The only source of stress on the day of our wedding was the coordinator. We hired Lauren in October for our June wedding and expected to have everything go smoothly from planning to coordinating after we heard good things about her services fro...m a family friend. However, we were extremely disappointed in her lack of attention in the planning process and absolutely poor performance as a coordinator the day of the rehearsal and day of the wedding. The rehearsal was an absolute mess after she was unaware of the processional order, music, timing, layout, etc. Our officiant ended up jumping in after one disorganized and chaotic round of rehearsal under Lauren’s control. Our officiant saved the entire rehearsal and is the only reason myself and my husband felt good about the entire rehearsal. The day of was extremely disorganized and everyone had no idea what was going on. I was yielding questions from vendors and my husband spent a lot of time coordinating things and pointing Lauren in the right direction as she seemed unmotivated in doing what we hired her to do, coordinate. At the reception, Lauren sat down to eat before myself or my husband had even gotten our food which was upsetting. We had no idea where she was through the majority of the reception and had to have family members go track her down to answer questions from the caterers and DJ. My maid of honors ended up taking over the role of “coordinator” as Lauren was essentially absent the entire reception. At the end of the evening, my family was working to clear tables and put away decor in the reception area and rather than jump in to help she asked my husband if there was anything else he wanted her to do before she left. If we had to do it over again, we would hire someone else who had more organization and motivation to serve as a true coordinator so that we would have a low-stress wedding day.
