He was on board with the bowling center and understood our desires for the ceremony. The ceremony was perfect, as if Father Ken had been our pastor forever; he was the perfect mixture of playful and solemn. Our friends asked how long we had known him and were surprised to learn we had just met him. We cannot say enough good things about The God Squad

We had requested an informal/laid-back ceremony at a park with a few friends and family, and Fr. Ken was so wonderful being so flexible and supportive and funny! I have to admit I was a little emotional/nervous during the ceremony and Fr. Ken quietly reassured me that I was doing great and put me at ease. Then I couldn't get my new husband's ring on his finger and Fr. Ken added into my vows "(Husband's name), I give you this ring, even though I can't get it on your finger right now, as a token of my love...etc.", which I promptly repeated and everyone including me laughed. He is truly a delight and you can tell he loves what he does. Thank you so much Fr. Ken!!!

d sweet just like we had hoped for! Todd was nice. We did not meet him until the day of as it is a significant amount of money to have the officiant at both the rehearsal and day of. I took off one star only because I have a difficult time with justifying how much the service costs for 10 minutes with a random clergy member. Our officiant also forgot my name despite the fact that he had our program inside of his bible. I know that is in part due to us not having one of our childhood pastors perform the ceremony. We are pretty easy going, so it wasn't that big of a deal to us. However, for the cost, it certainly was a little frustrating to have the officiant forget my name when it is in front of him and has been stated several times before. Sort of took away from the feeling of the ceremony. Overall, I think God Squad is a nice option for officiants. Father Ken and Todd were both very nice and both responded quickly to our inquiries which we appreciated very much.

finitely would not be giving 5 stars right now. My husband & I live out of state, so we had our first meeting with the original minister about a week before the wedding. After he showed up over an hour late for our meeting & with no apologies for being late, we were already pretty frustrated & he definitely did not help to put us at ease. Frankly, we didn't feel like he knew what he was doing & he seemed like his mind was somewhere else. Fast forward to the day before the wedding... I get an email telling me this same minister is no longer available for our wedding - THE DAY BEFORE! Luckily, they already had someone else on backup & he showed up (on time) to our rehearsal. He was not given any of our information, so we basically were starting from scratch with him, but he was extremely professional & did everything we asked, and then some. His name was Reverend Todd Butler & I would highly recommend requesting him if you go through this company! Up until the day of the wedding, I was thinking to myself, "maybe it was a mistake going through this company for our minister.." But then right after our ceremony, my husband came up to me & told me how great Reverend Todd was & how he was calming him down & talking him through all of his nerves prior to the ceremony. Right then & there, I knew we made the right choice. Thanks, Reverend Todd!!

outdoors, and it was a little hot, so our minister moved quickly (but it didn't feel rushed) and made necessary changes on the fly to shorten the ceremony to ensure everyone's comfort. They take your license to the town hall for you, so it's one less thing for you and your new spouse to worry about after the wedding. The GOD Squad is affordable, kind, supportive, and just so helpful. We highly recommend this service to anyone in the KCMO area considering being married! We will definitely be using them in the future when we renew our vows.

Squad was on a preferred vendors list at our reception venue. We appreciated our minister's strong theological background to meet our needs, however, this is absolutely not a requirement in the services he provides. He met with us a few times and was in constant contact with us to assure our ceremony was perfect. We chose his highest level "package" (I believe there are 3) as we felt that our ceremony was worth the investment as this was, for us, the most important part of our day. He gave us a "script" to review after we met with him extensively to discuss the layout of our ceremony and he provided a very thorough walk-through rehearsal. Everyone knew where they were supposed to be doing from the 3 flower girls to my brother's girlfriend who got us all down the aisle in order. He was very flexible to our needs and very eloquent speaker. He has been doing this FOREVER and has expertise about stance, photography and sequence. He even built our ceremony to prevent nerves from getting the best of us, walking us through each step so we didn't forget anything. We got everything we never knew we wanted. Our wedding was perfect. What bride could ask for anything more? Our guests loved the personalized touches and even giggled when our love story created opportunity for laughter. Many of my guests told me how much they loved, it was incredibly moving and was "just like" my husband and I. Cost was initially a concern, I understand that our choice was pricier than wedding books recommend budgeting for. My husband and I agreed that it was worth investing in someone else to do our worrying and planning for us. The dress is important, but what is the point of looking good when the ceremony is awful, impersonal or disorganized? Worth it over and over! Thanks God Squad. We’ll recommend you to everyone we know being married.

