ew weeks before the wedding, I was in Nola and wanted to meet with her, and only gave her a last minute notice. She came straight from the airport to see me, while her family was in the car after her vacation, just to accommodate my needs. She is very sweet and extremely nice, while being very professional. Her entire team is also professional, and I was very pleased and trusted them with all my decisions. She pulled it all together, and anticipated and helped avoid many issues before they happened. She also solved problems as they popped up. As an example, I had one too many drinks before our "2nd Line Parade" and it went straight to my head. Needless to say, after the 2nd Line she changed the plans a little bit, and made sure I got some food to help me sober up a little. She truly cared that our wedding was successful from start to finish. I am so glad I have chose WBL - she helped make my beautiful dream wedding become a reality. We love you Lulu!!!

lready had a great telephone call with LuLu, where she advised that one of the big values of having a planner was for them to help you narrow down your visits to places that were a good fit, but to be thorough, I wanted to meet a few in person first and thought I had the venue research down pat. Well after 2 very long, tiring days at various venues that just seemed so different in person than they did online I wondered if I had made a mistake. As soon as we met LuLu she could tell we were unhappy. She asked a few questions about what we were looking for and the places we didn’t like and on the spot, set up 3 appointments (on a Sunday!) at venues she thought would be a good fit. We didn’t bother meeting with anyone else and the very first venue she took us to was a winner! And that’s pretty much how the rest of the relationship went: LuLu asking thoughtful intelligent questions and intuitively understanding what we wanted. We got the full planning package and she literally took care of EVERY wedding detail. On our wedding day I literally had tears in my eyes at how beautiful everything was. LuLu and her team flawlessly executed the plans we made, the design we dreamed of, they made sure our every need was taken care of, ran interference with parents and the one thing that was most important to me: kept everything on schedule! I made throughout the entire wedding planning process. Planning a wedding is stressful enough but deciding to plan one from across the country at times felt like insanity. Lulu helped me at every step of the way during the wedding process. She was always there to answer all (no matter how silly) of my questions and to talk me down the ledge a few times. She took care of all of the hotel blocks for guests, which was no easy task because there was a huge realtor convention in town that weekend. She found us enough rooms and different price points to please all of our guests. She has such an amazing list of and relationship with many reputable and reliable vendors for all price ranges.It made planning a wedding from out of town a piece of cake. I literally did not stray from her suggested list (band, flowers, hair/make up, venue, photographer, cake) and I was so impressed at the level of talent and professionalism from everyone. Having her there the day of the wedding was wonderful too. She made sure to take care of all of the behind the scenes details so that my husband and I could enjoy spending time with our friends and our family. My husband and I truly feel like our wedding was everything that we wanted it to be for ourselves and our guests and a huge reason is because we had Lulu's help. Ladies, I am telling you: hire a wedding planner and make it Lulu! Hiring a wedding planning is an investment that is SO worth it and Lulu is so good at what she does.

I felt like a guest at my own wedding (of course, the most VIP guest!) - it was that much fun and stress-free! I hired Lulu about 6 months before our wedding. For the entire time we worked together, she was always available to me, and answered any questions I had promptly. She gave me THE BEST vendor suggestions - literally every single vendor I used that she suggested was outstanding. I really trusted her experience and that trust payed off, as it spared me a lot of headache and unnecessary stress. My mother said that I was the most stress-free and relaxed bride she had ever seen, but that is because Lulu took all of that stress away. She planned and executed every detail of my vision exactly the way I wanted it. Lulu learned, very early on, what was most important to me about our wedding, and made sure that she focused on those aspects. When I look back on the day I could not imagine having done it with out Lulu. If I could do it all over again I'd hire Lulu again, in a heartbeat.

! From our first conversation I was very impressed with her calm demeanor, knowledge and helpful suggestions. She put me totally at ease and made everything very easy. About two weeks before the wedding she took over all my vendor communication and allowed for me to really relax and enjoy. She also helped to arrange our second line which when planning from a far can be a huge pain! She attended our rehearsal and was a breath of fresh air. On the day of she helps orchestrate everything down to the last detail. She is direct and has a very high standard of service. She is the lady you want on your side because she knows how to get things done and how to make sure everything turns out exactly how you wanted it. She is very easy to communicate with and always replies super fast. Even weeks after our wedding she is still helping us with marriage license questions :). Lulu was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, I don't know what I would have done without her!

