A Bright, Charming Wedding at L'Auberge Chez Francois in Great Falls, Virginia
Cecilia Oh (37 and a lawyer) and Edo Husovic (38 and an IT analyst) met at a lounge in Atlanta, where Edo was deejaying. They were introduced by a mutual friend, and a week later they had their first date at a Korean BBQ restaurant, where Edo demonstrated a willingness to try delicacies from Cecilia's native country. Edo proposed to Cecilia on New Year's Eve, on a beach at sunset in Tulum, Mexico. With the help of one of their close friends and wedding planner, Catherine Davis, Cecilia and Edo planned a lovely and bright garden party wedding. They elected to be married at L'Auberge Chez Francois, a French restaurant in Great Falls, Virginia where Cecilia's father worked for 40 years as a chef. This charming restaurant wedding, with the ceremony outdoors in the garden and cocktail hour on the patio, had a color scheme of navy blue, cherry red and verdant green. The vintage style wedding invitations, escort cards and menus were provided by Minted, while the ethereal flower arrangements of blush roses, pink aster, red dahlias, pink scabiosa and eucalyptus leaves in silver bowls and vases were supplied by Highway to Hill. As a nod to Edo's deejaying talent and how the couple first met, Cecilia and Edo had their guests sign a vinyl record in lieu of a guest book, and their cake topper featured a bride and groom with a boom box. "We felt the festivities represented us as a couple, while paying homage to our families and cultures."
