They were also totally flexible with all of our requests, including our unique ceremony entrance and exit ideas, which they executed great! For the reception, they played the perfect mix we requested (oldies and classics to start, then more aggressive dance songs as the night went on). Our dance floor was busy the whole night and I was sore for a few days afterwards from all the fun, but it was obviously worth it. If all that isn't enough to convince you, Top Hat went above and beyond our wildest expectations when they took it upon themselves to help our family that couldn't attend our wedding still experience it via Zoom. We were planning to use our laptop, but when we hit a technical issue, they quickly volunteered their backup computer. THEN, instead of just connecting our family to the Zoom call at the reception before they gave their speech (via Top Hat's extra audio equipment they generously provided), our DJ, Mike, spent 30 MINUTES taking the laptop to all the tables so everyone could chat with our virtual guests AND he gave them a tour of the entire place so they could see the desserts, photo booth, welcome table, etc. It was incredible service, far above and beyond their audio responsibilities, and it meant the world to all of our family (both those at the wedding and those connecting to it online). I'm tearing up now as I think back to it last week. These guys are the best and will be the perfect DJ for your wedding. Period.

fun. Then on the wedding day I couldn't have asked for anything better. Mike KILLED IT as our DJ- we received MULTIPLE compliments from guests that they can't wait to party with Mike again next year! He was personable, professional, and detail oriented. I created Spotify playlists and reviewed very specific songs (and timing within songs) that Mike executed with perfection. With COVID precautions, masks were required on the dance floor; let me tell you, the dance floor was PACKED the entire night regardless! He played hit after hit and read the crowd the right way. We had a sparkler sendoff and one of our guests started singing "Proud to be an American"... well you better believe that Mike found the song on a playlist and held a speaker out towards the sparklers for everyone to sing along!! He went above and beyond to make our day easy; he was so go-with-the-flow. We cannot say enough about TopHat and how we would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a DJ to keep the energy high and contribute to the fun and love of your special day. We can't wait to use TopHat again at our larger reception next year!!

He has such vibrant and amazing energy that is a great balance at a wedding…. He was energetic and fun without being cheesy or weird! Mike from our first conversation put me at such ease explaining my situation and one of the first things he said is we are going to make this THE best wedding and I promise to do all that I can to help make this day a dream. I had some fun things planned throughout the ceremony/reception and he helped execute them all immaculately and without stress. I can’t tell you how many family members and friends were complimenting him during and after the wedding just from their experience and brief interactions with him. Damon was our DJ and he did a PHENOMONAL job. Every single person at our wedding commented on what a great DJ we had! He set up a call with us before the wedding to make sure we were all on the same page about music selections --- and we were! He mixed up music effortless and flawlessly! The dancing didn’t stop all night! He checked in with us numerous times throughout the wedding to make sure everything was going as we wanted it to! We could not have had a better DJ! He listened to all of our music selections and played them all in a great order and mash up! He was great with announcements on the microphone as well! Every single aspect of our wedding reception from the entrance songs and first dances to the toasts to the cake cutting was PERFECT! My wedding coordinator recommended Top Hat Entertainment’s DJ services; I was slightly nervous at first because we had associated DJ’s with cheesy/cliche weddings and we desperately wanted to avoid that. However, I reached out to Mike anyway and I am SO GLAD I DID. He immediately calmed my fears and went above and beyond to ensure that he would provide us with exactly what we needed in terms of wedding music. My husband is a bit of a music snob, and Mike allowed us to create our own playlists and happily agreed to stay away from all typical wedding music. However, we gave Mike permission to read the crowd and add/omit songs as he saw fit - and he did an amazing job of that!!At the wedding itself, Mike was able to read the crowd so incredibly well and played a perfectly curated selection of music (both our suggestions and his own) and I can truly say I have never seen or heard of a livelier wedding reception!! Everyone was glued to the dance floor the ENTIRE NIGHT and I’m relatively confident I never stopped moving once. There was not an ounce of cheesiness; Mike was a pure delight!! Additionally, I had not planned on getting a Photo Booth, but Mike convinced us to include his magic mirror photo booth and the guests ABSOLUTELY loved it. That ended up being a highlight of our reception! Looking back, I am genuinely SO GRATEFUL our band screwed us over & that we went the DJ route with Top Hat. Highly recommended!!!!

at the rehearsal dinner BBQ as a tribute to all the parties my husband and I throw at our home in NY, and even though Top Hat didn't have it, Mike and team MADE the giant beer pong set for us... and the guests LOVED it! Throughout the planning process, the level of service and expertise was incredible. Mike was always quickly responsive, and very detail oriented. He helped me talk through any questions and concerns, and kept my stress levels low. And even though the group works on multiple weddings every weekend, I always felt like ours was the most important one on their agenda. We absolutely recommend Mike and the Top Hat team!!!

al day of, Mark set up everything without any problems and given we had a more non-traditional ceremony, he set up wireless microphones and acoustics that worked beautifully. During the dinner and dancing, he played our playlists with his own minor additions to perfection and was extremely in tune with the ebb and flow of the evening and which songs to play. All in all, we couldn’t have had a more enjoyable experience with everyone at TopHat and we highly recommend them to anyone having a wedding or other big event.

We had over 400 pictures send to us digitally over Dropbox and our guests got a copy of their pictures on the spot. Absolutely worth every penny! We had a couple of very non-traditional songs and Top Hat was able to access them and have them cued up, ready to go in no time. My wife requested an older song for her father/daughter dance and Mike and Daren tracked down the specific artist she wanted (it’s been covered and rerecorded hundreds of times). It made a special moment even more memorable. But I really want to talk about how fantastic Daren was. He was sharply dressed and was spring-loaded and ready to go when we walked into the reception. He had lists out and promptly got the wedding party in line for announcements. There were three separate entrance songs and Daren seamlessly transitioned from one to the other. And he was fully tuned in to what was happening. Our first dance wedding song was starting to run a bit longer than I anticipated and I simply made eye contact with Daren behind the table and he instinctively knew to wind down the song. He even faded the song out right as it went into an instrumental so it didn’t seem as though he “yanked the needle off the album”. Daren knew what we needed before we even knew we needed it. He was focused and extremely professional. I can only assume that every employee at Top Hat is of that caliber. We cannot say enough about this man. We could not have prayed for a better person for the job. Magic Mirror photo booth, and had SO MUCH fun with it... everyone LOVED it! It was very easy to communicate with Top Hat, and they made sure everything flowed smoothly, and that we got exactly what we wanted. Our best man was overseas and recorded a video for his speech, so Top Hat made sure that everything was downloaded and ready to go on their projector when it came time to show it... we were a little nervous about it actually happening, but Top Hat pulled through flawlessly. It was also a bonus that DJ Daren allowed our videographers connect to the soundboard, so that we now have great audio recordings of the ceremony and speeches. Like I said, I can't say enough good things about Top Hat, their employees, and their services! Would definitely recommend!!

He stayed later than we planned and kept playing, because our guests were having such a great time. He worked closely with the catering manager as well, to ensure a smooth and fun day for us. My only recommendation would be to meet with your DJ beforehand, even if it’s just a day or two. Tyler ended up wanting to check in with us about some things day-of, during cocktail hour, and we just wanted to get out there with our friends and family. Coming from out-of-state, this was hard to work out, but I wish we had been able to meet ahead of time, even for an hour or so. Other than that, everything was perfect and we’d recommend them hands down!