He is wonderful at communication, he performs many ceremonies throughout the year and has a wedding ceremony kit that will walk you through how to build a ceremony to fit your needs. He was very professional in our pre-wedding consultation and prompt for our ceremony. He has the officiant role down to a science! :-) :-) One aspect of our wedding that we have gotten SEVERAL comments on is "The Warming of the Rings." This part of the ceremony was suggested to us by Rev. Pendergrass. Our ceremony was small (only 25 people) and the warming of the rings is where you pass the wedding rings around (before placing them on your spouse's finger) to the people in attendance. They have the opportunity to hold the rings and bestow well wishes/blessings upon them. When they are returned to the bride & groom for the ceremony they contain not only the precious metal they're made of, but also the wishes and blessings of everyone in attendance. We would not have known about that Irish ceremony if it weren't for Rev. Pendergrass, and it truly made our ceremony memorable. He takes the time to learn your needs and desires as a couple so he can create a ceremony that is meaningful to you and will establish an unforgettable beginning to your marriage. Thanks GOD Squad!!

atholic priest can marry outside of the church. Two months before our wedding, he bailed on us. At that point, we didn't think that it really mattered who was marrying us, as long as someone was marrying us, and they were a person of God. We couldn't have been more wrong! We contacted The GOD Squad at the last minute, and all of the Kansas City officiants were booked. Luckily for us, one of their Topeka officiants,was available and willing to travel to KCMO. Rev. Melcher, my fiance at the time, and myself all met up at a Panera, about half way between Kansas City and Topeka a week or so before our wedding. Right off the bat we knew Rev. Melcher was a good choice, and that everything really does happen for a reason. He was very professional, yet soft and caring at the same time. He made our meeting so easy, and so comfortable that it didn't really feel like we were meeting him for the first time at all. My fiance and I got to put together our very own ceremony, which made it so personal, and that much more special. Rev. Melcher was there every step of the way to help us through the process. Everything felt good, and right, and was very exciting. For our rehearsal, unfortunately we were dealing with some changes within our venue, so there was no coordinator there to help out. Fortunately, it didn't even matter because Rev. Melcher stepped up and was Reverend, coordinator, and everything else. And we can not forget about his lovely wife, Tammy, who was also there helping us and her husband. They were fabulous. Our rehearsal was a success because of Rev. and Mrs. Melcher. Our Wedding Day: Rev. Melcher and his wife are always early, but knowing all that was going on with the venue, they were there extra early. Rev. Melcher very politely, but sternly, let the venue know that it was unacceptable that there was no coordinator there for the rehearsal. He and his wife also stepped up, yet again, to help out with whatever needed to be done (which was everything) to get ready for our big day. It's crazy, but they did even more coordinating and set-up than they did at our rehearsal. Once the wedding started, I was heading down the aisle and was in the beginning stages of a very bad panic attack from knowing that everyone of our guests was watching me. I get up to Rev. Melcher and he smiles at me, and very calmly mouths to me "Are you ok"? I said "Yeah, I'm just about to pass out from this panic attack". Immediately I noticed that he kept eye contact with me, and kept his smile. He had a calmness about him that just melted all of my anxiety away. Then I grabbed my soon to be husband's hands, looked into his eyes, and Rev. Melcher performed the most beautiful ceremony ever. He was very prepared, and well spoken. There was a lot of love, care, and emotion in his delivery. He was nothing short of Amazing! He even did the dinner blessing that I forgot to ask him to do. The prices at The GOD Squad are good to begin with, but we got so, so much more than we paid for. We couldn't be happier.

ed back from him it was regarding sending a credit card number. Upon asking a few more questions about their services, he did not even answer all of the questions in my email. My wedding venue is 13 minutes outside of their "radius" and he wanted to charge me an extra $300. I thought due to such a large price increase over such a short distance that maybe he was mistaken so I asked again to clarify. He then told me to no longer consider them for my wedding and that they were no longer available and got very rude. Personally, I do not want an officiant like that anyways so I gladly obliged but I just thought I would share my experience so others won't have to go through the experience of a rude and hateful officiant over a price, which by the way, is in my budget. I just thought it was an extreme price jump over 13 minutes and wanted clarification. Apparently that is a huge mistake with this company. Please spare yourself the trouble. A wedding is already such a stressful time anyways, who has time for a vendor like that? I would never recommend him and would rather get married by anybody else rather than use him.