ere first thing that morning. I have to agree that her response time made me a bit nervous but I really appreciated her team delivering those chairs so early because it relieved a lot of stress on my end. So still 5 starts from me. :-)

florist that she works with that we ended up using, who did a wonderful job, a warehouse of decor that you can rent, and an eye for decoration that really helped take the pressure off of me, since I am a person who looks at something on Pinterest and has no idea how to recreate it and make it look good. I would say that Lulu's strength is definitely the week before the wedding and the day of, as well as decor. She decorated the venue, handled the day-of payment of vendors, and provided a team of assistants who really helped run things smoothly. I wouldn't have been able to do the day of without her for sure, and I relied on her for a lot of advice and logistics the week of the wedding. She also has a mailbox where we sent some of our things in preparation for the weekend, which was super convenient, as we are from out of town. All that said, I still did a lot of work. Choosing and agreeing with vendors, contracts, payments, selections for various elements, like equipment rental from the caterer (Lulu took over since she was managing decorations), and all the other nitty gritty stuff that needed our decision-making. Lulu started working with us a year before the wedding and really ramped up the week of and definitely on the day. I would say her pricing is fair for the amount of work she put in over an entire year. The only reason that I've taken a star from the service, quality, and overall ratings is that I honestly did worry about responsiveness at times. There were moments when I'd ask some questions and get radio silence for up to two weeks (this was early in the planning process, though so I know she had other weddings to attend to), and there was an issue with two out of three hotel blocks that Lulu had set up. I had to redo them. She was late to our initial meeting when we were seeing venues, and deliverables ("I'll send you a decor proposal by Friday") often arrived after her self-imposed deadline. There were definitely times, especially early on, when I felt like I had to check in and check up on what she was doing for us, as it seemed unfocused. It seems like reviews of Lulu's services are either 5-stars all the way or a very disappointed "Wow, what are all these other people smoking?" I think we veered a few times into "Did we make the right decision?" territory, especially trying to plan a wedding from out of town and not feeling like we had anyone on the other end to answer emails, but Lulu really pulled through as we got down to the wire. Sometimes, I must admit, I couldn't really handle this kind of suspense, but we had a wonderful day, truly the best one in our lives so far, our friends and family loved it, and the venue looked amazing, and we were very happy with it. That's all that matters. Overall, despite a few bumps early in the relationship, I'm very grateful for how the weekend turned out and we definitely couldn't have done it without her!

o plan a destination wedding for 150 people from 3 different countries without being able to visit before-hand! We hired her right away. She gave such great descriptions of our possible venues and even took pictures for us so we could pick the perfect place for our wedding. And every other decision was just as informed and easy to make. All her vendor recommendations were excellent. When we arrived in town for the wedding 10 months later everything was laid out perfectly for us. Each vendor knew what to do and when to do it, our flowers and décor were gorgeous and our wedding day was just perfection. All our guests gushed about this being the best wedding they had ever been to and that was in large part because of Lulu’s amazing attention to detail, and the loving care she seemed to treat each aspect of our wedding with.

Her knowledge and attention to detail is exceptional. She provided excellent recommendations for vendors and had practical suggestions for all aspects of our wedding. Planning from afar is always difficult, and Lulu's understanding of the city and the arrangements needed meant everything came together in true New Orleans style - relaxed, personal, great food, great music, historic setting, and great people to work with throughout the day! I could not have asked for more - I think she even organized perfect weather somehow! Lulu and I communicated via email and finally met the day before the wedding - she had it all organized and offered insightful recommendations about timing and the flow of the day. She arrived early on our day and made sure all details were in place - and that the vendors were all apprised of the plans. Lulu had negotiated many aspects of the day on our behalf exceedingly well and I felt as if I had a guardian angel with me at every step - right down to making sure the train of my gown missed any inadvertent puddles. I cannot recommend her services highly enough - she is truly a lovely lady inside and out, with a keen understanding of the industry and the beautiful city she calls home. I feel fortunate to have found her amongst the many wedding planners available. I sincerely believe she is the best there is!

she understood exactly what we wanted and who we were as a couple. There were only a few must haves on our list--- open bar and a second line. She was helpful in finding a ceremony place and reception place even though we seemed to already have in mind what we want but ended up loving her ideas better. We needed to make sure our guests had the best time and that's exactly what they had. We're still hearing from our guests a month later on how amazing the reception room looked, how perfect the ceremony was and how much fun the "parade" was. Lulu made all of this happen and we couldn't have asked for a better planner to help us put together our dream day.

