping my mom and her fiancé to find a space to hold their microwedding after their original venue dropped them (mainly due to the guest list nearly doubling) one month befo...re their wedding date. ONE MONTH!
Enter Melody and the Sugar Magnolia House.
The VERY first venue I found on The Knot within that devastating hour. Fast on replies, Melody was kind, empathically forthright and her stories are outright hilarious! Put myself, my mom and her now new husband at ease nearly instantly. We met, toured the venue that following Wednesday and booked that Friday.
The house is gorgeous, immaculately clean and holds so much charm and history. So much charm and history that there was very little we wanted to do to decorate to make it appear as a wedding space.
The wedding held 50 guests happily and there are several spaces within the house that accommodates all the events that weddings bring.
I’m grateful to the universe that this venue exists (in Jacksonville’s historic Springfield neighborhood, no less) and that we were able to work with Melody.
We cannot recommend this space enough for microweddings, other small gatherings and that possible romantic weekend getaway.
