TLDR 20/10 stars for everything involved with the reception from booking to tastings to the actual day; 6/10 stars for hotel associated things mainly revolved around the hotel front-desk staff (the 4 points are only for Curtis)

Its tak...en me a long time to write this review. Partly because I don't like talking bad about a business that I feel like I addressed things in person, but there are more and more things I am hearing about the way my guests were treated during my wedding day that absolutely disgusts me that I have no choice but to speak on my own personal experience. So here it goes...
After our initial wedding coordinator left the Claridge for the umpteenth time, I was a little nervous to work with someone new but Jeff Sands exceeded every expectation. He was calm but present. Even put my dad at ease when he demanded Johnny Walker instead of Dewars. Lance, the banquet manager, is especially keen on details. He paid such attention to detail and went out of his way to make everything as perfect as possible. It was actually nice to see someone more stressed out on than me on my wedding day. Curtis, hotel manager, was also very accommodating leading up to my wedding day. He was very communicative for months leading up to my wedding.
My issue with the Claridge (Hotel) is the fact that some of the front desk staff have lost the concept of hospitality. We had numerous issues during check in where front desk staff were being straight up disrespectful. One extreme example I have, is that one of my cousin from Chicago called the front desk because he was not going to be able to check in the day he reserved. He did not ask for a refund- he wanted to make sure the room was not cancelled by him not checking in. Whoever he spoke to said that he had to check in to not be considered a no show and his reservation was cancelled completely. I escalated this up the chain of command to the appropriate people, was assured the reservation would not be cancelled, and he went to check in the next day and not only was the room cancelled...the room rate went up (outside of the original rate block). The kicker is that the two individuals at the front desk made a comments about my cousin (who another friend actually told em about later because of how disgusted they were from seeing/hearing it) about how more or less "hes going to be a problem."
My husband is a local native to AC (I am from Baltimore but have moved around my entire adult life), but we kept it local to AC in homage to his town. I don't regret it, but I will say that I was throughly surprised by the amount of disrespect I personally received and then even more disgusted about how my family was treated by specifically the hotel front desk staff. My advice to the Claridge Hotel would be to please teach your front desk staff about not only common hospitality rules but human decency, because the world really needs it right now.
