Couples can treat their guests to a relaxing, country-style wedding at Bo-Mar Farm. The charming venue is listed on the National Historic Register, with the original land grant issued in 1837. Home to a nut grove, antique farm equipment, wood fences and silos, the historic property provides plenty of opportunities for unique wedding photos. With a capacity for up to 200 guests, Bo-Mar Farm offers dedicated spaces for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
Nut Grove. The beautiful nut grove is a wonderful place for taking wedding pictures.
Wedding Area. True to the down-home farm theme, the wedding area has hay bales lined in front of the wedding arch for guest seating. Shaded with large trees, the space keeps guests cool while they watch the couple exchange vows.
Hangar. The ideal place for a wedding reception after the ceremony, the hanger is a 30-foot by 40-foot indoor space.
Outdoor Reception Space. Outside of the hanger is space that can fit a 30-foot by 60-foot tent for an outdoor reception or the couple can host their reception directly under the stars without a tent.
What You Should Know
The venue only hosts one wedding at a time and is available for Sunday weddings from May through October. The couple can choose their preferred vendors for tents, flowers, photography, catering and more. A marked parking area with attendants is provided and the owner is available to take care of pre-wedding arrangements on the day before and day of the wedding to meet with vendors that are dropping off tables, chairs and tents, help with setting up before the wedding, cleaning up after the wedding and more.
Wedding-quality portable bathrooms are available on site, as well as one boudoir bathroom with running water. There are no changing rooms on-site, so the couple should come prepared. Trash cans with bags and a refrigerator are available for guest use.
The venue is a historic landmark and guests are expected to respect the property by not smoking, climbing trees or climbing on the antique farm equipment. No fireworks, rice or confetti are allowed on the premises. Vendor equipment, decorations and other items need to be removed by 10 a.m. the Sunday after the wedding.
Since the farm includes a private home residence, appointments are needed to view the farm before the wedding. The home on the property and yard around it are off-limits.
The historical farmland is a wonderful place to hold a relaxed country-style wedding. Rustic and authentic decor are provided with site rental to help set the mood, including:
- Watering trough to fill with ice and keep drinks cold
- Stringed lights placed through the trees for a romantic atmosphere that accentuates the natural beauty of the site
- Painted distressed wood sign to direct guests to the wedding from the road
