We had our rehearsal dinner at The Fort, and the food was delicious, the staff friendly, and the location great. It was a treat for our out-of-town guests to get a taste of Colorado. The drinks were very tasty, too. Be prepared for some kitchy-ness if you choose this venue--either that or find the catering manager and tell them what you want and don't want. My mother-in-law booked the venue and they organized a bit of fun at our expense without really telling us. All in good fun, but if you don't want a photo of you wearing a buffalo hat, make sure to tell someone. The location is great if you have younger kids coming. My cousin's kids played a bit of soccer in the courtyard when they were bored of sitting around. The views are unbeatable from the big terrace, but all the private dining spaces are on the other side of the restaurant. Make sure you take a walk to see the views of Denver--before and after sunset.
Perfect Colorado ExperienceReviewed on 9/21/2014
We held our rehearsal dinner for approx. 30 guests in Bent's Quarters at The Fort on 9/17/14. Everything came off perfectly, every "i" was dotted and "t" crossed exactly as we'd worked out with Jennefer Weeks. Weather was perfect so we could utilize the courtyard for appetizers and cocktails. Food was over the top. We had many guests who had never visited this Denver landmark and they were thrilled with the whole event. Of special note..........the service was outstanding. Not adequate or pretty good, outstanding. Our two servers, Orrin and Christie, handled the room in the finest, absolutely most professional way. We've dined out a lot and never had better, more personal service than we had that night. Planning with Jennefer is easy and she is exceedingly prepared, professional and responsive. They had a large event with a busload of guests that same night and it did not affect our evening at all. This is a fantastic place for your out of town guests to visit and makes for a memorable evening. We recommend them without any reservations. Enjoy!
The Fort Morrison, CO for Rehearsal DinnerReviewed on 8/25/2014
If every guest filled this review out, every category would be rated a 10. I live in a different state than where the wedding was this weekend, and I hosted the RD at The Fort. Jennifer Weeks is the person to contact, and she is very efficient and made everything work. I met with her in June, and the wedding was August 23, 2014. The service was unreal, the food, appetizers and the meal, was astounding. The servers also knew where to be...right next to the guests with wine and appetizers. Obviously, they all knew what to do... no down time. Many of the guests continue to comment about this fact. This was not an easy crowd to please as they are used to a high level of dining, however, everyone continues to still rave about it all. All of the staff at The Fort certainly know what they are doing and how to pull it all together which is why they have such a great reputation in Colorado. I would not waste my time looking at any other venue. It is also very interesting and historical. The ring bearers and flower girl loved playing in the teepee which can look a bit cheesy, but in reality, it is not! Adults were also intrigued by it! Perfection Plus, and Thank You, Jennifer, and your staff! Marilee
