Elsewhere Wedding Films
$$$ – Moderate
Elsewhere Wedding Films is a wedding videography business based out of Brattleboro, Vermont but services all of New England. It's your wedding day. As the finishing touches are made to your hair and your family and friends laugh and joke with anticipation of your big reveal to your lover, will you have those moments recorded? You and the guys are hanging back in the reception hall, and before you head out to the ceremony a last "bottom's up" cheer is called out and you knock back a drink to cool those nerves before standing before all your friends and family to say your vows. Will you have those last friendly words before you're married captured on film? Elsewhere Wedding Films will be there to catch those subtle moments that will be priceless to you once the moment has passed. If a picture is worth a thousand words, there are twenty four "pictures" or frames in one second of video! I grew up shooting weddings for my grandfather in Boston. I joke that he's like the Godfather of photo and video for weddings in the North Shore, as he started in the 80's and grew a thriving business that he still runs to this day. At fifteen he said to me, "Alright Colby, time to teach you to shoot video," and I've been doing it ever since. This turned me on to a degree in Digital Filmmaking at Champlain College in Vermont, and my time in Burlington turned me on to the Green Mountain state! In 2014 I started my own wedding films business under the very creative name "Colby Thompson Films," and have shot and edited hundreds of wedding across New England. Eventually I moved up to New Hampshire, and a few years ago crossed the bridge (figuratively and literally) to Vermont, where my partner and I live in our DIY tiny house on a few acres of beautiful forested land that we've set up a little homestead on. Being a wedding filmmaker involves so much responsibility, and so much finesse. When I go out to shoot for a couple, I'm locking down angles and shots that I know will tell the story of a moment, of a location, of a design choice a couple has made for the reception. Movement, timing, depth of field, focal length, artistry. Fourteen years of wedding experience has taught me something, and now I'm ready to make films for people in the area I love and call home. As a side note, our home is completely solar powered with an off-grid battery system, so you could say your film was made with 100% renewable energy! If that's not the ultimate Vermont wedding film, I doin't know what is!

Wood & Ether
$$$ – Moderate
Hey all! Thanks for being here. While The Knot is a fantastic place to find vendors I prefer that couples who are interested in working together head to my site, go through my portfolio to see if we'd be a good fit, and fill out a submission form. Packages start at $3,800. I look forward to hearing about the celebration you're planning! https://woodandether.com/ Hello, I'm Macaulay. I’m a filmmaker based in Burlington Vermont. I’m a lover of indie-folk music, photo books, Charlie Kaufman movies, and short fiction. My journey with image making began over a decade ago on analog film and while the majority of my work is shot digitally these days I still apply the same level of intentionality, treating each frame as precisely as one does a finite roll of Kodak Portra. I believe in quality over quantity and the profundity of quiet moments. A day doesn’t go by that I’m not awed by the world; that’s why I document. Time and light aligning just so to allow for a perfectly exposed frame seems impossibly beautiful. The same could be said of your love story. The decades over which your ancestors migrated, the decisions minute and colossal that led to not only your existence but to that moment in the laundry mat, on the train, in a college creative writing class, where you met your person are incalculable. Love is nothing short of a miracle and now that you have made the decision to get married I’d be honored to document your day.
