The perfect wedding venue!Reviewed on 11/13/2014 Melony G
Words can not even express how happy we are with how amazing everyone at The Kitty Knight House was on our wedding day. We can truly say that our wedding was perfect in every way! Faith our event planner was absolutely amazing and truly professional - she paid attention to every little detail and was always there to answer any questions and give her input and support. Sandy the Inn Keeper was beyond wonderful - she made our stay as well as our families stay such a wonderful experience. The staff was always polite and helpful. The food was beyond delicious and no one left hungry. Our guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed our special day :)
Spectacular Location - Excellent Service - Great FoodReviewed on 8/07/2014
My partner and I had a same sex wedding in the large tent at the Kitty Knight House overlooking the Georgetown marina on a Sunday afternoon this summer. We could not have asked for a better venue and event. We were fortunate with a sunny day, a nice breeze, in a spectacular location. From the gracious and charming Angie (the event planner), to the magnificent site, and the excellent food, it was a total success. I can't say enough positive about Angie who was incredibly easy to work with, gave helpful and useful suggestions, always responded to emails and questions, and took us smoothly through the process. We looked at other places, but thought this was the most beautiful with excellent pricing for the event and delicious food to match. Prior to the event, we met the owners who were incredibly cordial about allowing our guests the use of marina facilities. We hired Captain John and he took guests out for short rides on his boat the Dorothy while other guests danced, talked, swam, and used kayaks or paddleboats (changing areas are available). The tent is very sturdy with crystal chandeliers, hanging balloons, sides that open for breezes, easy access, and nearby parking - all overlooking the water. The dance floor is in the center; we had a great DJ with music that was at a good level for lots of dancing and easy talking. The food was set up as a buffet; while we did not get a chance to sample the butlered hors d'eouvres or most of the main dishes, all the guests complimented us on how great the food was. We brought in a wedding cake and had multiple tasty ice creams with toppings for dessert. For us the magic of the moment was only made better by Angie and her commitment to excellence - we can't say enough about how wonderful she was, the incredible service the staff provided, and how supportive everyone was about our same sex wedding. This is a great venue, a wonderful setting, a spectacular location, and you will have a blast.
A Wonderful Wedding WeekendReviewed on 2/19/2014 Megan K
The Kitty Knight House is fabulous. My husband and I celebrated our wedding weekend with our close friends and relatives in September and Angie, the event coordinator, and the staff at the Kitty Knight House were amazing. We initially booked our venue in January of 2012 and planned an April 2013 wedding date. In the early fall of 2012 we discovered that we needed to change our date and Angie was incredibly accommodating and we were able to change our date to September 2013 with ease. This was a true indication of the service this venue operates with. Over our wedding planning process and our wedding weekend the staff was AMAZING! The venue is beautiful. The waterfront setting and views are unmatched by any of the venues we looked at for our ceremony and reception. Although it is approximately 90 minutes from Baltimore, the distance is worth the views and experience. Not only are the views amazing, but the food is delicious. We chose to have a buffet styled reception and we received great feedback from our guests regarding the quality of the food. Not only is the food delicious, but the portions were appropriate and did not leave anyone feeling hungry! My husband and I along with our immediate family were able to stay at the Kitty Knight House over our wedding weekend. The staff again was incredible and the included breakfasts are delicious. We were even entertained with a little historical background of the Inn while we ate. Overall, the venue truly exceeded my expectations. I felt like a true bride and the Kitty Knight House served as a beautiful location that left our guests amazed and impressed. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a waterfront venue.
September 20, 2013 WeddingReviewed on 10/09/2013 Krystle C
I recently got married at the Kitty Knight House. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Kitty Knight House and Angie Rutherford. Angie coordinated my wedding and made sure everything was perfect. The Kitty Knight House offered a beautiful ceremony location and reception. I had my reception down by the water in their tented pavillon. I had roughly 111 people at my wedding and the tented pavillon was perfect and could have held more people. I could not have asked for a better setting, the water and the sunset was beautiful. The tented pavillon offered a very open enviornment and people loved it. The food at the Kitty Knight House was amazing. We had crab cake and steak and I will be going back for dinner just for the food alone. Thank you to Angie and the Kitty Knight House for making my day special, I will never forget all that you did.
