You don't need to decorate this house, it's so pretty naturally-inside & out! They offered an awesome catering and bar service and lead me to a fabulous florist and the best DJ ever! We got married 3 months ago and people are still talking about this venue and our reception! I HIGHLY recommend The O'Donell House and hope to celebrate our 10 year anniversary there! My cost was slightly higher because I added extra time but it was still comparable to other venues that were nowhere near as elegant!

e to follow was absolutely beautiful. I am from Myrtle Beach. My husband is from Sumter. He fell in love with The O'Donnell House upon touring it because of its classy, southern feel. I know a lot of vendors at the beach, and was set on the wedding there. He won that battle. The O'Donnell House is stunning, and they offer the rental at a very reasonable price, especially considering they allow you to supply your own alcohol! However, I did not have any clue where to start when hiring vendors in the Sumter area. Miss Wanda, owner of the house, and her daughter Christi, the caterer, spent a lot of time helping me with details. I only had 5 months to plan everything! They helped with color coordinating, the menu, ceremony ideas, decorating ideas, vendors, and much more. We hired Christi and Co. Catery, LLC to cater our wedding. My husband had a rather odd request for the menu. He insisted we had fried chicken (for a brunch), and he got it! The menu consisted of shrimp and grits, sweet potato pancakes (my favorite), chicken and waffles, delicious bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, a variety of flavored muffins, various cheeses and crackers, and an amazing fresh fruit display. The food was delicious and looked amazing. My father is still talking about the shrimp and grits. The O'Donnell House also set us up with Toast Bartending Service, LLC. Rick, (the bartender, and also part of their family) did a fantastic job mixing up yummy mimosas, and serving beer and wine. I mentioned before that they allow you to supply your own alcohol! We ordered everything in bulk from Shaw Air Force Base, and could return what was unopened after the reception. A week before my wedding, I started to freak out over ceremony details and other small things. I called Miss Wanda. She gave me the number to a friend of hers who happened to be a wedding coordinator- Gwen Herod. She was a life saver. Her information needs to be given out as part of the initial visit! I wish I would have hired her earlier! She made everything run so smooth, and took a lot of stress off of my mother and me! As an added bonus, Gwen's son, Jacob, is an amazing acoustic guitar player! This was also the perfect venue for a military wedding. Marine Corps dress blues are just so colonial looking! Pictures turned out amazing on the big, beautiful front porch. The house and grounds are gorgeous, the staff is very friendly, and they are so helpful. I could not have planned my wedding in the short 5 months I had without their help!

This was due in large part to the O'Donnell House, Christi Catery & Co and Toast Bartending Service. I could not have picked a better venue for my wedding!!

She had such wonderful suggestions, and helped us with EVERYTHING from catering, bartenders, floral suggestions, cake artist, and tent rental. She invited my parents, fiancée and I to a tasting event prior to menu selection, allowed us to visit the house the week prior to the wedding to practice our first dance on the dance floor, and was generally there to help us plan each step of the way. Wanda allowed my wedding party to arrive early on the morning of our evening wedding to get ready in a bridal dressing room located in the front of the house. The staff are true professionals and have worked with most of the local vendors many times. This left great ease for knowing exactly how things should flow and where to place things like gifts and floral arrangements. We used the china provided by the house as well, and this was a really nice added touch to our event. There wasn't a single detail that they missed and I didn't have to fret for even a second. We left that evening with a fantastic picnic basket packed by the staff filled with food from the wedding and even slices of wedding cake for us to share at home. The venue was the perfect place to have a simple yet elegant ceremony outside with a stunning old world charm inside the house. My husband and I both felt that we could not have picked a more perfect place to celebrate our love!! The house has plenty of choices for pictures from the flowers, the beautiful double doors, the oak tree, and even benches and such that helped create memories we will cherish forever! I booked the rehersal dinner at the O'Donnell House. I also opted to have their in-house catering company, Christi and Company, cater the meal. I am not exaggerating when I say the venue and the meal was perfect. The owner of the house took care of every detail to ensure that everyone enjoyed their time. Our son and his bride enjoyed the evening and had time to visit with all the out of town family members and friends. The food was incredible. I truly believe that this set the tone for a more relaxed and beautiful wedding. Everyone enjoyed the wedding, but the "family talk" has been the beautiful rehersal dinner. I can truly say that if someone is looking for the perfect place for a rehersal dinner, wedding, or reception in South Carolina, you need to visit the O'Donnell House. You will be amazed!

In all honesty I can say this is because of the hard work and commitment of Wanda and Christi and the Staff at the O'Donnell House..
