A 1940s Themed Classic Wedding at Crystal Ballroom at the Rice Hotel in Houston, Texas

Lynsey Layton (23 and a nursing student) and William Clements (23 and a mechanical engineer) are the product of a growing group of online daters. They chatted for about a month before Will asked Lynsey out on a date, but once they met, it only took one week to know they were in love and a done deal. About a month later William unexpectedly asked for Lynsey’s hand, and after working hard to earn the ring, he slipped it onto her finger about a year later. The couple had a classy, 1940s vintage-themed wedding at the Crystal Ballroom at the Rice Hotel. “It was everything I had been searching for,” says Lynsey. “Equal amounts glamour and vintage without being over the top.” Their colors were champagne and blush, outlined with black and accented with red, gold and silver. ?“Will and I both agreed that these colors reminded us of timeless romance, love, respect and a bit of glamour," says the bride. The couple favors all things vintage, so they knew they wanted their bridesmaids and groomsmen to reflect the classic theme. The gentlemen dressed in tuxedos and the bridesmaids had dusty rose dresses with tulle skirts. The most exquisite detail of their special day was the cake: four uniquely textured tiers with brilliant metallic gold accents and topped with gold-touched flowers. "Always remember to stand up for your choices and desires for your wedding," says the bride. "Document all of it and enjoy your day! Once it's over, those are your memories."
