I booked AJ bc she had done my make up (being a bridesmaid) at my best friends wedding, so now that it was my turn, why not chose her again?! She was spunky, sassy and sweet. Which is why I immediately booked her.
Communication is the reason ...why Im throwing her a 2 star. I had reached out to her numerous times on IG messenger, FB messenger and email, all asking for information on what she needed for me. I have copies of all messages. She only responded a few times just letting me know she was excited.
THE EVENING BEFORE MY WEDDING, she took the time to finally get our details together on when she was able to meet up for wedding make up. A. Day. Before. My. Wedding. She told me the time of her arrival and sprung on my she wasn't aware of my "distance" from my place from hers and asked for a travel fee, and Also asking me what I told my maids her fees were. I had responded with what I knew from the wedding I was in. $50 a service. Again, one. Day. Before. My. Wedding. She tells me her rates went up and we should have discussed things. She replied "no worries, it's my fault for wait til now" but then ended the convo asking if I could ask my girls to make their payment "adjustments". ONE DAY BEFORE MY WEDDING. I cannot stress enough how stressful that was. All my maids and myself included had money taken out (cash only) ready for the next day to be glammed up.
Her make up is wonderful. I would just make sure you have an answer for all questions at least a month before your wedding. I just trusted her (my fault) bc she had worked on me for another wedding.
I really hate to throw a 2 star rating bc my make up was wonderful, but her professionalism wasn't on point. I had reached out in April, July and August and 2 weeks before my wedding in September and 1 week before my wedding (asking for a time of arrival for make up) and didn't get my answer until the day before my wedding and with that came price changes and an added travel fee.
I felt like a jerk off to ask my bridesmaids for them to cough up more money with less that a days notice. I ended up cutting a check to make up for all the differences for my girls bc of the lack of communication on her part. I swallowed my pride bc at the end of the day, I had no other option. This was all I had bc it was less than 24 hrs of my wedding day.
My advice to other brides when booking AJ. just make sure you have all your info set to go 2 weeks the latest before your wedding date. If you don't get replies, move on. I don't think any bride should have to reach out so much seeking information and then getting your answers less than 24 hrs before your wedding day.
