The Needle's Eye Alterations

r $1500 for alterations. I told her that was more than than I paid for the dress. And she said "oh I'm sure it is." She told me that I wouldn't have any luck finding another person altering my dress. I felt like she tried to take advantage of me because my wedding was within 1 1/2 week away. She prayed on a young bride who was desperate for alterations. Needless to say, I DID find someone who was incredible and altered my dress. Sew Fine in Lexington did an amazing job. I will always recommend her over Needle's Eye any day. Do NOT GO HERE. You'll regret it. I'm a local business owner that work with brides and I share this experience to them.

how the alterations might change the look of the dress. Alterations are truly a speciality and an art, and I’ve seen them done incorrectly. Belinda immediately put my mind at ease with her knowledge, professionalism, and care. The dress turned out absolutely perfect! And bonus, I actually paid less for alterations than I budgeted. I know many brides are sticker shocked by alterations pricing, but it’s so worth it to get someone who knows the art. Needle’s Eye is of great value and is not over priced, especially given the quality and care of work. If you need alterations, there’s nowhere else to go! I would’ve traveled hours for Belinda!

g the weight I knew it would need alterations, but with the weight loss I knew it would be an even bigger under taking. When Belinda saw the dress she was very honest and said that the dress wasn't really made to be altered (though that's not what the store had told me.) The best part is she explained why it would be so hard to alter, showing me the process it would have to undergo to fit me. She told me she could do it but it would be expensive because she would have to reconstruct it and might not look right. This is so important because she was honest with me! I'm so glad she didn't try to alter the dress and it end up not looking right on me. I ended up buying a new dress and she altered that one and IT FIT PERFECTLY! It was snug and secure and not once did I feel the need to pull up this strapless dress. She helped fix my train, she make me look my best and was all around wonderful! She helped with my mom's dress, my sisters and another one of my bridesmaids as well. She is fabulous, worth her price a million times over and is a wonderful artist. She is professional, gives you enough time to work, her space is large and perfect for dress fitting. I wouldn't sent anyone anywhere else!

The Needle's Eye Alterations came highly recommended from a friend and now I highly recommend! Comparing to other shops, she is barely more expensive but well worth it!!! She is very detailed. My bustle was VERY inconspicuous (which I loved). She did a great job and if I ever need anything in the future, I will be back!

d easily. My dress came in April 22 and we had 3 fittings, the final on May 25 for my June 3 wedding. The price is higher than I'd hoped, but the quality of work is truly excellent and very much worth it to make sure the dress of my dreams looks perfect. It does! Highly recommend Brenda and her team!

rt. I had also wanted to potentially have some of fabric around the corset/bone of the dress taken out. I had felt that it was too tight. However, after speaking with Belinda it was decided that would be a poor decisions. Belinda definitely knows what she is doing. She has a great understanding of how the dress fabric and structure work together. She took time to explain to me why certain parts of the dress were required to be tighter to maintain the structure of the dress. She was also completely right and the fabric stretched out a bit anyway fitting wonderfully without any need to let out any of the fabric. The quality of the work I received was fantastic! You couldn’t even tell I had to have alterations done to the dress. Make sure you give yourself time to at least have a few fittings with her. She takes her time and will stagger your fittings so that the dress fit is excellent. She first did work on the bust of my dress to make sure that fit properly before doing any work on the hem or bustle. I greatly appreciated the attention to detail she had with the fittings. I definitely recommend Belinda for anyone needing dress alterations.

My dress had like 10 layers to work with and she took every single stitch into account.. my dress 'fit' before i took it in, I jsut really thought I needed the length altered.. but the final dress fitting was like magic! i swear, it was made jsut for my body... it fit like a glove, and I felt SO beautiful in it. I ended up referring my local bridesmaids to her as well. I'll def use them going forward as my new alterations place.

hat my dress was wrong for my body type and I needed to just get something different. Like I had walked in with a random dress, not one I'd ordered specifically. My teenage daughter was with me and we left quietly and my daughter after we left asked if I was ok. It took me a little bit to realize how horrible I'd been treated. I was worried my fantasy dress was all wrong for me and upset. I made an appointment with another shop and that shop asked me first thing what my vision was for the dress. I explained, they did the alterations for $95 and my dress was stunning. I will happily email pics to anyone who would like to see :-) It was also perfect for my body type. I am thin, but with smaller breasts. I sincerely think this woman was biased against a non-traditional (older, second marriage) bride. I was so glad my daughter was there and saw or I would still wonder if someone could have actually been so horrible. Also - this was my Only bad experience. :-) Thankfully.