The biggest problem I had was that she was an hour late to a meeting we had scheduled with another vendor the week of my wedding (it was a destination wedding). So we had to have the meeting without her. The morning of the wedding no one could contact her for a few hours. While she was at the wedding she was rude to a few guests. It was totally unprofessional. In addition, she was unresponsive - weeks would go by and I often had to follow-up multiple times before she'd respond to my emails. She was not attentive - I would email her with important details and she would ask about them later as if I never told her. She was not detailed - the floor plan that was part of the contract was completely unusable (it had seating for 30 more people than we had). After the wedding, she was supposed to collect some of the things that I brought and a bunch of votives never made it back. From start to finish, working with Lulu was frustrating and a disaster.

It rained the morning of our wedding, but she assured me that it would stop and my courtyard ceremony & second line would go as planned & boy was she right ! Lu has a very laid back and reassuring demeanor which has a calming effect, which is great especially when dealing with me, as I tend to worry and get hyped up. It was actually my husband who found Lulu and spoke with her on the phone after I told him that I really needed some professional help with pulling everything together after months of planning on our own. I too was sold after our initial consult. She quickly made great recommendations for anything we had not yet confirmed & helped me make some important decisions regarding my ceremony & second line musicians that turned out to be so important. She was always available by phone, text, email & even facebook, at all hours of the day & night. In fact, after booking her (sight unseen) we met her on a fluke while visiting New Orleans because she recognized me from my facebook photo. Lu really helped me out when the florist I had already paid a deposit to, could not satisfy me with the table decoration options to create the vision that I had. Lu recommended someone who was more affordable & the tables were absolutely beautiful. Lu also worked well with all of my vendors, not just the ones she referred me to. She created a pinterest board so that we could share ideas. During the days before the wedding, when my anxiety was rising, she was so helpful. She ran the rehearsal & came to pick up all of the DIY stuff I had done, while I was busy hosting a welcome party. On the day of the wedding she made sure that my Pastor made it from the Airport to the venue & even had another officiant on standby in case his flight was delayed because of the weather. Also in the hours before the wedding one of her assistants was at my side the entire time to help with anything that came up, or any last minute questions or concerns I had. I was so calm and not stressed at all on my wedding day thanks to Lulu ! She even had to divert another second line from coming down the street right before our wedding started, so that it would not disturb our beautiful courtyard ceremony. She is very detail oriented, responsive, and listens to what is important to you & respectfully makes suggestions. The only mishap was our wedding programs didn't get passed out because they were placed under a storage cart by accident by an assistant. We found them the next day. After our wedding Lu & her assistants made sure that all of our items were packed up and delivered to our suite or the house we rented for the week. Lu even brought the leftover food that the caterers packaged up, along with our cake top & a bottle of champagne to the house we rented for the week. She is a class act. One of our favorite wedding memories, was Lu leading us into the street for our Second Line, we were super excited & dancing way too fast, leaving the crowd and the band behind, LOL Lu had to remind us to “ slow down, enjoy yourself, take your time & enjoy your second line, this is all going to go really fast”. She was right, it did go by fast, but it was a perfect day. Thank you so much Lulu !

Lulu was very organized and even created a timeline for me and my groom on the day of. Being from out of town, I put a lot of trust in Lulu and I'm so glad I did. I could not have asked for a more amazing wedding. Everything was fabulous and even better than I could ever dream of. All of our guests are still raving about our wedding. We could not have done it without her!

For us, we honestly wanted to warn people to stop and think before booking Weddings by Lulu for one of the most important days of their life. We thought we were booking someone who would helpfully navigate us through the wedding planning process in New Orleans, but what we got in return was a very disappointing experience. She barely did anything delineated in our contract and was unfortunately very unprofessional. Preceding the wedding she would take days, sometimes weeks, to respond to emails. And every time we spoke to her, she would ask us questions that we had clearly already decided upon. She made us feel like we were never a top priority for her. During the wedding, Lulu was rude to one of our guests (which the guest told me later), and during was hard to locate. At one point the band took their break unexpectedly, and instead of being right there to help us decide how to proceed, myself and my husband ran around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to locate her. I found her sitting in the ceremony room eating. Luckily, our venue had great coordinators that stepped in where she did not. Please, future brides, do your research, ask other vendors, and do not hire Weddings by Lulu.
