The First Look
The Pads at the Aloft Hotel will entice couples and their guests with a burst of vibrant colors. As a building that used to be the Santa Fe Railroad Train Depot, it still retains some of its 1924 features, making it an excellent option for a historic wedding. This includes exposed brick walls original wooden beaming and 13-foot high ceilings. With such expansive olden-day spaces that somehow blend with modern-day décor, this is a truly unique wedding venue.
With enough room for 140 guests at a ceremony and 250 guests for a reception, the Pads at Aloft Hotel is expansive enough for a reasonably sized wedding. Newlyweds-to-be and their guests can utilize three areas, which includes:
The Lounge. Featuring contemporary décor that's crisp and clean, the lounge has a fashionable atmosphere for intimate affairs. For couples that want to take a minimalist approach, it's a winning choice.
Indoor Ceremony Space. With windows that reach from floor to ceiling and white drapes, the indoor ceremony space instantly feels romantic. A combination of large stone pillars and white foldaway chairs make the room enticing, allowing couples to impress guests of all tastes.
Reception Spaces. With uplighting that can make any theme pop, the wedding reception spaces available at the Pads at Aloft Hotel are excellent for developing any theme.
What You Should Know
Couples that want to book the Pads at Aloft Hotel must pay a 50 percent deposit of the agreed food, beverage and space package to secure their place. If the estimate isn't complete, they can secure their date by paying a $1,500 fee. Daytime event setup can begin at 8 a.m. and the event must finish by 3 p.m. Those arranging an evening event can set up as early as 4 p.m..
The packages at this venue include tables, chairs, basic china and silverware. In addition, couples can use black and white linens and napkins or they can upgrade to different colors for a fee. Self-parking is available or for an additional price, valet parking. All events at Pads at Aloft Hotel will require a security guard. There must be one security guard for every 100 guests for a fee for the agreed period.
It's possible to have the ceremony in one room and a reception in another. Couples can arrange a bespoke catering package with the chef or they can choose from those available. Examples of food that's typically served includes lemon-thyme roasted chicken, chicken and crab cakes, jumbo shrimp marinated in basil and wrapped in prosciutto and chilled sliced lobster tails. A variety of stations are available, including wok stations, macaroni cheese and omelette stations. There is also a huge variety of dessert station options, such as build-your-own-cupcakes and milkshake shot station.
As far as venues with a funky vibe go, the Pads at Aloft Hotel is difficult to beat. Vibrant uplighting on the exterior, a clash of colors against brick walls in the entrance hall and sharp furniture contribute to a truly modern vibe. Other extra perks newlyweds-to-be and their couples can enjoy include:

The Pads is a very chic and modern, not for the traditional bride. When you rent the venue you must also use the catering service offered by Chef Douglas Brown. The catering sales director, Angela, worked within our budget and our guests left impressed and very satisfied. I would truly like to thank The Pads for their service.

I booked the pads for my reception and it was a great bargain! We had the entire downstairs for our event and did not have to share with other events and the staff was dedicated to my wedding the entire evening! We were able to begin setting up at 9am that morning for the 7pm reception. The best part was there was no food and Ben minimums! The venue is funky and boutique and had Dallas skyline as our back drop. A true Dallas wedding for the true Dallas bride!

They offered us a great rate for a downtown Dallas hotel, but that was about the only thing that wasn't a disaster about this place. When we booked the hotel, they failed to mention that they had booked someone's 40's birthday party in the lobby. After being on my feet all day at my ceremony and reception, I just wanted to sit down in the lobby and have a drink with my out-of-town guests. Instead, we walked into a hip-hop club that not only took over the entire bar and lobby, it thumped through the night. I like hip-hop music, but not on my wedding night and I can't BELIEVE they didn't tell us that this party was booked when we reserved this hotel. The front desk staff was incredibly rude and our room was dirty when we in. I used to be a big fan of Starwood properties and I have stayed in them all over the world, but after this experience I would rather stay at a Motel 6 then EVER stay at one of their hotels again.

Things were a little shaky in the beginning, but in the end it all turned out just fine. The food was delicious. The staff who worked the wedding/reception were AWESOME. Jose was the best! Thanks.
