I have been getting my hair cut by Karen from Uptown Looks since I was in college, but had never really considered asking her for any sort of updo for special occasions. My wedding was the one event that I couldn't risk having bad hair, so bot...h my mother and I scheduled hair appointments for the morning of my wedding.
I have very thick, wavy blonde hair, and Karen managed to create an updo that lasted well into the evening and defied the wind and humidity. She was also able to give my heavy hair beautiful height at the crown.
My mother, who has finer, shorter hair then me, opted for a twisted half-up/half-down style, and it also wore beautifully throughout the evening at my outdoor wedding and reception.
When Karen rang us out, I was astonished at how inexpensive it was! She gave me a complete wash and dry before setting me under the dryer and giving me the most elaborate hair I've ever had, all while making sure I still looked entirely like myself.
