A Destination Wedding at Joe's Seafood in Las Vegas, Nevada

A color palette of blush pink, gold and black brought a classic feel to the Las Vegas wedding of Chris Schafer, 29, a city maintenance worker, and Holly Olivarria, a 26-year-old student. Chris and Holly first met in 2007 when they were both members of the United States Marine Corps and started dating a few years later. When the couple began to discuss marriage, it didn’t involve a typical proposal. “Chris knew I was a simple girl,” Holly says. “We just had dinner and knew we wanted to take the leap and get engaged. The next day we picked out a ring at the local jewelry store.” Because the bride and groom are from different states, they chose to have a destination wedding in Las Vegas. Their ceremony was held at the Mandarin Oriental and their reception followed at Joe's Seafood Prime Steak and Stone Crab. The entire celebration followed a “Classic Vegas” theme inspired by Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe. “I wanted everything to sparkle!” Holly says. “Las Vegas is a huge place for weddings and I wanted to stand out from all the other weddings.”

Because it's the first thing a guest sees, the couple knew they wanted their invitations to pop. To achieve this, they used gold and black on shimmer paper with blush pink envelopes.
The bride donned a white trumpet style gown by David Tutera, a medium-length veil and light pink pumps.

"The flowers were very important to me!" Holly says. "My favorite flower is dahlias, the bigger the better! I also love roses."
Holly's bridesmaids wore short black A-line dresses with pink sashes and bows on the back along with black and white polka dot pumps.
"With the boys, I wanted Chris to stand out, but not in a overpowering way," Holly says. "I had them all in gray suits, but Chris had a shade lighter."

White and pink flower petals lined the aisle at the indoor reception as the room was illuminated with blush pink lighting.
"We knew we didn't want a cheesy Vegas wedding," the bride says. "There's nothing wrong with that, but we wanted a classic wedding with a Vegas feel."
Blush pink lighting brought the ceremony and reception rooms to life. "The lighting was perfect!" the bride says. "It made the ceremony room look magical and made the reception pop even better."
