A mariachi band entertained during the cocktail hour, which was held by the pool.
Brightly colored mid-century modern furniture was a relaxing place for guests to rest during the reception.
“We chose Belmont Hotel because we’ve always found a sense of beauty and peace there,” Laura explains. “It’s laid out perfectly for a weekend escape with the family and has a feeling of fun and adventure right in the middle of Dallas.”
A round, custom neon sign that read “An Aura Gold”—an anagram of their two names—was a unique focal point of the reception décor.
The couple chose a Beatles cover band, Hard Day's Night, for their reception.
Colorful bouquets of zinnias, dahlias, pincushion proteas and ranunculus added a splash of color to the bridesmaids' ensembles.
For the ceremony, Laura wore a long elegant slip dress with a low back and subtle lace embellishment.
The cake and dessert table was surrounded by colorful paper fringe and had a large custom banner with the couple's names hanging across the top.
Dogan and his four groomsmen wore ranunculus and craspedia boutonnieres in a fun peachy shade of orange.
Laura wanted a natural look for her hair and makeup, so she chose a simple updo that was knotted at the nape of her neck.
Gray pots filled with zinnias, dahlias, pincushion protea and blue thistle added color and texture to the reception tables.
Laura’s five bridesmaids wore the same convertible gown in a blush tone. “Each woman is so unique and special to me—I wanted them to feel comfortable and be able to be themselves too,” Laura says.
Laura carried a loose arrangement of ranunculus, peonies, dahlias, craspedia and wildflowers.
A canoe, filled with colorful paper poms and lanterns, floated in the swimming pool.
The inspiration for Laura and Dogan's invitation suite came fro a creatively detailed document Dogan found in Europe.
A multi-layer naked cake was the centerpiece of the dessert table. Other sweets, including petit fours in a variety of flavors, surrounded the confection.
Potted cacti sat atop the coffee table in the reception's lounge area.
