My husband and I debated skipping videography in order to save on costs when planning our wedding, then we found Uncommon Weddings and their pricing made videography too hard to pass up. Our wedding day feels like such a blur and in hindsight I am SO grateful that we splurged on videography. Sway and his team were incredibly professional, we opted to purchase all of our day-of raw footage and the videos are memories that we will cherish and rewatch for years to come. We had a really good experience with Uncommon Weddings from the pre-event communication, during event coordination, and post-event results. Our 4-minute wedding video captured the day perfectly, and I would definitely say this was the most communicative of all our vendors.

This review is exactly one year late (how far can the excuse of running on Filipino time go?), but my husband and I are so happy we had our wedding day captured by Leo and the Uncommon Weddings team. As we celebrate our one-year anniversary, we are so grateful that we have these videos to relive our perfect day. The process was smooth, and we couldn't be happier with the end result. They captured our wedding and all the feelings attached to it, and it felt so uniquely ours. Many of our family members cried, laughed, and felt all the emotions again watching the footage. Their prices are so worth the investment. I was appreciative of the honesty with pricing, and the flexibility of what we wanted in our package. There was one tiny miscommunication about what we wanted covered, but they made it right for us with no complications. The videographers on wedding day were so fun and loved how well they worked with our other vendors. When I was researching videographers, I was afraid of getting a "copy+paste" style of wedding videography. I was so impressed that they embraced and captured my family's goofiness, our crazy planned antics, and all the precious moments in between. We knew we wanted to hire a videographer at the start of wedding planning. It was really difficult to find one that understood our vision - until we talked to Sway at The Uncommon Weddings. Sway provided really helpful suggestions for our event planning. The videography crew is easy to communicate with. The final raw footage and highlight videos arrive in time. Although they took about 8 weeks of waiting, still worth it.

If your budget can swing it, hire videographers! My husband and I are so excited to have a copy of our ceremony and toasts to look back upon. You forget so many of the details and this is a great way to remember them. We hired Uncommon Weddings because they had filmed in our venue before and are very affordably priced for the value of what you get. We had great customer service with the owner, Sway, who described what would happen at each step of the process and was great at the sales stage. The project coordinator that was our point of contact did not seem as seasoned as he was and we had some bumpy communication at times. The first draft of our highlight video had technical issues like the music being too loud to hear the audio clips they chose, but they included a round of edits in their package and we were happy with the final product. Expect to get something similar to their other work (check out their past work on youtube or their website). You even get to pick the music in your highlight reel! Overall, they provided what we wanted from hiring a videographer.

Sway and his team made this such an easy process for me and my husband - they knew exactly what to do, when to do it, and when to ask questions. Somehow they were everywhere at once on our wedding day, but they were invisible! They captured so many amazing moments, and we have loved sharing the videos with friends and family who couldn’t make it, as well as with family who wanted to relive the day.

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE YOU EVEN CONSIDER THE UNCOMMON WEDDINGS COMPANY TO FILM YOUR SPECIAL WEDDING DAY!*** ***SCREENSHOTS OF MY EXPERIENCE BELOW*** We hired the Uncommon Weddings to film and edit our wedding in August 2021, WHAT A MISTAKE! Completely disorganized and poorly ran company! Their contract had an 8-week turnaround time for delivering the video, and I was completely patient and understanding of the backlog due to COVID and familiar with how much work goes into post editing. Christmas is starting to come up (4 months after the wedding), and I decide to check in on a status update with our coordinator Kelsey, no response for TWO WEEKS! I try their Instagram, no response either. Eventually I had to put in a request for their Contact Us portion as if I was a new customer just to get their attention. After weeks of just getting them to respond back we learned that THEY LOST OUR FOOTAGE!!! What is even worse, is that THEY DID NOT HAVE A BACK UP COPY ON ANY HARD DRIVE!!! They ship a physical hard drive to their editors, and their editor confirmed to the film shooter that they received the hard drive with the footage when they in fact DID NOT! The film shooter then deletes his footage off his hard drive, and the ONLY physical copy floating around is lost in the mail since a week after the wedding in August 2021 all the way through Christmas 2021 and into 2022. THEIR WHOLE TEAM IS SO NEGLIGENT AND CARELESS, that they didn’t even know the hard drive was MISSING or that the POST EDIT WAS NEVER EVEN STARTED until I brought it to their attention in January 2022. Even after all of this I still find myself not a priority as I have to be the one to contact them just to get a status update of what is going on. Sway titles himself as the “Director of Dreams” but he can’t even oversee that his team is SNOOZING AWAY and NOT KEEPING TRACK OF COMPLETED or STARTED PROJECTS. They obviously weren’t the most expensive videographers, but I got what I paid for. UNORGANIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL, NO LEADERSHIP, NON-DELIVERING, SHAM OF A COMPANY. Although I was refunded, I CAN NEVER REPLACE THE MEMORIES FROM OUR WEDDING DAY. I have nothing from the UNCOMMON WEDDINGS, matter of fact they cost me money as I paid to feed their videographers at my wedding. NEVER HIRE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE A ONCE IN A LIFETIME MEMORY LIKE MY WIFE AND I. SO PLEASE DO YOURSELF AND US A FAVOR, DO NOT HIRE THEM!!!

