y, he took initiative in keeping us on track to have everything prepared . I was nervous because I didn't have a chance to meet him beforehand due to my work schedule - I booked Upscale after looking at/liking all the information online - but it was so easy to hash out logistics with him over the phone and he responds to emails right away (so important!!). We had two friends perform a song for us and they needed to borrow some equipment - he was so helpful with that as well. Lastly, on the day of, the Upscale team was SO energetic and fun. My guests couldn't stop raving about how much they loved the music. I was over the moon!

In the months leading up to the wedding, he was always available to answer questions and dropped by our venue to check out the ballroom for lighting. The day of our wedding, Leo and his staff went above and beyond. The dance floor was packed the entire night! He played our favorite music (house, hip hop, pop) and blended in Arabic music perfectly as we requested. The MC was fun and not over the top as I’ve seen at other weddings. We had a percussionist who did an amazing job and was fun for everyone to interact with. Our guests had a blast and were talking about the music/DJ days after the wedding. The photo booth was a hit, definitely a nice addition and everyone was happy to go home with their photos. Overall we couldn’t have been happier with Upscale. If I could give more than 5 stars I would, highly recommend to future couples!

ere available- and the price was so low compared to our other prospects. I'm sad to say that I wish we never booked Upscale Sound. I would not recommend Upscale Sound because they could not handle last minute changes/improvisation, they did not communicate well before, during, or at the event, and because owner/DJ Leonel acted with extreme unprofessionalism, allowing his ego to get in the way of his performance. As Leonel requested a playlist, we sent over a google doc with song suggestions expecting that he would make a playlist based on this (this was our experience sending the same doc to our other DJs for our other 3 separate Indian wedding events). He acted like the doc was the end-all-be-all of instructions, and found it troubling that we had additional different requests at the event. We asked for feedback on the music and suggestions, trying to open the channels of communication, but all he responded was "all set." We were forced to give him constant instruction throughout the night which really took away from our own enjoyment and our time with our guests. Once the music was settled and no longer a problem, volume was still a constant issue. Music volume was too high for our guests to speak to each other over dinner, despite us asking Leo to turn the volume down. This mixed with some bad music choice made some of our guests leave early. Some of our other guests later saw Leo was struggling with the job and tried to help him by providing more ethnic song suggestions. Things must have gotten a bit hectic for him - despite Leo claiming otherwise, songs were played twice and some songs were not played at all. I'll let that slide because things were back on the right path and it seemed like guests were starting to have fun dancing. I think it is important to note the DJ, Leonel's, behavior was totally unprofessional and almost child-like. It is unfortunate how much he let his ego get in the way of his performance and his behavior both at the event and afterwards. He could not accept that we were so unsatisfied, but instead of trying to make it right, he went the opposite route and tried arguing and placing the blame elsewhere. We never got an apology of any sort. I previously wrote a more detailed review that Leo was unsatisfied with- and soon after, my husband (who has nothing to do with the review) and I were receiving harassing and intimidating emails calling us names, writing in all caps, etc. It was kind of excessive. This makes me wonder how many other negative reviews he has pressured people to remove. All in all, the night went on and the kids had fun. Our adult guests still say things to me about how they think the DJ did a bad job, but there's nothing I can do except leave this review in hopes that it prevents the same thing from happening to another couple. I would never recommend upscale sound. The price is appealing, but it is cheap for a reason.

ot the upscale package which was honestly so affordable, I felt like it was free...That included up lights which transformed the cozy barnyard venue we chose into a whimsical winter wonderland. I changed my mind on a few details during the duration of working with Leo, but he worked with me every step of the way, which was so awesome and always with a smile! Everyone raved about the photobooth which was a lovely addition! The music was amazing, I don’t think the dance floor was empty for a second. Seriously people, look no where else, if you want excellent service, especially on a budget, book Upscale Sound and Lighting!

and let them in on our vision for a romantic night. We booked a custom package as we were only in need of lighting, MC, speakers, DJ and of course, the infamous photo booth. Leo was sooooo kind and most importantly, straight forward about everything that we would expect. The best part was how unbelievably affordable they were. I requested some songs and he assured us (me and Patrick) that they would be played and they were. The photo booth was fun and exciting for our guests and the photos that printed were in high quality which made me very happy since I myself am a photographer. It was such a wonderful night and I have to thank Leo and his staff for executing everything so wonderfully! 5 stars are NOT enough.

Upscale Sound & Lighting was recommended to us by our catering venue, Jericho Terrace. Before meeting Leo, we emailed him our concerns and desires for our big day. My husband and I shared the importance of blending specific songs from our cultures as well as ensuring that all of our guests were always on the dance floor. We wanted our guests to have a great time and leave the reception SMILING. Over the phone, Leo assured us that he was able to meet our requests. When we met Leo in person for the first time, he already had a sample mix for us to listen to. From Reggaeton and Soca to Cumbia and Chutney. We were so impressed with his work ethic and creativity. My husband and I immediately knew he was our guy to DJ our wedding. I even thought to myself, "If this is a foretaste of the music, then the music at the wedding will be nothing short of unique to get our family and friends moving and grooving." That thought actually became praises to Leo and his team after our wedding. Our wedding was nonstop laughter and dancing because of Leo and his passion for music. It was such a fun time that our guests didn't want to go home!!! Seeing our loved ones dance to both of our cultures was one of the highlights of our wedding. The MC, staff at the photo booth and Leo truly tailor the experience to the client's individual needs! Thank you, Upscale Sound & Lighting for putting a smile on our guests as well as ours!

The DJ Louie did a good job with mixing English and Spanish music to keep everyone happy, and the MC Manny was energetic and did a great job entertaining our bilingual (English/Spanish) crowd. And the photo booth was quite a hit, and the attendant Joe made sure it had the correct hashtag and it functioned properly. Leo and his team are top notch, and very professional and friendly!
