A Bohemian, Mid-Century Wedding at Acre Baja in San José del Cabo, Mexico
Tropical foliage and macramé accents lent Tara Jobin and Dylan Ramsey’s mid-century modern wedding a laid-back, bohemian edge. Tucked in the foothills of San José del Cabo, Acre Baja offered the ideal backdrop for the alfresco fete with its abundant greenery, organic farms and elegant treehouses. The mango grove played host to both the ceremony and reception. The couple exchanged vows against a backdrop of swaying palm trees, framed by an arch of tropical florals and macramé hangings, then joined their guests on the tiled terrace for dinner and dancing. “Acre had such amazing greenery that we really tried to play off,” Tara says. “We used lots of greens mixed with burnt orange and pink flowers. We used similar flowers and greens from the bouquets to create my striking headpiece for the reception.” Each decorative element was chosen with care to highlight the evening’s retro theme while allowing the beauty of the natural setting to shine. Mid-century-style furnishings and textured rugs offered a cozy place for guests to kick back with cocktails, while rattan chairs, custom papel picado, wood farm tables and macramé table runners injected a touch of West Coast flair into the reception décor. One of the couple’s favorite moments from the day was their first look. “Dylan and I did a first look, where we read our vows to each other privately. It was such a special moment we will cherish forever,” Tara says.
