“When Eric and I met, he was running a music festival at a sleepaway camp,” Melissa says. “We wanted to re-create that carefree, festival feeling for our wedding.”

Melissa Ayre (27 and an attorney) and Eric Welles (31 and a media executive) wed in a Jewish ceremony at the most northern point of the property under a chuppah covered in garden roses, tulips and dahlias. Postceremony, guests walked to a window-lined barn to dine at wood farm tables topped with gold candelabras and bowls of fresh fruit. “We were lucky to be one of the first couples to get married at the estate after gorgeous, crystal chandeliers were installed in the middle of the space,” Melissa says of the renovated venue.

After entering the ceremony to an acoustic rendition of Eric’s favorite Phish song, “Bug,” the newlyweds walked back up the aisle accompanied by a New Orleans jazz funk band. “We’re huge Phish fans, so we needed a live band that could bring down the house,” Melissa says of the musical flair.

For cocktail hour, guests gathered poolside around the estate’s outdoor patio, where they found koozies emblazoned with the couple’s custom wedding monogram. Rustic, wood crates topped an escort card display along with miniature bottles of Saratoga-sourced olive oil that doubled as favors.