An outstanding gorgous outside venue & catererReviewed on 8/09/2013 Ashley B
The KKH made our reception breathtaking and the location was outstanding. The spectacular sunset view of the harbor from the hill overlooking Georgetown Harbor made for breathtaking pictures. The gorgeous waterfront setting was a perfect recipe for our wedding reception. The 20 x 20' dance floor was perfect, and the space seemed very spacious. We not only had the area under the 4,800 square foot tent with an elegant draped ceiling and 8 crystal clear chandeliers, but the ground outside the tent area for cocktail hour. We are glad we chose a 5th hour for our reception, as everyone was having so much fun, the night just flew by. Dealing with the KKH with our year of planning couldn't have been any easier, Angie was the best Wedding Planner we could have asked for. She was there for us in every way. She never got tired of our questions. It was a true pleasure to work with Angie. The food was delicious, and staffing couldn't have been more excellent. Each and every one of our guest were taken care of expertly. We are more than happy to recommend this location to any couple who is looking for a breathtaking wedding reception. As a CATERER - The food was delicious, and staffing couldn't have been more excellent. Each and every one of our guest were taken care of expertly. We are more than happy to recommend this location to any couple who is looking for a breathtaking wedding reception. Kitty Knight House kitchen and bar offered us the finest food and drinks that we could have imagined. We selected the food and drinks that we wanted, and we taste tested the food in advance. We were able to select a signature drink and some of our favorite mixed drinks. The food was done to perfection, and everything was fresh and warm. All of our guests were very happy with the food and drinks. They made this the day we had dreamed it would be and more.
Kitty Knight House was a DREAM COME TRUE!Reviewed on 6/14/2012 Morgan N
What can we say except we were incredibly lucky to fall upon The Kitty Knight House. We had looked at 18 other venues *we just didn't fall in love anywhere else* and well, lucky number 19 I guess! Not only is The Kitty Knight House incredibly beautiful, they were able to accommodate all of our needs---240 guests, an outdoor ceremony with a stunning backdrop (STUNNING doesn't even come close) with a potential for indoor (if it rained...which it thankfully didn't), a bit of a rustic feeling for photos, amazing food (we have now eaten there several times and have never been disappointed- I’m mildly obsessed with the Berry Salad and their burgers are great too---the food at the wedding people are still raving about- the quality and quantity- some guests went back for thirds!), a fantastic price (did I mention we visited 18 OTHER venues)! and a one stop shop for getting ready! Before the wedding, the girls had our hair crew come to our room, ate lunch on the deck while the boys went paddle boating and fishing- you can use the pool/ kayaks and paddle boats during your stay at the Inn. We also wanted an option for after the wedding if people weren't quite ready to end the fun (they have an awesome deck bar where about 40 guests came back to listen to live music and dance for another hour and a half until the busses arrived to take them to the hotel). I loved that we rented the entire Inn for the weekend and really utilized it! We had a brunch on Sunday morning with about 55 people (also amazing- the staff is out of this world)! Oh, our event planner Angie (she comes with the package) was unbelievable. Really, I still don't know how she did everything she did. We didn't have ONE issue the day of the wedding- her and her team were ON TOP OF THINGS to say the least...and she was always available to me the months leading up to our big day- she answered all my questions and went above and beyond giving me information about where I could go for just about anything I needed. She even did all the work to have twinkle lighting added around the tent (a little added romantic feel I really wanted added to the already BEAUTIFUL tent! The Inn is really special too, with its history and the fantastic views- the Inn Keeper Sandy is very sweet and very helpful! When all was said and done I was sad to leave, not just because the wedding was over but because I’m truly going to miss checking in with Angie and Sandy. I recommend the Kitty Knight House, not just for weddings, but for parties of any kind, a romantic get-away, or even a fun Friday night out. We live about an hour away but I know we’ll be making the trip frequently just for their Berry Salad! You would be crazy not to visit this venue and quite frankly, if you’re searching for somewhere to have the wedding of your dreams, there’s a good chance your search will end here (they also have an Indoor option for smaller weddings)!
