A Boho, Countryside Wedding at Cornwell Manor in Oxfordshire, England
Brennan Shaffner and Thomas Hoppe wed on the grounds of Cornwell Manor, a 2,000-acre estate located near Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds. The ceremony took place in an 11th-century Norman church dressed up with a chandelier and greenery. Brennan wore a bohemian-inspired backless A-line dress with a V-neckline and feather print skirt. After reciting vows, a mariachi band led guests to the cocktail hour and reception. "I'm from South Texas, and mariachis were often part of family celebrations growing up," Brennan says. "We were able to track down a local mariachi band to lead us out of the church and help kick off the celebration." Dinner took place in a rustic teepee decorated with a hanging flower arrangement, candles and wood accents. The florist relied on local and seasonal flowers, emphasizing greenery and incorporating lots of different textures. Guests finished the night with a berry-covered naked wedding cake, and many of them "glamped" on the estate grounds. "We made sure guests had everything from real mattresses to the best toilets and showers available and electricity to charge phones," the bride says.
Our favorite #MakeTradition Moment: "Our late-night evening snacks were a fun nod to our universities: Nashville hot chicken (Vanderbilt) and fried cheese curds (Wisconsin)," Brennan says.
