A Bright, Modern Wedding at Pallet23 in Cincinnati, Ohio
The industrial space inside Pallet23 in Cincinnati, Ohio, served as the perfect blank canvas that Bethany Slack (30 and a speech-language pathologist) and Peter Wagreich (29 and a speech-language pathologist ) used for their modern wedding. "We loved the bright, open space that would allow us to decorate however we wanted," Bethany says. "We wanted a fresh and modern feel, so all our decor and paper goods were simple, clean and pretty minimal." Bethany wanted to put her crafty nature to work, so she made many of the details that decorated the space—from sewing the hexagon pieces used for the escort cards to fabric flower arrangements made out of felted-wool balls and wire. Bethany and Peter even made the chuppah they got married underneath out of PVC piping, covered by a handmade hexagon clad with colorful ribbon hanging from the sides. The room flipped for the reception with dining tables marked by hexagon shapes depicting symbols, representing their speech-language pathology profession. We loved the dessert table filled with so many sweets adored by Bethany and Peter—especially the freshly baked pie with a heart carved out in the middle. "More than anything, we wanted our wedding to feel like a true reflection of us , our style and our personalities," Bethany says.
