A 'Beauty and the Beast' Romantic Wedding at Mount Woodson Castle in Ramona, California

This magical wedding, which was inspired by "Beauty and the Beast," took guests back to the tale as old as time and showcased the newlyweds' love for one another. Brook Boehmke (25 and a marketing coordinator) and Michael Trujillo (25 and a CNC machine mechanic) brought their whimsical theme to life at Mount Woodson Castle in Romona, California—a historic castle built in 1921 that was filled with elegant charm. “Brook picked out this location before they were even engaged because she felt like a princess just being on the property,” the couple says. “Mount Woodson Castle was the picture-perfect place for Brook’s fairytale wedding dreams.” The blue, yellow and red palette based on the classic Disney movie was maintained in the wedding-party attire, captured by Lovers Rock Photography. Bridesmaids wore a variety of knee-length dresses in shades of beige and champagne, and the groomsmen wore slate blue tuxedos accented with gold ties, which matched Michael's attire. Brook’s trumpet-style ivory wedding dress designed by Mori Lee was adorned with crystals at the top of the bodice and on the tulle skirt that sparkled with each step. Teacups, mirrors, books and other whimsical objects found at antique shops decorated the outdoor reception space, and each table had pictures of Michael and Brook to help share their love story. Vintage skeleton key bottle openers were given to each guest as favors, which we thought were perfect for this wedding, which was right out of a storybook. “We think the entire day reflected us as a couple because it was very romantic, intimate, comfortable and fun, with a lot of dancing, drinking and love in the air,” the couple says. “The whole day was inspired by the beautiful connections to our family and friends, and the wonderful support system we are lucky to have.”
