thing we needed. Attention to detail was AMAZING. We used the bridal suite which was spotless and again every detail was taken care of as promised. The ceremony space and the bridal suite were just beautiful! The groom and groomsman used the library to get dressed. That too was just great!!! The grounds are well kept which made for PHENOMENAL photographs and there is more than ample parking! My husband and I feel that Drew Westveer was a Godsend!! There were no "hidden" costs and the ceremony went off without a hitch!!!! Would repeat the experience in dealing with the truly AMAZING Drew and the beautiful Chateau at SugarLoaf in a heartbeat!!

work with and made all our guests feel so welcome. Tasked with assisting in the shower for my daughter inlaw, I could not have had a better team than Drew and Gene. They were responsive to all my questions,no matter how minute and assisted in every detail from seating, to menu, to liquor selection to adding personal touches. The staff could not have been more helpful to me or the guests. The historic mansion is truly beautiful and the whole experience was like a fairy tale. Our only regret is that we didn’t find them before my son and daughter inlaw booked the reception venue. The experience at Sugarloaf was honestly better than the wedding day experience.

Chateau is lovey - scenic and peaceful, just beautiful for photos. The building itself is classic stone with a winding drive approach. The girls dressed in the spacious bridal suite and the gentlemen gathered in the library before the ceremony. The baby grand piano in the foyer was a lovely musical addition as guests arrived. We held the ceremony indoors in the ballroom with a full wall of windows overlooking the lush green space outside. Drew facilitated all our plans and helped make sure that everything went smoothly the day of the event. We then moved to the reception in the Rotunda on the college campus - with a staircase to rival the one in "Gone with the Wind." Our guests dined in the two spacious side ballrooms and we danced and partied under the soaring dome of the rotunda and surrounding balconies. Gene, in charge of catering, was creative and flexible in helping us to select a menu to delight the palate, but not break the budget! The day was the wedding of my niece's dreams! You can't ask for more than that!

his plans were much more grand than what we got. He truly was the glue that kept events together there. We had foods at the wrong stations so that some stations were overloaded with foods that didn't belong and others were bare and pitiful and not what we asked for, the sheet cake (to supplement our tiered cake) was cut and beings served before we cut the cake, and the ice cream bar we had as an extra was opened and closed before the cake was cut. Also, the events coordinator was at the other location, so his assistant was in charge of our event. I couldn't even tell you if she had been there all night. I didn't see her even once. I think this staff has the best of intentions, but the execution of the event just wasn't there. I don't feel like I should have to pull waiters aside to start fixing the above listed items in the middle of my wedding. All of the wait staff was pleasant and kind, but really just dropped the ball on many items. We were also not thrilled with the bar. We provided quite a bit of alcohol, but their selection of mixers was definitely lacking and although vermouth was on the list of alcohol to buy, they didn't even have olive juice for martinis at a full service bar. We chose this location due to price and in the end we feel as though we should've chosen a different location that cost a little more so we could've had the service we desired.
