Be careful with this vendor. We hired them for our wedding and all initial calls were fine. However, we did not get to speak to our actual videographers until we met them the day of our wedding and they ended up being the only vendor that we ...had problems with. Our issues with them extended to almost three months after the wedding and we truly did not get closure from them for how they conducted themselves at the wedding.
I’m going to be honest, the edited features are nice to look at but the videographers aren’t the best when it comes to professionalism. I have footage of one of the videographers who was, in my opinion, flirting with one of my bridesmaids while they were supposed to be actively shooting. At one point, he even handed his own camera equipment to her while he was supposed to be filming the bride and the groom! We ended up bringing this up to the general manager but he refused to acknowledge the clear lack of professionalism. Instead he insisted that my bridesmaid was “pestering and distracting”… that’s not something anyone takes kindly to if it is directed towards a close friend. If this had been the only issue, I’m sure it would not have been something I would have gotten so frazzled over, even with the insult to my bridesmaid. But on top of this, the general manager did not acknowledge for a moment that his staff should have been more professional, they also wore our patience down with several other issues:
1) We asked YTM not to include certain shots in our wedding feature but they still did and so we had to ask them to edit those out (this caused a three-week delay that their admin tried to say was our fault);
2) We received the hard drive outside of the 4-6 week expected time due to the above
3) When we received the hard drive late, it was missing 50% of the reception footage (toasts, dances, speeches, etc.) and we had to ask them to send us a new one with all the footage;
4) The father of the groom speech and dances were not continuously shot—the videographer kept turning his camera on and off during both the speech and the dances (YTM had to stitch together two camera angles to rectify this mistake after we caught it).
Another interesting issue was that we discovered that one of the shooters was possibly an intern at the time of our wedding. When we inquired about it, the general manager provided some semblance of an explanation but to us, an intern is an intern. It was very concerning to me that his explanation did not seem legitimate, in my opinion.
I’m sure YTM will answer with some snarky comment but that’s just how they are. Don’t hire them unless you want to be frustrated and told by the general manager “I’m sorry you feel that way but we’re going to have to agree to disagree” when you bring up their staff’s professionalism and all their mistakes.
