Alicia and Chris are classically trained musicians who have been performing weddings and special events for over 20 years. Friends at RIC, they graduated and went their separate ways. Alicia moved to San Diego and later moved around Asia, Europe, and Australia performing with various artists of different genres. Chris took the RI and MA scene by storm performing with various artists. 15 years later they reunited and soon after performed a wedding together. This began thier inspiring musical journey together.

We recommend Virginia James! The entire process was very positive! The booking, the choice of songs (the song list is extensive), the actual day of the wedding, all went without any issue.
Now let’s talk about the performance…WOW! They arrived on time, set up the performance area, sound system and the microphones. The equipment they use is the best. The sound system easily covered the outdoor ceremony and was tastefully placed so as not to distract. The officiant and the groom were miked up and we all clearly heard what was being said.
Then there is the playing; this duo of violin and guitar was a great match for our vision. They played all the songs we requested, and it made for a fairytale like wedding ceremony.
We are very grateful for the excellent experience Virginia James provided.

Wow- Alicia and Chris made our wedding so magical with their incredible musical talents!! We would highly recommend them to anyone that wants that special addition to their event! We knew from the start of planning that we wanted live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour. When we met Alicia and Chris, we knew they were the ones to deliver. Besides being incredibly kind and easy to talk to, their musical repertoire is sooooo comprehensive! We wanted a mixture of nerdy theme songs (like Lord of the rings), oldies like Neil Young, and newer hits as well. Alicia and Chris were able to perform all of them beautifully! Even two months after the wedding, we are still getting so many compliments regarding their music- it is definitely one of the highlights of the day! Virginia James Band was the most amazing addition to our ceremony in Newport, RI. Chris and Alicia are so professional throughout the whole process, and play the most beautiful music together. Virginia James can do it all!! We had a rock inspired wedding and had guests dancing at our cocktail hour to their renditions of awesome rock tunes. They fill the air with such a full, rich and gorgeous sound! They also played so beautifully and so refined for the ceremony.
