A Rustic Winery Wedding at Greengate Ranch & Vineyard in San Luis Obispo, California

Since they both work in the wine industry, Samantha Cesmat (28 and a director of hospitality at a winery) and Kameron Cooper (27 and a sommelier) fell in love over glasses of wine and later decided to make wine the centerpiece of their wedding day. “The wine that was served at our wedding was all very special to us,” Samantha says. “Wine is our passion and it's how we met. It is the industry we work in, and we wanted that facet of our lives to be represented.” During their celebration, wine was served from friends’ vineyards, along with the vineyards the couple work at. A “Sam and Kam Say I Do” wine was made from grapes the couple had harvested. Kameron’s best man made a Primitivo from a vineyard he and Kameron had planted and grown up near. “Creating a Sam- and Kam-themed wedding was so exciting because it was meant to express everything that we are as individuals and how we fit so perfectly together with complementary styles,” Samantha says of celebrating their nuptials at Greengate Ranch & Vineyard in San Luis Obispo, California. "From the moment I stepped foot onto Greengate Ranch, I knew I couldn't see myself getting married anywhere else,” she adds. “It was everything I had dreamed of, with rustic yet meticulously groomed grounds and chic-modern country decor surrounded by acres of romantic vineyards."

Navy, soft whites, and blush pink accents created a classic and chic palette that let the ranch's and the vineyard’s natural beauty shine. The original plan was to tie the knot under a beautiful walnut tree on Greengate’s property. But after a stormy morning, Samantha and Kameron embraced plan B: getting hitched in the beautiful stables on the ranch. Nearly 200 guests were seated in the working horse stables, where the barn’s long, narrow corridor was transformed into an aisle flanked by beautiful vintage furniture and pink floral arrangements. Horses greeted guests as they walked down the aisle to take their seats. The couple exchanged vows in front of two big barn doors that opened to the backdrop of the breathtaking countryside. "The day was not at all what we had planned, but it was perfect,” Samantha says. “The rain certainly did not put a damper on our wedding. We were surrounded by love and ended the day toasting with a beautiful blue sky and a California sunset.” —Marissa Hermanson