The entire experience with The Uncommon Weddings was amazing! We booked during COVID and had to change our dates a few times due to restrictions and they were so accommodating and understanding. Unfortunately we experienced numerous communication issues (over a week to get a response, and videographer saying he called us when we had not talked to anyone in a year). Also, be aware if you pay over 600 for a zoom stream they do not record it so you have no record of who attended. The day of one of the main videographers was not getting along with our photographer and kept making comments that only caused us more stress. We also paid for the 3 week turnaround but did not get anything closer to 5-6 weeks, we did get a small refund so I will give them that. This is the only wedding vendor that I would not recommend.

The team at Uncommon Weddings are truly amazing! Everyone from Kelsey and Sway who helped us with coordination, to Edgar and Richie who came onsite to do the actual filming at our wedding. They were extremely flexible and compassionate as we dealt with multiple COVID related wedding reschedules, which really meant the world to us. Then came our wedding day, Richie and Edgar were extremely friendly with our guests and did an amazing job making my wife and I feel comfortable as they filmed. Many family members including our flower girls commented on how great these two were! Lastly, and perhaps most important, we recently received the final edited footage and wow the team did such an incredible job! Searching for a reasonably-priced videographer with quality work, is extremely hard to come by! After weeks of searching, we FINALLY came across the Uncommon Weddings. She help us with the last few payments and helped us get our raw footage! Another bonus that we thought was pretty cool - they sent us gifts leading up to the big day! They sent a Starbucks gift-card, a care package, and a “Wedding Day - Oh Sh*t Kit” - which was super fun and cute! It was such a nice surprise! Especially in the midst of planning a wedding. They truly go above and beyond for their customers! Our videographers the day of were Daniel and Constantine who were phenomenal! They took the time to understand who we were as a couple and what our expectations were for our big day! We loved that they were very professional, respectful, and got along with both of our crazy families at the wedding! They were such a joy to have and they blended seamlessly into the big day making sure to capture everything we wanted. They are truly a Hidden GEM! We cannot recommend them enough! For any future video services we may need - they will be our go-to! Trust us! You won’t regret it!

As a wedding photographer in Sacramento I have worked with numerous videography teams. The Uncommon Weddings is one I will never stop referring. Not only is their work fantastic but their price points are amazing for the video you get back. To top it off Sway, the owner, is very professional and bends over backwards for his couples. The Uncommon Weddings were great to work with. They were always so willing to work with any wants and needs I had. They were great on sending updates and confirmations right before the event. I even seen one of the videographers at another wedding and he recognized my husband and I. It’s relationships like these that stick with me forever! Lastly, all my wants were in our video. We absolutely loved it!

When COVID slashed a lot from our wedding, we were able to afford a videographer. From researching and discussing with other videographers, the uncommon wedding had by far the cheapest and had the most value than any of the other videographers out there. They immediately were responsive and reached out frequently. They were professional and respectful with every interaction. They were accommodating and listened to the many edits and suggestions I had and yet the reason for my rating would be simply I was underwhelmed with the final product. It could easily be just personal preference so I wouldn't necessarily dissuade anyone from using uncommon wedding but I just was not blown away with my final product. One item that did turn me off was while crediting our photographer on social media platforms, they referred to her as part of the "team" which is true they teamed up but our photographer has never worked with them before nor is she affiliated with them in any way so it seemed a bit misleading.

I can not say enough good things about the Uncommon Team. As you can imagine planning a wedding in 2020 was not the easiest, they were so flexible with me and open to all of my new ideas. The team was so responsive when I emailed them and emailed me back right away. I was blown away by how great our videos turned out and how quickly they got them back to me. When the team arrived on my wedding day they were so friendly and respectful. My wedding guests came up to me and said how friendly and nice they were, they said it was so refreshing to meet people that were so professional yet so friendly. The team was running ideas by me on my wedding day to make sure I was happy with everything and they were open to all my ideas that I had, ad they found ways to make them better. My husband and I find ourselves watching our wedding video people we can just not believe how great they captured our day. The team was great about making sure everything that was important to us was covered in full detail. Our videos are a perfect depiction of how day and I could not be happier with our choice of booking with them..;lo9

The uncommon team did a great job at my wedding noir videographers were professional but so much fun to work with. They did miss one dance with my bridal party but camera need battery changes. You won’t regret hiring them for your wedding I promise.
