A Bohemian Pastel-Hued Microwedding at The Barn at Willow Brook in Leesburg, Virginia
Chelsea and Mike's bohemian microwedding at The Barn at Willow Brook in Leesburg, Virginia, was a prime reminder that minimonies, elopements and microweddings can still be personal, over-the-top and packed with dreamy details. While the COVID-19 pandemic forced Chelsea and Mike to postpone their larger celebration, the couple wanted to still exchange vows on their original June wedding date. To help the couple celebrate, their vendors brought together a socially-distanced microwedding with an Anthropologie-meets-Etsy vibe.
With a much smaller guest list, the couple chose to go all-out in bringing the boho, relaxed aesthetic to life. The couple's planner had a vision to create an intimate event at The Barn at Willow Brook in Leesburg, Virginia, that felt warm and inviting while also seamlessly merging the design choices for inside the barn with the outdoor greenery that was present at the garden venue. "The color palette was influenced by the colors of daybreak, a soft, serene mix of blues, greens, peaches and pinks, softly accented with raw wood, rose quartz, brass, and matte black," explains the couple's photographer. Himalayan pink salt accents, wicker furniture and plenty of pampas grass added ample texture into the pink-and-green celebration. Following a ceremony officiated by Chelsea's father, the couple's small guest list of close family and friends selected an on-palette mug as an escort card that also served as a wedding favor. Then, the small gathering of people enjoyed a socially-distanced dinner to cap off the evening.
